Men go for all women. While men can go for attractive women all they like, there is a very high entry requirement.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/24 01:57 AM

Yes because then they simply come to you
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/24 01:55 AM

Marriage age stats are official and show people marry within 3-4 years at the most usually. Beyond that you go into the uncommon category. Your question is explained by situationships, people dating multiple people.

Number crunching never ever works. It doesn't work in business and doesn't work in dating. 0% of 0 is 0.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 04:50 AM
1

Way harder. Guys are in their 30s and bragging about going out with a 24 year old who is literally a bit less attractive than them. Anyone who is attractive will have extremely high standards if they're dating someone older.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 04:46 AM

Those are anecdotes and ultimately represent a very small percentage of women, even if you include all of the fake stories.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 04:45 AM
1

Let me ask you. You truly believe those are the same two things?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 03:34 AM
1

That's very untrue. Also not nearly the same as what I'm saying. There's a massive difference between a woman wanting cash upfront when you meet, just to come hang out with you for 2 hours. Versus paying for a couple drinks for someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 06:09 AM

Lil Wayne is also an elite celebrity, not relevant for 99.99% of men. The average man is overweight but so is the average woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/24 04:18 PM
1

There won't be 10% rating someone a 7-8 and 90% a 5. It's a smaller number and smaller discrepancy. Also many of that <10% won't be interested for other reasons. Leagues are still relevant.

Women leave men, not the other way around; barring the anomalies.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/24 01:58 AM
1

Yeah but that doesn't really change much? You go to the gym to look better. Body already is quite limited in how much it helps. There's a reason there's a massive overlap in the bodybuilding and incel communities. Most women don't care about muscles much. As a whole, it helps a little bit and is a nice bonus but isn't a game changer unless they're a dedicated fitness person. You're right about getting rid of red flags. My idea though is that it's better to just not waste time and try to go for w…

Let me rephrase that. Personal opinion is not relevant. What is relevant is if most people out of 10,000 would agree with you. That's more in line with majority opinion and objective in some sense rather than personal bias. Why does that matter? Because we can't take your word for who is and isn't pretty. Who you think is pretty, might be average to 90% of men. We don't know. My experience is that 100% of the time when these claims get made, with no exception, there is never a true mismatch in l…

Yeah but that's not what people mean when they say money. The reference always is about some mythical guy who is not good looking, has a lot of money, and lots of quality women genuinely want him. That's simply not reality. I do agree with what you're saying though. If you can get plastic surgery, and if it works for you (it doesn't for everyone) and you acquire a perfect body then yeah you'll at least have a shot at being a bit above average. Again, this doesn't work for everyone. Though those …
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/24 01:46 AM
1

No I'm just trying to understand your point. So by that logic, you'd have to agree that men have much higher sex drives, which not everyone agrees with. And that women can simply hold off for more attractive men.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 05:15 AM
3

Offer more in what regard? If you take a 5/10 guy who makes 80k per year and a 5/10 woman who makes 60k per year .The woman has far more options and can easily reject the first guy and find another one like him. The guy on the other hand, might need to look hard to find someone else who will say yes. But how does the woman offer more?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 04:52 AM
6

Is there some sort of objective metric to show that women are massively better than men in terms of looks and career prospects and income and personality? I would expect this to be true if men are crap everywhere. Or is it just that men hit on everyone and women can have very high standards that becomes unrealistic relative to what they offer?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 04:32 AM
1

It's not 80% but it's higher than it's ever been for sure. Some men do get into a relationship and may only have had 1-3 partners lifetime by their late 20s but are ultimately not desirable in the dating pool. Though again, not 80%. There are lots of single moms and other people out there. Things eventually stabilize out a bit. People go below their league as well eventually.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 04:28 AM
1

If you look closely, those guys are average but the women they're with are also average looking. Whenever someone shows me photos of these cases, I have never once seen a true looks mismatch. So yes if you're charismatic, you can do really well in your own league. The other consideration is that charisma and looks aren't much different, are they? Both are things you're very limited in how you can improve it. Looks are very hard to improve but charisma is arguably even harder. Both are out of you…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 04:25 AM

I think if you have average tier looks potential and lots of other issues, like you mention, then fixing them can let you attractive average looking women. What you cannot do, is actually upgrade your looks. An average guy is not becoming a chad or anything even close to that and isn't attracting good looking women generally speaking. Sure, sugar daddies and mental health related issues and other outlier cases happen. For normal healthy people, not a chance.

Money gives you options if you want to pay someone.

Good post. The number of single women in your early 20s and in that age range, is just so high around you. I have no idea where people get this idea that just having a place to live and a car, makes a guy attractive? Those are just normal human stuff. I have multiple flashy cars, a large 6 bedroom home and vacation property and earn 7 figures. The women who care are very obviously into my looks and how I act way before they find out any of that. The women who don't care, continue to not care at …
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:31 AM
1

Is that truly what's happening though? Me and a couple others on here who have 7 figure incomes/net worths have posted that it has zero impact. Keep in mind I do drive (multiple) flashy cars, have a 6 bedroom home and vacation property and other toys.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:23 AM
1

I don't know dude. There are a lot of guys who think just getting older, somehow magically means women will want you.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:22 AM

Self improvement has enormous diminishing returns for dating. Unless you're truly overweight or have some major deficiency that's fixable, the returns on investment are minimal.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:21 AM
1

It's easy to talk about something being an issue if you don't have it and thus can blame it. The chad type of guys I know all had major success with dating high quality attractive women despite having mediocre incomes.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:18 AM
2

Low value on paper but still way ahead with real life dating prospects compared to an older "high value" guy on paper. I'm a doctor in my 30s and the dating pool is much much muchh smaller now. It doesn't really matter what your "value" is. The number of single normal women in my age group + the number of younger single mom who are willing to date an older guy, is very small compared to when I was 22 and amongst my peers.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:17 AM
3

The problem is your dating pool is so much smaller now. You can infinitely self improve, but for who? Not to mention, self improvement of looks is very minimal even after immense effort. Early 20s, you can date women in your age group which are a very large number of single women. You can also date older to some extent. In your 30s, suddenly the pool shrinks. Most women your age are not single. They're married with kids, or have a partner of some sort. You can go 5-6 years younger and it's very …
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:14 AM

Yeah I also quickly realized that unless you want to pay (be a sugar daddy), it has no impact. I'm a doctor and while it can help with making conversation with some people (not most), it really doesn't move the attraction needle. On paper? Sure. In real life? The women who are interested are the ones who would be interested regardless.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 02:09 AM

Right. Online dating used to be somewhat niche. Social media not being as prominent meant that standards were not so absurdly high.

7 figure earner here. When do you think you realized it has no impact? We all went through the usual money talk we all hear about how important it is and how women will rate you a 9/10 if you're a 5 just because you're a millionaire.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 05:23 AM
7

I've posted about this too and perhaps you've replied to me before. I'm actually a 7 figure earner, not just net worth. I attract the same women I did when I was 20, plain average looking. So yes it had zero impact. Usually you know who is honest about money online in this context because they're the first to admit it doesn't matter. The guys who pretend, will say it's important. But never can explain why. Then people who do not have high incomes, blame money. It's never the money. I used to dri…

Guys in their 30s with careers don't have that many dating options. It's largely single moms your own age, younger single moms or problematic folks.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 05:20 AM
3

Younger women like excitement and don't care about stability. As they get older, they STILL care about excitement but they also care about stability. Looks and being fun doesn't stop being important. It's just there's an extra variable added in.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 05:18 AM
10

It gets harder with age in real life, not easier. It only gets "easier" if you were massively underachieving. I'm talking about making some improvements either. Think of it this way. Take a guy who is morbidly obese at age 20. Fast forward to age 40, that same guy is now quite lean and in great shape. Who is the faster runner? Of course the 40 year old. But does that mean people become faster and become better athletes with age? Hell no. Everyone knows that. It's just the 20 year old version was…

The redpill advice is hilariously fake and never happens. The bluepill advice is just cope.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 05:14 AM

Average age of marriage is under 30 so this doesn't even apply to most people. Most people aren't anywhere close to rich either. I think you're confusing that women care that the guy is at least somewhat financially stable versus gold digging where you are willing to date a less attractive guy for his money. You're also assuming the hot guy is broke. Why? Statistically the hot guy is not broke. So most of the time, that's still who women will want at age 20, 30, 40 and 50+ I wasn't ever broke at…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 04:55 AM
2

Not exactly. Guys in the low socioeconomic class date/marry/hook up with women in the low socioeconomic classes. Attractive guys in the bracket get with attractive women in the low socioeconomic classes. If you're saying that a guy working minimum wage at age 30 with no education or skills isn't going to attract educated career-oriented attractive, then yes you're right. On the other hand, if you're a 5/10 guy making 500k per year, you aren't going to attract a 8/10 woman unless you're directly …

Men only struggle due to looks and sometimes personality. I can't even remember one time seeing a guy get rejected due to lack of money. But I've seen countless guys get rejected for flashing money. Guys who go for their own league don't struggle as much.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 04:18 AM
1

That doesn't mean a good income will attract anyone on its own.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:57 AM
1

Exactly this
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:56 AM
1

I guarantee you that that they aren't as hideous as you say and the women they're with are on their level as well. There are lots of lonely richer guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:56 AM
3

