It's a reasonable thought. Society is full of insitutions that limit certain aspects of human behavior. I am not sure if "being in peaceful society" is good enough reason to alter our nature. Another route would be to reduce "the need to be in peaceful society", i.e. people becoming increasingly independent of each other.