You don't have a chance without the looks as a guy. I'm a 7 figure earner and in my neighborhood and numerous social contacts, the guys who are average looking or lower are always hiring escorts or sugar babies. Even the 6/10 guys have no chance with the attractive women. These are all wealthy guys. 7 figure earners, 6 figure passive incomes, not old. I used to hook up easily when I was 20. Now in my 30s it takes more work for lower success rates and it's impossible to date out of your league. Y…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:42 AM

That's funny because every typical younger pretty girl dates/marries the chad type who, while not broke at all, is not rich either .
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:39 AM
2

What's the double standard? Blaming money is an excuse. Good looking guys get laid without any money, and get married to quality women. Guys who struggle with dating just want to blame something material and pick money. Newsflash, no income level fixes a guy's dating prospects.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:38 AM
11

I don't understand how it's gold digging if you simply want a man who has a job and is at least middle class. This is just an excuse for guys to pretend they can deflect their real dating issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:36 AM
2

Every guy I know who is a 5/10 or lower and is very high income or somewhat wealthy, still struggles a lot with dating. Just because women care about a guy having a job and not being employed, doesn't mean that a good job = dating success.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:35 AM
3

I make 7 figures as a doctor and I promise you that gold digging is largely a myth in how you view it.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:33 AM
2

Women equally care about beauty, in that you need to have a face that's equal to theirs looks wise. Have you not been around women when they're going crazy over the hot guy in the room? It's literally a guarantee.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:33 AM
0

Not at all. If a woman thinks a guy is hot and likes him, then he'll have sex with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:30 AM
1

OP your post is wrong. Being employed and not being broke is a requirement yes but it doesn't increase your chances in any way. You just can't even play the game without it. Once you get to play, then it's only your face/personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 02:29 AM
2

Well that's why I said it's a check box. You literally explained why it is indeed a check box. An enhancer would mean that being more educated makes you sexier to women which is absolutely not true. If your face isn't up to par, you have zero chance. A check box means you can't proceed without ticking the education box first. But once you do, it's still your face and personality that counts.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 05:26 PM
0

Not at all
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 05:24 PM
0

True but there are lots of 5/10 career guys with lots of money who has no options. I did okay with women when I was 20. Though mostly just very average looking women but most were in good shape I'd say. Fast forward, I'm a doctor and a very high income earner, I attract the exact same women as before. Actually it's a bit harder now.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:45 AM
1

Yeah that's true. I'd say the face check is also a bit of a spectrum. the more good looking a guy is, the more options he has. Even if being above average passes the face check.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:44 AM
2

If they find a guy they're attracted to, they'll be interested as long as he's employed. Being educated is just a check box. Not an enhancer for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:41 AM
-1

Expectations are ridiculous on paper, not in real life. A good looking guy who isn't tall and makes 75k a year will easily be able to date attractive women. That's real life. yeah sure on paper you might get a list of things.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:39 AM
1

Not really true. A guy who is 5'8 with an average personality but has a 7/10 face with a degree making 75k a year is good enough easily to get a 7-8/10 woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:38 AM
5

Having a degree satisfies a check box. It doesn't enhance your rating.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:36 AM
4

You need to be very careful in how you interpret this. Education and career is a check box requirement for many women, especially if that's something they have themselves. So yes it is one reason why. But be careful. It doesn't mean good career = liked by women. It means to even have a shot, you need to have those things. It doesn't enhance you, it just lets you come in the room.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:35 AM
7

This. If you look good, women will find you
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:22 AM
0

You realize that's just your opinion, right? Millions of women think his face is good looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:21 AM
1

And to millions of women as well
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:20 AM
1

I mean I'm sure there are many men who look better, sure. But he's still very attractive face wise. He's also an elite celebrity. Take a look at Bezos or Bill Gates. If money is that important, then why is their 2nd partner not better looking than their 1st?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:19 AM
1

What?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 02:18 AM
1

Because they're taught to only look at the material stuff but then on an individual level they go for who they're attracted to. People also don't realize that having a career or money is a checkbox requirement. It's not really an enhancer. Checking boxes doesn't upgrade you.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 06:23 PM
1

Leo is still good looking...
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 06:12 PM
1

Well you don't because there's no official directory of leagues of humans. Your best bet is, what would a few hundred women discretely think of 1 particular guy. Their average opinion, is his league. So you ignore outlier opinions and instead focus on averages across hundreds of opinions.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 05:43 AM
2

Their face, general personality, socioeconomic status. For the most part it's the person's face.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 04:58 AM
1

It's nuanced but pulling out of your league is rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:24 AM
2

Or he's going for above average women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:24 AM
1

Well what kind of women is he going for? If it's average BMI with a very average face, and still getting rejected a lot for dates, then he's below average.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:23 AM
2

Leagues are just a descriptor of that anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:21 AM
0

That's not really how it works though. Yes you can get lucky and become an outlier but the other side can cheat on you once they realize the looks mismatch. They also are unlikely to stick around unless you're offering something very niche.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:20 AM
0

Why don't you believe in leagues?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:19 AM
1

I would say 2nd date. 1st dates can happen due to luck or other reasons. Maybe the girl is bored. A 2nd date and sex is prove there's attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:17 AM
1

I would say replicate rather than keep. If you can hook up with lots of attractive women, then well you're good looking. If they're not staying with you, it's possible your personality is really bad. But you aren't just magically attracting lots of pretty women. That's definitely your league.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:16 AM
2

Yes OP you're right. But I would say at least it's what you can repeat. You can get lucky for all sorts of reasons. But can you replicate your success? That's your league.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 02:14 AM
1

Well even with a very average IQ, you can do well financially with blue collar work. So there's still quite a bit you can control. Looks is where you really run into a wall and that caps your dating pool immensely.

Things happen. Even me as the OP, have had flings with 3 women who were definitely prettier than myself. There's different reasons but truth is in most cases there isn't any actual attraction for the guy. Sometimes flings happen randomly, just due to luck.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/24 07:33 AM
1

What happens is you might be appealing on paper and once you go on a date and she sees your face closely for a couple of hours, she realizes there's no attraction. For your argument to be true, she'd remain interested despite lack of attraction to your face. Quite frankly I'm not sure where women who don't care a lot about the guy's looks even exist. The internet likes to pretend they're everywhere. Every girl I've gone out tells me that's the first thing she cares about.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 05:11 PM
1

The guy in those photos is good looking. That sort of dismisses your entire argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 05:10 PM

People think that guys who pay women to hang out are attractive to them lol
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:42 AM

Making you more attractive on paper is not the same as women actually desiring you.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:41 AM

Bezos' partner is on the same level as his ex wife. Gates... has a partner on the same level as his ex wife. Trump married a sugar baby. This is all explainable. Show me some rich guys who have a wife who is much better looking than them who is also fairly educated and has a career and clearly into their husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:39 AM
1

I'm sure you remember the outliers but what about the endless examples of looksmatched couples that you've seen. Why ignore them and focus on the outliers which make up <5%?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:38 AM
1

I said to exempt celebrities, so celebrity media is literally irrelevant. But on the topic of celebs... Jeff bezos? elon musk? Bill gates? Zuckerberg? Mega rich, but they're sex symbols to women?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:37 AM
1

Most women say the same as you do. But some women don't, except they always talk about other women liking rich unattractive guys. It's never something they or someone they know personally would embrace. Always some mystical idea that others do, that no one ever sees.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:36 AM
2

Like Jeff Bezos? He got divorced and got with someone on the same level as his ex wife. Bill gates? Elon musk? Even the mega rich are still largely in their own league.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:34 AM
1

Outlier cases always have the biggest appeal to people. It creates false hope though.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:32 AM

He's attractive, what's your point? Ignore my no-celebrity rule. Bezos, Zuckerberg, Bill gates. They're sex symbols to women?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:31 AM

Not for life. They too get married. I always laugh like people pretend the hot guys drop off the planet at age 30 or something all at once.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 01:30 AM
1

Well I certainly agree that couples are looksmatched, I would say it's more than just most. It's almost all. Multi millionaires are dating women in their own league. I literally live in a mansion neighborhood. Some of the guys here look better than their wife if anything. I'll exempt my no celebrity rule for a second. Just look at Bill gates and Bezos. I'll ignore zuckerberg here since you said after they got rich. But you can't pretend he has lots of women around who want him. Elon Musk? His ma…

So I noticed you said you're retired after working over 20 years. You're definitely over age 40 then, perhaps over age 50 likely? No offense, seriously. But there's a very high chance your opinion on who is and isn't attractive isn't the same as a 30 year old guy for example. I generally find guys who are middle aged or older, to find literally any 25-30 year old woman who is in shape to be attractive. Even when they have a very average looking face, they default to attractive due to being young…

Do you have any proof of this?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 02:19 PM

No, all ordinary people. Some liked to party.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 07:24 AM

So lets say you're an average 5/10 guy and 25 years old. You put a bunch of shiny stuff on. Where exactly are you going to get attention from women, and what are you going to do?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 06:34 AM

It's quite literally what I've observed nation wide. It's what women universally say as well. Even on this very forum, women say what I'm saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 06:25 AM
1

Based on what? I'd argue there are a very similar number of attractive people on both sides. Just being fit and wearing make up =/= attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 06:24 AM
2

Well hope for what exactly? Is your question assuming that dating in your league is bad? My thread isn't about that at all. It's just countering a general talking point.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 06:24 AM
2

Attention from who?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 06:00 AM

And you're certain you were not overrating women and underrating men? You weren't calling someone attractive just because they were in shape and wore make up? They were truly stand out attractive in a group of 40 people?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 05:59 AM
2

No because you can't. You're stating something that was true in the 50s and 60s. Times have changed, it's 2024.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 05:58 AM

Uncommon nowadays. A true sugar daddy-baby arrangement is far more common than old school gold digging.

I think that's just you overrating to be honest. Underrate the guy, overrate the woman. Very classic and common. Make up and fillers don't count. Chances are you're just describing a couple with a 5/10 guy and a 5-6/10 woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 05:09 AM

Sorry I've seen the opposite. What exactly do you do that has you scoping out couples in various urban centers and having knowledge on their finances and relationships?

It's funny because I know a couple attractive receptionists who have rejected the professionals in their office and have a chad bluecollar boyfriend. I routinely see nurses also go for the hot paramedic or firefighter. I think there's a fantasy that a lot of men have that obtaining a certain position or income guarantees them attractive women who like them. But there's 2 problems. 1) A high income and nice job doesn't make you a playboy, at all 2) Women are just people and will like who they're …

I would say it's generally common for lower socioeconomic women to not really care that much about a career oriented high income guy hitting on them. You realize this happens literally every night at bars all across the country? Ultimately, they see a guy they aren't physically attracted to and that's where it ends. On the lower socioeconomic ends, the dating habits aren't exactly based around putting immense value on a partner being very educated and successful. I would figure you'd know this. …

Did you read the part about excluding celebrities? Surely you don't think a random nobody guy making 750k a year is the same as a billionaire famous person. Do you believe that?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 04:53 AM
2

No, they're average. They also all easily find partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 04:52 AM
2

Here's the issue with this. Lots of those men are also good looking, I've seen it myself. Lot of the women are also not really any better looking than their husband. Maxing out make up with fillers isn't the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 04:51 AM

Yes you get plenty of attention from women at your own level. Well aware of that. Not from women who are obviously more attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 04:50 AM

Right, I said that in my OP. You can pay for it, as many guys do.

I'm quite literally a doctor. I might not personally but I have numerous male doctor friends who have been turned down by waitresses and similar many times. You think women don't care about being attracted to their partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:42 AM

Socal and NYC have an abundance of sugar daddies. Not sure why you'd ignore that.

How is that relevant?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:23 AM
-3

I see your point but you're wrong about who those men date. I'm a doctor and live in a upper class neighborhood in Texas suburbs and that's not what I see at all. The exact opposite actually.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:22 AM
2

Not sure where you live. I'm mostly lived in metro USA or suburbs in populated states. I've actually been to bars and parties a lot, and seen the exact opposite of what you're suggesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:21 AM
2

What's your point about Jeremy Meeks? Celebrities don't count for very obvious reasons. They have a different halo effect, fans have a skewed view of celebrities they idolize, and they have high end elite fame and status. None of these are remotely applicable to a business owner who makes 650k per year and is unknown to the public. I'm also not talking about outliers. You can can certainly find examples but you would have to ignore the hundreds of other cases for the one outlier you find.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 02:40 AM

All that counts on dating apps are looks. In real life, it's still not much more than that for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 02:07 AM

Realistically what has happened is that the percentage has dipped down a lot for men in general in recent years. So now you get more frustrated men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 02:05 AM

To be honest, a 6-6.5/10 rating would give you lots of options among average looking women.

This is why I laugh when people say that women's standards drop after 30. That's so hilarious to me. Even at age 45 women have very high standards. There are lots of pretty 40 year old women out there and guys that think their standards magically drop, are hilarious.

For men, plastic surgery doesn't always work well. I'm a doctor and have dabbled in cosmetics before (non invasive stuff only) so I have some knowledge base in that theory. It does work well for some though. Losing weight and getting muscular helps but a lot of incels do lift.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 01:58 AM
6

You're right about your general point. But there's also no big boss who's planting ragebait. Women post themselves on instagram as do men. It's individual choices. The internet just increases our exposure to this. Back in the day, you'd have to go to the bar to get rejected and you wouldn't really see the chad's success in your face regularly. Maybe sometimes but usually you wouldn't. Now you see it online. But one objective truth is that rejections have gone up as have single people. This means…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 01:57 AM

It doesn't work for everyone, especially men.

There is no revenge of the nerds in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/24 03:30 AM
7

You should do this of course but it has pretty minimal effects on dating outcomes. If you do become truly muscular, it can help a little with some women. Not a huge game changer. You won't have much control over this. That's like telling a kid in school to just go and become popular.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/24 03:26 AM
3

Looks and personality are both genetic.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/24 03:25 AM
3

We have data that shows most relationships are very similar in age. Big age gaps, are quite uncommon. It's 10-15% approximately and that includes modest age gaps too. You don't actually become more desirable with age as a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/24 03:24 AM
2

It is genetics relative to who you're pursuing. Men have to lower their standards a bit overall in their 20s and then in their 30s and beyond can have standards equal to their own level. You cannot compensate in real life with anything, other than theoretical stuff on paper.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/24 03:23 AM

No because when I was half broke student, I attracted the exact same type of women. I also don't understand how they're dating up? In what?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 05:02 AM
1

They are very average looking at the most. It's not gold digging when they're sharing the expense.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 04:18 AM
1

I have a lot of "gold" and all of the women into me are very educated (phds, doctors, charted accountants) and split the bill. Many get annoyed if I seem against splitting the bill. Keep in mind this is second date onward, not the first, where yes they want the man to pay. Where is this gold digging happening? I flat out get rejected by the onlyfans type of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 04:04 AM
3

Gold digging is just an excuse for failure in dating for men. "No woman likes me, must be because I make only 60k a year" Meanwhile guys making 50k a year are going out with attractive women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:35 AM

Go outside and look at people outside. Go on your Instagram and look at normal people. Those are examples where you see basically everyone is looksmatched. Why would you look at people who are extremely famous and mega rich? You could become a millionaire tomorrow and you wouldn't even compare to 0.1% of what they have.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:30 AM

Well if you start at zero, you can only do better. Successful men will eventually find someone and get married. But what you say is the redpill fantasy is what is broadly taught to younger guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:28 AM
1

I've worked out for as long as I can remember and I have a pretty good physique. Looksmaxxing your face is a myth unless you have high body fat or a bad hair cut. Confidence is just a descriptor of someone who have an appealing personality to women. No I would never try out of country. I have an abundance of options of women around my looks level here.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:27 AM
2

Well I'm a doctor and amongst all male doctors that I know, everyone is married to their looksmatch. But their partners are usually pretty educated. Same goes for others in my community who are high earning lawyers or business owners. Men "with resources" who are good looking, are married to attractive women yes. Average looking men with resources are not dating or marrying attractive women. They end up with their looksmatch if they're looking for something serious. Men with money do use sugar b…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:25 AM

That isn't gold digging though. Also a lot of women do pay on the 2nd date.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:22 AM

I still see attractive women marrying attractive guys and average women marrying average men. Who do you think the top 20% of men marry?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 05:31 AM
3

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 04:41 AM
1

I think people just always forget that attractive women get married to the chad types. The whole manosphere pretends that good looking guys in their 20s just drop off the planet after age 30 and the nerds somehow get ahead.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:30 AM
1

It's the same in upper class circles. I'm in that upper class and no one in my neighborhood is dating or marrying out of their league. When I go to restaurants where the bill comes out to 3000-4000$, yes I do see attractive women around. But guess what? The guys with them are also very good looking, that's the part people forget. No one ever looks at the guy properly, because when you do you realize looks still came first. Yes once you get to the major elite in society and celebrities, the rules…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:29 AM

It's very rare for men to date up in looks, outside of celebrities. The only cases I've seen involved the guy paying the woman, lots of mental health issues or a high school relationship that ended in break up.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:26 AM
2

You totally nailed it. People just pretending the woman is actually better looking when that's never objectively true.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:25 AM

Pro athletes and celebrities should never ever be used as examples for others. They're not even outliers, they simply don't exist on the spectrum.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:24 AM

I don't understand this argument. So who are attractive men dating and marrying then?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:23 AM

Overweight women still have WAYY more options than a decent looking in shape guy does.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:23 AM

Make an account with a woman who has a 6/10 face but curvy body and you'll get hundreds of matches and nonstop messages.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:22 AM

Not true. Lots of guys like curvier women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:21 AM

Earning a little bit more yes, but you're also giving too much credit to that. A woman making 60k per year and her partner making 80k vs 120k is not that big of a deal and I promise you women aren't sorting through partners like that. When you say men dating women who are a little more attractive, again, not really. It's very rare. If you mean a 5/10 with a 6/10, sure but few things to note. is the guy masculine? being 6'4 with a nice body can bump a 5/10 guy up by 1 point are you actually ratin…

If you take couples who meet in their 30s, you'll see they're looksmatched universally. If you rewind back to their early 20s the same couple would still be looksmatched back then, almost always.

Could be but those men use escorts. If they make good money, they become sugar daddies. Cheating outside of those arrangements requires a partner who likes you. Guys who didn't have an abundance of options are not exactly the top choice for women later on either. Also I usually see the opposite. Guys who worked hard in school and in their career but didn't have much dating success in their teens and 20s. They finally find someone in their 30s and treat that person exceptionally well because they…

You can have fun at any time. It's not really a midlife crisis or suddenly getting better in your 30s. Honestly I don't know a single guy who was a complete loser with women at 22, then suddenly super appealing to women at 35. Never seen it in real life. Never even heard of genuine examples.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 01:57 AM

The most success I had was when I was 19-22. It's harder now in my 30s even though I'm extremely successful.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 01:55 AM

Right exactly. You become a great option, but only within your league. Attractive women are not going to suddenly become attracted to a very average looking face.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 01:53 AM
1

Exactly, within your league. The money argument, at least from many guys, is that you can go from your own league (lets say 5/10) to having lots of 8+/10 women interested in you without any sort of payment etc.

Men peak at 55 bro
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:12 AM

You're just comparing extremes. The women who are actually pretty, like top 20% lets say, end up marrying guys in the top 20% of looks. Women who are average range, marry men in the average range. And so on. It's really not that complicated. You say poor goofball, but the person marrying that guy is going to be on the same level of looks anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:12 AM
1

Women don't either.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:08 AM
2

Hate to break it to you. Women care just as much about a guy being good looking if it's for long term. Of course, that's relative to their own looks. So they do actively seek out someone they're attracted to, but also compatible with. The latter obviously filters out a lot of guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:08 AM
2

Men don't date down as much as you think socioeconomically. What can happen is women cut down their work hours and their income drops down a lot over the years of raising kids and hence you get those alimony payments. But the initial income and education and career prospects are often quite similar.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:59 AM

I'm 6' tall. People just don't understand that money can build within your league but it's not leading to organic attraction from someone who doesn't like your face.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:52 AM

So what exactly did you notice going from 60k to 200k per year? I'm curious on the specifics. I went from earning 60k as a medical resident to making 7 figures. When I was a medical resident making that much, I could hook up or date and they wouldn't even ask what I did until it was obvious they liked me. I drove an average car. I drive a very nice bmw now so it's not like I look broke. I get the exact same type of women now as before. I thought what you may be noticing is women who already like…

Show me one single piece of outcomes based data. I'll wait. You've posted data that's as reliable as antivaxxer studies. I'm not LARPing. I'm talking up until the point where it's obvious they're into me.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 04:07 AM

You're making massive assumptions here to make a point that isn't true. Lots of women have said they don't care about money beyond just being stable. That's a check box requirement. Do you understand what that is? It's not an enhancer. Also why the looks and personality talk then? If money is so important, being a millionaire should very easily give a 4/10 shy guy lots of high quality well rounded 8-9/10 options to date and marry or hook up with, without paying them anything. But does it do that…

I actually had very extensive dating experience before getting rich and still do after as well. But yes not the women I'm always attracted to. It's not generalizing across women. It's just understanding that money matters if you're paying (sugar arrangements, escorts etc). Otherwise it's a bonus and it does not create the initial physical attraction. That's great for you if you tell me you make a lot. I'm a 7 figure earner including my dividend income. What's funny is the genuine guys on here ha…

The planet where I'm a very high income earner and have the before and after experience. Finance talk is always cope unless you're a sugar daddy or hiring escorts.

I have a hard time believing that's the real reason. Lots of my female physician colleagues are married to men in your income bracket.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 02:39 AM
2

I promise you that educated and/or successful and/or high income men do actually care a lot about their partner being in a similar socioeconomic bracket. Women in lower socioeconomic brackets also don't mesh well with high income men. They value different things, unless there's a direct exchange of money involved.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 02:38 AM
1

Yeah exactly. If you're a hot guy with a normal job making 60k a year and have your own place and a car, you're more or less set. You can multiply that to 600k and effectively zero women will actually care.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 02:20 AM

Not true at all. Lots of men in my profession are similar. My (upper class) neighborhood is very similar. Also did you even read my post? I've dated several dozen women, and that's excluding one off dates. What I'm saying is that before i got rich I was dating average looking women. After I got rich, I'm still dating average looking women. If I was unattractive, I would not have a shot with average women. Let alone dozens over time. Same if I had poor social skills. First rule is never ever include celebrities or the elite. Ever. Next, I've been dating since I was 14. I've had several dozens gfs, friends with benefits etc. So I doubt you have more experience but who cares? It's an amplifier sure. It doesn't let you go out of your league. That's my main argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 06:40 PM

The only money based relationships in 2024 are sugar daddy/baby arrangements. So women who are into it, go for that. Some are educated, some work minimum wage jobs. Outside of that, money is not a factor in giving access to attractive women for average men. I make 7 figures as a physician and I'm not at all into that type of relationship. So otherwise I find showing off money can be a turn off to women. Or it's neutral if they already like you.

I find if you have the personality to host an after party, you were getting laid in high school , college and after that with no issues. It's not the same as having a very average plain guy money and him instantly becoming attractive to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 06:15 PM

You're using the richest person in human history as your example? Haha what a joke. Your everyday "rich guy" who has a 8 figure net worth will have a sugar baby who he pays an allowance to hang out with him. That's sad in my opinion. Is that what you mean by money working for a guy? If so, sure it works because you can pay. But what do you think happens if you go on a dating app or approach a woman at the store? Once she's decided she isn't attracted to you, what's your next move? Just yell out …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 06:14 PM

Well millionaires can become sugar daddies. Guys don't understand that money = sugar daddy. You need to pay an allowance so the woman hangs out with you. You could be paying her 5k a month for example so she sees you weekly.

Your studies already got refuted in other posts. Posting a link is not proof. You need to understand methodology of a study and if it's applicable. Otherwise it's even more useless than an anecdote.

Stats don't show that at all. Dating apps are entirely looks based. Do you have a lot of money yourself?

I'm a dude...
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 06:09 PM

They don't drop their looks requirements that much though. But yes if they look average they'll settle for average looking. Attractive women in their 30s are strictly going for attractive men.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 06:08 PM
1

So I disagree that lifestyle gets you 2 points even though I think we agree on a lot. The thing is that a lot of attractive women are already plugged into those nice lifestyles in one way or another. They make their own money, they combine things with friends, they get invited to parties nonstop. To get the true lifestyle advantage, you also need the social skills and popularity and status. You basically need to be cool rich guy. Being rich isn't enough. You need to be hosting the party.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 07:22 AM
1

Right that's what I'm saying. I'm in that 5-6/10 range but I'm a 7 figure earner when including my investment income as well. I can easily date at my own level but have no chance with hotter women. I'm literally a live example of this.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 06:20 AM

Except they are not dating people based off their income at all. That's fantasyland and cope for men.

Women I've hooked up with didn't even ask what I do for work (I'm a doctor) and they didn't even care after finding out. You're acting like women don't like sex with someone they're attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 05:44 AM

This thread is just men talking about what they think women like. Have a look in the real world. The guys getting all the hot women are the super good looking guys, not the successful nerds. Men project what they like in other men, onto women.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 05:42 AM
1

Yeah sure if you have top 0.01% money. You're projecting that onto a guy making 300k, where you can't even get a nice home in NYC.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 05:40 AM
1

Looks set your league. Money and other things determine how well you do within your league. You're mixing those two things up. You can't date above your league with money. Every single hot woman is with a hot guy. Rich average men are with average women. That's a fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 05:39 AM

I went from low-middle class to wealthy and my dating prospects stayed the same. Thinking money matters a lot is coping. "One day I'll be rich and get the women"

There is always a lot of talk about somehow becoming very desirable as a guy and "gaining value." Whatever that means. Nothing changes. People eventually find a partner similar to themselves but the large majority of guys don't become likeable to women no matter what.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 03:19 AM
2

Honestly I don't understand where people see so called unattractive guys with hotties. Every single attractive woman I see is with a hot guy. Doesn't matter if she's 22 or 40. Seems like guys ignore dozens of examples and work hard to find a single outlier to pretend that's the norm.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 03:13 AM
1

If that were even remotely true, my whole upper class neighborhood would be full of attractive women. The reality is the opposite. Me also going from a below-middle class income to elite upper class income would change my dating prospects. Well guess what? Zero impact. Every hot woman I've known, or know, is looking for the hot guy and that's what they talk about. Hot or exciting and fun. If you really think a 5/10 firm partner making half a million a year is what women dream about, then I have …

If you can actually improve your looks, then yes it has a big impact. Improving financially makes you better on paper, it doesn't do anything in real life. Unless you're going from minimum wage to 75k per year, then yes it does. Go from 75k to 750k and your dating prospects don't change at all.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 03:07 AM

See my other post. I have all the money in the world and it has a near zero impact. I could make 15 times less than I do and my dating prospects would be identical. I know because at one point, I made that much less.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 03:06 AM

OP I've posted about this in this forum but I'm a millionaire as a physician and women don't care at all. I was dating average looking women when I was 20 and in my 30s, I still date average looking women and get rejected by anyone hotter. If I had a big personality flaw, well I'd be rejected by everyone. Trust me no one cares. It's a nice bonus once they're already into you. women make their own money money only matters if you're a true sugar daddy money talk actually turns off a lot of women
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 03:05 AM

Lol what does that mean in english
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 07:25 AM

I don't think this is really true anymore. >95% of attractive women I see are with good looking men and i see them all in LTRs, getting engaged and married. I almost never see this whole beta bucks thing happening. I'm sure it did once upon a time though. I also know people will work hard to find the <5% and pretend that's the norm.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 06:58 AM

If you mean matters a little bit for LTR, sure. But it's not compensating for looks and lack of chemistry.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 06:22 AM

I'm telling you as someone who has been on the middle class side and now upper class, it doesn't matter much at all. I believe it was more holistic before and looks standards were not the same as now. Though even still you need to go further back in time to see that big of a difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 06:11 AM

Maybe I should have clarified that I'm talking about the US and the west. "Abroad" is quite vague, and doesn't count. Marrying abroad is as popular as ever and those hotties at the gym are driven home by rich guys in expensive cars. I see the opposite everywhere. They come in with the chad types almost exclusively. Expensive cars are generally not a good indicator as a lot of younger guys barely make ends meet but pay a lease on a car they can't afford. It's extremely common. Throughout my life …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 05:42 AM

I think some guys think that just because women don't want a guy who is literally broke, that it must mean they crave rich men. That's literally not who I see >95% of attractive women date. It's all ordinary guys, financially anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 05:36 AM

No my post isn't wrong because I specifically outlined that extremes don't count. No one is realistically going to make 8 million a year or be a B list celebrity. So I quite literally said the extreme ends don't count. Being homeless or ultra rich moves the needle. Being in the middle class/working class gives you the same dating opportunities as being well off does.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 05:35 AM

I wouldn't say bottom 25%. They stay single, period. Even up to 30-40% in many cases, unless they really lower their standards. The average guy is marrying single moms right now. Below average is staying single.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 03:19 AM
1

chad lite is a 7/10 guy right? That's who they marry in their 30s-40s if not married yet, single moms.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 01:08 AM
1

Lots of single moms still look good. I've seen them reject lots of decent quality men too. You're saying they go from chad down to chad lite. That's still above average.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 07:30 PM
1

Yeah but that's just looking for an excuse. In most places, if you're attractive you'll have options.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 07:01 AM
2

You consider that scientific evidence?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 05:25 AM
1

This just means if you did well with women at 20, then you'll continue to do so a 28. You don't magically become attractive in your late 20s.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 05:24 AM
4

For hot guys, they do in fact get approached by attractive women. It's just not something average men experience. That's why there would be skepticism. But hot guys do get that. It may not always be an abrupt approach. Could be more subtle and indirect but it does happen a lot. Many times it might be a DM (very common).
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 04:25 AM
2

When it comes to 2nd dates. Women will not do a 2nd date largely if they're not attracted to the guy. That's the main reason for not getting a 2nd date. Men will do 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc dates even if they're not attracted.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 04:23 AM
1

No I disagree. Do you have proof or is this your own opinion with no evidence? Men overestimate themselves, underestimate other men but actually overestimate other women. The opposite of what you're saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 04:21 AM
3

This is delusional dude. A 28 year old woman can have hundreds of options lined up begging for attention. A 28 year old guy gets 0 attention unless he's literally hot and even then it's from a couple women, not overwhelming options. The ratio is like 100:1. It's not even a close debate in any scenario ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 04:17 AM
1

On what planet? Any average looking woman is far more desirable than a chad in any age group.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 04:16 AM
1

27-30 on paper sure. Where do you think you're meeting women though at that age? Also 27-30 is too old for 19-20 for example and if you're closer 30 then you're too old for many women in their early 20s. Above that, many women are taken.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 04:15 AM
4

This is so silly. Every hot girl I knew from when I was younger got married to a chad. The super successful guys got with a 5-6/10, some of whom wear lots of make up to try and look hotter. No one dated or married out of their league. Looks are always #1, barring mental health problems.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 04:14 AM
1

That's your opinion. It only counts if most people would agree that the person is attractive. Also, why fixate on rare outliers?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 05:22 PM
2

I didn't say any of that, you just said that. Don't put words into what I'm saying. Experiencing anxiety, nervousness and inhibition happens all the time when the woman is interested. But that doesn't mean they won't try to make it easy.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 06:28 AM
1

Yes you're right. A lot of guys do overrate themselves but they also underrate other men or ignore novel traits in men. Notice all of the "Oh I know guys who aren't hot but with hot women" comments only come from men. Because they see a guy who is really a 7/10 but don't realize it. But they're 5/10 themselves and think they're a 7.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 06:27 AM
-1

You don't. The real answer is that there's been a shift in society towards having unrealistic beauty standards for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 02:22 AM
3

Few problems with your statement. You're saying 5/10 facewise who is overweight, I assume? A huge number of guys who are also 5/10 would be very receptive actually, even guys who are above 5/10. Many of these guys would be muscular and in good shape. So your statement doesn't make sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 02:19 AM
2

That's why you ignore pills. A lot of people just meet by chance.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 02:16 AM
6

How is it not adequate? It explains everything. They make it easy for men they actually want.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 02:14 AM
1

Some explanations. 1) You're overrating the women 2) Underrating the guys 3) Not accounting for masculinity or the "rugged" look 4) Misunderstanding the scenario 5) Microniche interests 6) Mental health problems, this is a huge one you may be ignoring and yes 6) major outliers You won't find a conventionally attractive woman who is mentally healthy, who likes even an average looking guy even if he's richer. Let alone anything beyond that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 05:01 PM
2

I can't speak for women, but no; as a man, you're much more likely to find no one and just stay single. Unless you get VERY lucky, then yeah it won't happen. High standards set men up for failure, other than outliers. But hey some people do love to fixate on rare outliers.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 03:06 AM

People pair up with someone equal to them looks wise and also socioeconomically.

I'm a multi millionaire as I've explained and it has no impact. It only matters if you're looking to be a sugar daddy and pay women allowances and spend thousands on them every month. Women make their own money. A nurse who makes 90k per year can pair up with a hot guy who makes 70k per year and have a combined income of 160k. That is more appealing than a rich guy who she isn't attracted to. Women are out earning men under 40 and are more educated too. It's not the 50s anymore that they need so…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 04:11 AM

I used to get a dozen or so matches daily when I used apps a lot and now I get about the same if I put any effort in. 1 every couple weeks is quite low... The point is that if you're a 5/10 millionaire, you won't be getting hotties interested in you. You get filtered out because you're a 5/10.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:53 AM
3

You're right. Attraction is completely built on genetics. It is not built on anything you can truly control.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:51 AM
0

Yeah exactly. Their looksmatch gives them a shot, ultimately because... hey the guy is their looks match after all and has good money. Then it goes from there. I have never seen a guy go from semi incel status to womanizer. Not even a fraction of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:48 AM
2

I honestly can say I have never seen a guy do that. These guys just end up on sugar daddy sites once they acquire the money.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:47 AM

Be realistic. Even if in shape and not bald, the only women those guys are getting are sugar babies. Minus the odd outlier who is genuinely into older guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:46 AM

My "hoe phase" was in college. Becoming very successful makes it way harder to do the whole hook up thing. Do you mean being a sugar daddy discretely and paying lots of women?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:44 AM
1

Few problems. 1) Match quantity doesn't mean much in this case. In your case it's a lie so you'll never know but how many are truly down to meet and hook up or date? How many will truly follow that? The end success rate is what matters. Yes putting a big title increases success rate on swiping because it makes your profile stand out and she might think "oh interesting." But once she sees a few face pictures or actually sees you in person, nothing else will happen. 2) Obviously your 100x is hyper…

Being employed with a half decent income is just a check box. The conventionally good looking guy is always way ahead of everyone. I know people like to compare homeless people to multi millionaires but it's just coping.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:43 AM

You have far less control over your dating success than you do your finances. It's not even a close comparison.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:32 AM

I'm not into any "pills" but yeah getting into the status level that actually matters (which is <0.1%) is probably harder than improving looks. Getting rich can set you up to be a sugar daddy but won't do anything for actual attraction. So it's an irrelevant pursuit.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:32 AM
0

It's not high at all. I started dating in early high school and never had any issues going out with or hooking up with women on my own level or maybe slightly below me in looks. After becoming a doctor, I got a bit lucky with my position as well as investments and ended up in a very high end position socioeconomically. Basically 0 women actually care and I find any money related talk has been an instant turn off.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:30 AM
0

Status and money won't actually attract anyone though. Notice how men constantly talk about status. The reason is they find it appealing. Women care if you're a pro athlete or a celebrity, sure. Or some microniche they're into. But these are all <0.1% cases. Being a manager making 350k a year is quite literally irrelevant to women. Now if you want to be a sugar daddy, that's different since you're paying for their time. But that is not attraction by any means.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:28 AM
11

A lot of the traits that lead to success and being rich is genetic, and there's a lot of luck involved. None of those things actually change your dating outcomes though. I'm a 7 figure earner and in my neighborhood, most of the men are with very average looking women. Actually I find quite often the guy is better looking. The rest is just a myth and coping.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:26 AM

Men do not have control over their outcome in dating, at all. Every trait that actually matters in dating is genetic, and maybe to some extent a byproduct of your upbringing. The rest is just coping.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:23 AM
1

Unless you're solely talking about elite status (top <0.1% of men), then it's literally not relevant. I'm a high earning doctor, meaning I make very good money even by the most extreme doctor standards, and my dating prospects are unchanged from when I was in college. I still get some attention from average women but I got that when I was 20 and not rich too. Medicine subreddits have lots of "dating sucks" threads too. So yes if a guy who isn't old and making half a million per year is strugglin…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 02:21 AM

That's silly. The level of attention any average woman can get on an app is proof of it. The average guy gets bots for matches. So no it's not male standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:21 PM

I'm speaking about population level facts. People are having less sex and dating less than before. Standards did go up compared to the past.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 06:19 PM

I'm just comparing to how things were in the past. We know people are dating less, having less sex and getting married less. These are facts. Everything has gotten proportionately harder because standards went up a bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 06:18 PM
-1

That's a bit extreme. For one, it's a huge stretch to say most guys even get on the radar of any attractive women, let alone get attention, let alone get interest, let alone get a date and have something come of it. Yes we have the rare outliers who get all the focus but in general it's hot charismatic guys who are succeeding in this category. I think it's more fair to your point to refer to somewhat attractive women. That's where guys who are of decent quality do have to put in immense work to …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:47 AM

As a "super high end guy" in this context, it has a near zero effect on dating prospects compared to being in college and not having money. Real world is not on paper.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 05:50 AM
1

I think men just don't understand what a bonus is. Just because women like something, doesn't mean that it'll make them attracted to you. Women like muscles, money, nice clothes and so on. None of those will magically make someone attracted to you. They're bonuses and can enhance existing attraction. It's like nice rims on a car. It can only enhance the car.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 07:38 AM

Status is not a huge factor in the sense that it's almost entirely relevant for men. Not 100%, but very close to it. Status as in being a partner at a firm or business owner or surgeon or lawyer? Cool, no one cares. At least not nearly enough to sway their attraction on you. Trust me I'm in that group. Status as in pro athlete or truly famous? Yeah this helps. Having a certain niche ? Like a band star. Yeah that can also help quite a bit. The problem is most men don't fall into the latter two ca…

I'm completely excluding gold diggers/sugar babies.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 05:19 PM

Yeah he does well in his league. I'm talking about attractive women only. I've known plenty of players who were just tall, thin and looked average but strictly could only attract average women.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 04:23 AM
1

Money is only relevant when you're paying the woman. Otherwise, it's just a checkbox to have a half decent job. A charismatic 9/10 guy who is 6 feet tall and somewhat fit and makes 60k a year, is hundreds of times more appealing to women than a 5/10 guy who makes 20 million per year.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:45 AM
1

You would need to pay them still. That does not count.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:29 AM
1

That's called a sugar baby. Does not count.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:28 AM
1

I make more than 5 times that and can date 5-6/10 women any day but get rejected by anyone prettier than that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:27 AM
2

A 6/10 guy will get rejected a lot still. Hard to be a player. An 8/10 guy will have women approaching him. Different world.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:26 AM
2

6/10 is not enough if you're a player with attractive women. With women in your own league? Yes your post is correct. Otherwise to have that abundance of options you need to be an 8+ in looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:26 AM
2

Players are all good looking, usually tall but not always. That's all that matters, it's just looks and having charisma/game/personality or whatever you want to call it. Money cannot make you a player. That's impossible.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:25 AM
1

I would say it's more about a guy's appeal to women. That actually does matter in terms of value.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:24 AM
1

You would need to be a 8/10 in looks, facewise. Money is not relevant, unless you plan to pay the woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:22 AM
3

This is all silly. I'm a 7 figure earner and women who are interested will push to split the bill with me and could care less about this stuff. This is all mental gymnastics for guys who can't attract others.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 03:20 AM
1

Couple things to remember. If you have flaws like the nose or have significant balding, you're likely below average in attractiveness. Fixing those flaws likely just elevates one to average. A jawline filler can help a bit, along with a chin implant. But these procedures are almost never making someone attractive. Remember, most average guys who get rejected for their looks don't have any legitimate flaws. Over correction can also be very obvious.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 04:49 AM
1

That's an anecdote. Almost every guy I've known that uses escorts is subpar or average looking and wants hotter women.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 01:59 AM
1

Some do yes. That's another reason why being rich and successful actually makes everything harder.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 01:59 AM
1

That's a myth
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 01:49 AM
1

No paying shows the inability to get sex with someone attractive. If you're not conventionally good looking, it is generally impossible barring outliers.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 01:47 AM
1

On a personal level, I'm strongly opposed to paying for sex in any shape or form. But that's personal. Help me understand why someone doing it is a loser though? That is quite literally the only way for many men to have sex with someone they find attractive. Most guys are not 7/10 in looks and that option is closed off to them without paying.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 01:47 AM
1

There are a massive number of people out there who will sell men the idea that "confidence" and other silly stuff can make a 5/10 guy attractive to IG models or whoever else they want.

Plastic surgery and fillers don't have the same effect on men. I'm a physician myself and have dabbled in cosmetic medicine. Even in very skilled and talented hands, it could look obvious. That is not necessarily accepted in society. Men can get botox and erase some signs of aging but that's about it. Keeping in mind erasing signs of aging does not mean you go above your baseline attractiveness.

The risk is higher overseas

Yeah I would agree
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 04:54 PM

Love and lust and attraction are just brain chemicals. Lusting someone is a dopamine rush. Oxytocin comes in for that love bonding feeling. It can then happen again and again too. But your brain's receptors become less response to these chemicals over the years. Some partners induce stronger levels of these chemicals while some induce less.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 01:21 AM

So what is love then? People over think this in the west and we have massive divorce rates despite apparently being so wise and knowing what "love" is.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 01:20 AM
1

Dopamine, oxytocin, endorphins. It's all brain chemicals. Yes they're different but having lust for someone can also lead to love very quickly. What do you think falling in love even means?

Passport bros also get scammed, kidnapped and robbed.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 01:17 AM

Rural leaning (not very small town) can be easier for men if you're the right "type." You can outperform your looks to a small degree and do well if you're a 6/10 for example. In the city? Good luck with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 01:16 AM
3

I'm average but fit. It does not improve your options. Keep in mind I have options and always have. We are talking about improving your prospects.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 06:44 AM

Right But in the past, the "whole package" gave men a degree of a halo effect. It enhanced your attractiveness. Now? It does not do that anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 06:43 AM
1

So they're handsome lol. You left out the most important part. If they were average looking, they would get zero attention period. You can't just work towards being handsome, it's not in your control. As a guy, being a 7/10 with tons of other qualities is better than being a 8/10 with nothing else. But a 5/10 isn't even on the radar.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:27 AM
1

But "mean peak at 35 bro" lol
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:25 AM

Of course it matters, at least education level does. If the guy himself is educated.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:25 AM

Gym and clothes add very little.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:24 AM

Personality traits are genetic and also a product of your upbringing. Neither of which you can control.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:24 AM
2

It's true that men do not age like wine. But standards have gone up, we literally have statistics that prove there are more single men than ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:23 AM
2

We all have a tendency to apply our biases. The young attractive guys are the ones who would be sleeping with them. The "older rich guys" would get something if they paid for it. Unless they were all escorts, which it sounds like they might have been? Then there is zero chance an older guy would get attention.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:21 AM
3

With no improvement in the quality of prospects. Yes I'm aware the sheer quantity of single people compared to your 30s.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:03 AM
3

I didn't say I can't find a partner. I said my prospects did not improve because your prospects are purely a byproduct of your looks and charisma/personality only.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:02 AM
3

Yes but companionship and sex are still biological needs.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:01 AM

The issue is that the volume of rejections to success has grown a lot. This is not how it used to be.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 01:11 AM
2

None of those is attracting women. Quite literally a nice face and charisma with a 1 bed apartment is going to satisfy what women want. The issue is good luck just getting a nice face with charisma.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 01:02 AM
2

Standards have become skewed. Social media exposes people to attractive men/women a lot. It raises standards. Also women used to be finances in a much more attractive fashion than now. Men have now lost the halo effect that came with success.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 01:01 AM
11

Women look for a guy with a nice face and top notch personality. That's literally it. The problem is satisfying those two things is mostly genetic.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 01:00 AM
3

1) " has no problem" is false. Unless you mean over a span of many years the average guy finds someone. You forgot the rejections along the way. 2) lots of self improvement talk and other things are based around dating above your looksmatch.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 12:59 AM
22

I strongly disagree and I'm proof of that. I'm fit, and very wealthy by doctor standards in my 30s, but I have less dating options than I did in college. I do however appeal to average looking women so it's not like my personality is a big turn off. I know many examples similar to myself. If we went back even 15 years in time, it would be way different. Standards have gone up immensely the past decade. Women just stopped caring about everything else and now only care about looks and personality.…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 12:58 AM

6-6.5 means firmly above average so that's very different.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 06:32 AM
2

No because it's not a sum game where you add things up. The first step is looks and personality/charisma. No one is looking at everything else until you met those thresholds. If I had some big flaws, I would not be appealing to average looking fit educated women. Likewise I wouldn't have been appealing to them either in my 20s. Money/career/muscles have very little impact in that the before and after is essentially the same. I see the same with other doctors too when they're rejected by women wh…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 03:55 AM
2

I said 5-6. So lots of women could think I'm average looking face wise. I'm also not awkward socially but just average personality wise. You're just overestimating how much money helps. Get into the details, how do you think it exactly is a game changer? A 7-8/10 woman will be attracted to and lust for men who are also 7-8/10. Without that attraction and lust, not much happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 03:30 AM

The amount of muscle that's broadly attractive to women is not really that much of a game changer, at all. It's just a small variable that gets too much attention.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 01:51 AM

Yet every bodybuilder or physique guy admits that close to 100% of his instagram stats are from men, and not women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 01:50 AM

That's actually the problem with some women who argue that looks don't matter. They may actually mean it. But to them, looks not mattering = muscular, in great shape and lean, tall, decent bone structure facially. Basically a 6-6.5/10 guy with a nice body is average
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 01:47 AM
2

No I'm 5-6/10 but body wise I'm quite muscular and very lean as well. I was a more solid 6 facewise when I was in my early 20s and hence it was easier. I don't think it boosts anything nowadays. Women have their own money and jobs. They aren't settling for a guy they don't find physically attractive, bottom line. I can attract very average looking women all day long, just like I could 10 years ago. Good looking ones? Not at all. I would say that any guy who isn't good looking also cannot with mo…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 01:44 AM
1

Lol. I never said it was because of that. That wouldn't even make any sense. I'm just saying it plays a very minor role. A 6'3 conventionally good looking guy who makes 50k a year is still far more appealing.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 05:25 PM
1

I think you misunderstood. I go on dates a lot, just have issues with women I actually find attractive. A resident is a doctor who is under supervision. A medical student is still in school. But yes the closer to early 20s, the "easier" it was compared to now.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 04:13 PM
1

I make 7 figures. I've done locums in small towns. Honestly location is not as big of a deal as many think. Small areas = less people but also less competition Big areas = more people and more competition
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 04:08 PM
2

You're writing this story to fit your own narrative. I'm a doctor and my work setting is majority women, of whom I get along with very well too. I don't know what you want me to say though. On here people talk about career and money as if you turn 35 and you're worth 6 million dollars and you're the most appealing guy in the room just by default.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 05:37 AM
4

Using your drive thru example. If that's the only place with food , well you'd still stay in line.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:35 AM
1

Because it's a lot of the pick up artist "confidence" stuff. Being promised that if you do certain things, you can attract women out of your league.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:33 AM
2

Everything I'm listing must be a game changer for it to matter. Are you suggesting that muscles can take a guy from near-incel status to being well liked by women? If so, why so many incel bodybuilders?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:32 AM
2

That's true. That's why the population at large dates and gets married eventually or something along those lines. But we're discussing the self improvement community here, which is a different story.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:31 AM
2

How do you know that though? Keep in mind I have extensive dating experience too. If you think it takes more than nice clothes, nice car and a nice house, then I'm not sure what to say.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:30 AM
3

Comfortable shoes
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:29 AM
2

Your fist line is definitely right. The second part, ultimately what happens is you'll find the overwhelming vast majority of successful men date and marry their looksmatch. I know the sugar daddy examples are what people see online (ex. old Patriots coach and his girlfriend) but those are obvious and also outliers too. For every guy like that, there are hundreds of other rich men including ones in their 30s and 40s, who are with average looking women. Granted educated and more intelligent women…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:29 AM
2

Because it doesn't, in the real world. At least not in any true sense. I'm very successful and had better dating prospects in college. I can say the same for every male colleague as well, if you do an objective and realistic observation.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:24 AM
2

Conventionally attractive where the population at large would have consensus agreement on it. That's the definition used here. I've heard those comments too but ultimately, it's always couples who are actually looked matched. Just because 1 or 2 friends think otherwise, does not make it true. Just use the definition of conventionally attractive where most people would agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/24 01:22 AM
2

It really doesn't. Maybe 0.5. Whenever I've discussed this with women, the response is, "yeah but he needs a nice face too."
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 05:57 AM
3

So I actually didn't complain. I also didn't talk about hypergamy. I'm talking about the audience that the self improvement community targets.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 05:56 AM
3

Because I'm going off available evidence. A firm manager making 175k is not dating out of his league. That refutes your point. But to say having a good job is "attractive" on its own, sure. But just because something is attractive, does not mean it changes much. I'm interested in what is truly a game changer and genuinely alters the outcome. Ex. 5/10 guy going from occasional dates to lots of dates with women out of his league. That's game changing.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:09 AM
1

Appealing in your league, yes. Nothing's wrong with it but the self improvement community is not at all in line with looksmatching.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:07 AM
2

I think the end point is that having visible muscles does not take you from a 4-5/10 to a 7-8/10.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:07 AM
2

So weightlifters should have major appeal to women by that definition.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:06 AM
2

Mentally healthy, I just said that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:06 AM

Botox and fillers are extremely common. Did you not know that? Other cosmetic work is also very common. It's not a huge step at all, it's a very common step.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:05 AM
1

Health = / = looks
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:04 AM
1

"I do it for myself" Lol Would anyone workout or do anything at all if they were the last person in the world? Self improvement is quite literally for everyone else. Women don't wear makeup if they live alone and are home alone all day.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 03:04 AM
1

What do you mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:59 AM
2

Keep in mind I didn't say I'm struggling with finding someone. I've been on lots of dates and pretty much keeping in line with my goals. With that said, everyone I go out with is very average looking and I do struggle to find someone I'm physically into. It was actually much easier in my early 20s. But I do have lots of dating experience. Why does it blow your mind though? I am curious to know.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:59 AM
3

You realize I'm a doctor right, I mentioned in my other posts. A very high earning one as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:56 AM
3

I guess sure, "care" about muscles is not the same as elevating you from a 4/10 to 7/10. We're talking about game changer traits, not this is good or bad. Professional status is another thing. It has an impact if you're someone without professional status looking in from the outside. I'm a doctor in my 30s and have dating prospects, but not nearly as good as when I was in college.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:55 AM
2

"You're wrong" is not really a response in a debate. Your post has no substance.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:53 AM
3

Lots of things are attractive sure. But those things you mentioned won't suddenly make a 5/10 guy appealing to an 8/10 woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:50 AM
1

What happens in the real world is that lots of self improvement attempts get made and the dating prospects do not change. Self improvement is usually targeted at average men wanting attractive women.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:49 AM
1

Thanks for agreeing
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:47 AM
3

"Defeatist" mindset is not the same as being realistic. You want to be told that you can date supermodels?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:46 AM
2

You don't think attractive women want an attractive male partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:43 AM
2

It's not a game changer. There are quite literally massive numbers of incels who are bodybuilders.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 02:41 AM
3

I think the entire idea of "I have muscles and not fat so I'm top whatever %" is silly and highly misleading. Zero from zero is zero. Guys who have all the muscles and zero success, are at zero despite being in whatever top percentile they thought they're in. It's like in the business world where some younger entrepreneurs think if they capture just 0.1% of a mutli billion dollar industry that they'll be rich. Never works out like that. Average looking face is still average with or without muscl…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:26 AM
4

If there's no physical attraction then that turns into a friend zone.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:22 AM
1

All of those things make you an appealing partner in your league. It does not make you attractive by any means.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:21 AM
3

The underlying message is the same. Targeting average men who want hot women.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:21 AM
7

Biggest mistake is assuming the thread is about me, it is not. It's a discussion. The main point is that genetics are what matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:20 AM
1

Leagues are just observations. They aren't literal. You would never see a looks mismatched couple if you only look at normal and mentally healthy people. Hence, leagues.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:19 AM
1

What's the point?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:16 AM
8

Yes that does work. Keep in mind plastic surgery doesn't work for all men. It's a viable option but only for some. The outcomes aren't consistent. It also only really works when there are fixable flaws. A lot of men are 5/10 range but don't have any truly fixable things, aside from perhaps jawline. But anyway I'm glad you pointed out how critically important looks can be for dating and how much of an impact it has. Had you not done that, you'd be told some bs about "confidence" or "game" and get…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:14 AM
7

Lol haha oh come on. So a guy has to spend 5 years versus 1 class?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:12 AM
1

I agree about the part of it being relevant to the woman's life. That's actually key but really that means your status fits the other side's interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:10 AM
3

You keep ignoring the cosmetics part. An average looking woman who gets in shape, gets cosmetic work done and has full make up on will improve significantly. A guy being fit doesn't make you attractive if your face is still a 5/10.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:09 AM
1

How exactly? Relative to my OP.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:08 AM
5

I would argue that getting your foot in the door is the second date and not the first. The first date might just be luck or a fluke or she's bored and your timing is good. The second date is where you've almost proven there's physical attraction. Finding dates may get easier as you get older in some ways, but the quality goes down compared to your 20s.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:07 AM
5

I'm not into any "pills"
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 06:05 AM
2

Leagues are determined by looks though.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:39 AM
3

Those are extremes. I'm saying a truly good looking guy with a very average body is far more appealing than a shredded muscular guy with a 5/10 face.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:38 AM
3

The magnitude of improvement is miniscule compared to make up and cosmetics.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:37 AM
8

I'm in the highest earning percentile for physicians and trust me it has minimal impact. I had better prospects when I was in college.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:24 AM
1

Self improvement topics are aimed at average men wanting to date hot women. What you're saying is, you'll date someone within your league if you do everything right. I mean gee I hope so?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:24 AM
9

Make up, cosmetics, optimal clothing. That has a massive impact for women as far as looks go. For men, you can try hard and you might go from a 5 to a 5.5.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:22 AM
2

Mostly overrated and niche.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:21 AM
5

Self improvement stuff is usually aimed at average men wanting hot women.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:21 AM
5

I'm quite muscular. It's generally non-muscular men who think it helps a lot. Everyone else on the other side knows it has minimal impact. You think the chad type of men are not fit?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:20 AM
2

But did you date men truly below your league?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:19 AM
2

Yeah I guess I excluded very niche things like height enhancing surgery. Keep in mind certain types of status also hand cuffs you. If you run for office but are out hitting on women, that somehow becomes a scandal within 2 days.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 03:18 AM

Keep in mind if these women have lots of options, why would they settle? If you got offered jobs paying 250k, but your education level and skillset was more in proportion with jobs paying 150k, would you decline the higher paying job?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:41 AM

For men, dating/long term counts. In today's age, getting long term dates are also very hard for men too. Lots of men out there want commitment from any woman at all and struggle with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:33 AM

This is very true, assuming you don't have some isolated red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:31 AM

Mostly looks and to some extent a combination of personality and social status (your popularity, how "cool" you are, how well liked you are). For men, height also plays a role. For men it's also mostly things you cannot control. Things you can control play very little if any role in your league (for men). Usually the 2+ point gaps, which almost never happen in genuine relationships, are why leagues are a real thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:31 AM

Yes... escorts do not count obviously. One night stands also do not unless you're constantly hooking up with very attractive people. But dating, including flings/short term does count. That's how you know.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:28 AM

That's why your league is about who will actually be interested in you. A quick one night stand doesn't count, since that can be due to luck and timing.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:26 AM

It's the face dude. Being fit and dressing nicely does not = attractive, at least not for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:23 AM

I think transparency across the board would be good.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/24 06:22 AM
1

That's true but there is some overlap.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/24 03:55 AM
1

A hot tall cool guy making 50k a year is enough for a 8/10 woman who makes 75-80k per year.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/24 03:55 AM
1

why jump to unemployed? You could have a mediocre job and not be a prisoner.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 03:47 AM
1

It's both. You need the hot face and cool personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 03:09 AM
1

Because it's mostly about looks and being cool. Not your employment status.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 03:09 AM
1

Uh huh...
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 03:08 AM
1

Yeah OP you're right. It makes it way more difficult.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 03:06 AM
4

Some people are trying to bypass this it seems.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 03:04 AM
1

On the clock means she's trying to rush you to finish and unless she has great acting skills, it would be extremely obvious she is not attracted to you. Even if she has good acting skills, you'd know she is not into you at all physically. How is that appealing to you? If you're trying to get laid you need: 1) good looks or 2) low standards If you want attractive women only, then yes you have to pay unless you're hot.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 03:02 AM

Philosophy and biology are not the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 02:35 AM
6

That's mental gymnastics. People hook up all the time without a dollar spent on either side. People go on several cheap dates before getting into a fling. I'm not talking about morals. But having sex with someone who has you on the clock and wants you gone asap is not even comparable to someone who actually wants you.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 01:58 AM
1

How are you pretending?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 01:55 AM
6

The other person wanting you, initiating sex, spontaneously becoming affectionate.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 01:55 AM
6

If that works for the person, great. I think most people want genuine desire.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 01:54 AM

The only purpose of biological life is reproduction. The drive to reproduce is innate and induces the human need for sex. I think what you're saying is to dismiss natural innate biological urges, quite literally the meaning and purpose of life.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 01:47 AM
1

Not really. Being curvy or thicker but with a pretty face is way ahead of a thin with very average face.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/24 04:36 AM
3

Here's the issue. You can do all of that, get zero dates and get rejected. Then what?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/24 03:26 AM
2

You have very little control over it. Your looks are mostly determined by genetics and you quite literally cannot go from average to hot. Your personality is heavily pre determined as well. Your height, well that's obvious. I had decent dating prospects in my teens and college years. I've always been in excellent shape and pretty muscular. I'm in my 30s and a doctor but also a very high income one. My dating prospects are quite a bit worse now. Why? Because the dating pool is smaller, standards …
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/24 03:25 AM

But how do you know? Really this is more men comparing themselves to other men. So many guys out there will just assume they're a 7/10 at minimum. In reality, they are 5/10 at the most. But they'll see guys who are a 7 and think those guys are average. You see it on here even with guys who say they're a 8/10 but complain about their dating prospects. You can't be a 8 and have issues getting dates or hook ups. Unless there's some massive outlier thing going on, like being 5'2 tall or having an ex…

Height is honestly a pretty small part compared to facial aesthetics. Lots of 5'8 guys out there who are very good looking have smoking hot partners. meanwhile there are 6'4 incels in their 20s.

I disagree about facing immense number of rejections or even any significant number of rejections across a lifetime. Not even close to true.

You're right but keep in mind if a guy has a 8+/10 face, it actually is extremely easy at that point. Women approach you, chase you and make it very easy. If you're just a bit above average and have a stacked resume, then yes it's still hard like you explain. 8 pack abs, a good job and being tall does not really move the needle as much as you think it does.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/24 05:17 AM

But people don't say this out loud. I think how easy attractive guys have it is kept quiet.

So many extreme examples. Why is it always mcdonalds cashier? At least that's better than homeless. Keep it realistic. It's not hard to have a decent job in your lifetime. As a guy that satisfies requirements for most women.

Being a good looking tall bad boy is what almost all attractive women like and go for. You can't compete with that no matter what.

I do not care one bit if you don't believe it... "SMV" is just a made up concept. There's no such thing. Unless purely in observational terms. What about all the women I've seen who strongly argue that a man's income does not change his attractiveness by much? Yes being homeless and mega rich are extremes that do change your attractiveness, but this is more speaking to ordinary people. The take home point is that men can barely change their appeal to men beyond the basics (hygiene, decent clothi…

Oh cmon. Men, even if good quality men, have to face an immense number of rejections. he doesn't have to devote that long because there is not much he can change. What do you expect men to do? Their hair? Makeup? I fully understand women's issues but please stay on topic of this specific thread.

I said 20s, not just college. All men who are 30, will have been in their 20s at some point. How can it be niche if it applies to all men? My first point quite literally encompasses all men. For my second point, I actually make a lot more than that so it's maybe a personal take on it.

I actually do some of those things. But keep in mind the forum we're on and the topic of discussion. I'm staying in the context of that discussion. Wealth can make you into a sugar daddy but that's it. Unless you're also famous, then you're more of a pseudo sugar daddy.

As someone who has career and wealth in his 30s, what do you think happens next?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/24 01:30 AM

There's not really anything to do necessarily. This is just observational. If we go back even 15 years, a guy who was in good shape and looked alright/average range, not too short, had a good career and so on, could definitely find someone on his own level. Now? He might, but it's way harder and many of these guys get left out. It's no longer holistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/24 01:26 AM

This is not true. No one is seeing 7-8/10 men as 5s... Facially attractive guys who are 7-8/10 have lots of attractive options. It's more that a lot of guys who are 5s think they're hot because they got a haircut and worked out for 6 months.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/24 01:24 AM
1

Not really. Expectations on paper = / = real life choices. Just being hot and cool is enough for a guy to succeed with many hot women.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/24 01:21 AM

Not true. If you're a professional, it can create rumors and gossip and also have negative impacts on your career. There can definitely be consequences for a failed approach.

"Being attractive" is not something that is attainable for most men. But yes you do need to be attractive lol. I have lots of real life experience. I started dating in early high school, I did the whole college partying thing, I was in a frat, I went to medical school, I did various dating apps and have had lots of partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/24 02:42 AM
2

That's not how it works. You can't just add up attributes on paper like an equation and pretend that it gets you to the promise land of success. It's like when people start a business and just think that capturing 1% of the market will make them a millionaire. Doesn't work like that. What happens is if a guy looks average range and loses weight, he'll still come off as average looking in most cases to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/24 02:39 AM

Not sure what country you're in. I'm a doctor (in the US) and >90% of women could care less. Honestly most don't care the slightest. Almost all of my male doctor colleagues are married to normal looking but educated women. There's the odd guy, maybe 1 in 20, who's married to someone slightly better looking but all of the ones that come to mind are also 6'3+ tall and very charismatic. And they're 5-6/10 in looks married to someone who is a 7ish. If you're in a country in Asia I can see how over t…

In real life, dating is not a resume submission. Yes on paper a well rounded mid 30s guy looks great. But the 8/10 woman making 75k a year might have intense lust for a blue collar guy making 60k who is also an 8/10 and has a good connection with her. You might be able to compete if you're also an 8/10. If you're average looking range? You have zero chance. You're right about the connection part but that won't happen with a guy below their league.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 05:51 AM

You living it, n=1 What matters is what's realistic for men at large. SMV is mostly pre determined and there's little you can do to change it. Your looks, height, frame, personality are all genetic largely. Other things you can control are things that men like in other men. I quite literally see hot nurses making >120k/year right now dating construction workers/barbers/tradeworkers. Looks are extremely important for men even in your 30s and beyond.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 05:48 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 04:54 AM

If you're super good looking, of course that happens. So you have model tier looks, were sleeping with below average looking women or are lying. One of those 3 things is true and none are applicable to most guys.

If they're hot, of course they will.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 04:43 AM

2-4 year age gap is accurate. "successful established" just means having a career/house/car but that's a checkbox requirement. It does not give you any sort of advantage. you still need the physical attraction part.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 04:43 AM
2

It's not impossible at all. It's just uncommon. Also, it's still your looksmatch.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 04:41 AM
3

It doesn't mean you become attractive to women though just because you "become a man." The overwhelming vast majority of women in their 20s are into the hot cool guy. If you somehow become a hot cool guy in your 30s, it's become you massively underachieved in your 20s. Those are generally outliers. Guys who didn't get laid in college don't suddenly become sex symbols.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 04:39 AM
3

I'm in my 30s, physician and very well off financially, in good shape and dating is much harder than my early 20s. I get a fair bit of interest from women in their late 20s and up (average looking only) but zero interest from younger.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 04:37 AM

Pull it off consistently? Sure. But attractive guys are literally who sleep with all of the hot women. Those overweight guys are not pulling lots of women. They tell you they are and post photos with women to look like they do.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 04:26 AM
3

Regarding your OP, "above average" for a guy could still be a 7/10. That's not really attainable for a lot of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 03:23 AM

Nothing. I'm saying that women won't admit it out loud.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/24 03:18 AM

Until they hit their 30s, which is above the average age of marriage. Women are not meeting their future husbands over age 30. It happens in their mid 20s or earlier.

But why is it relevant for most men?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:57 AM

That's why it isn't relevant. How many guys will become famous musicians? How many will become a pro athlete star? It has zero relevance for >99.99% of men. There are more billionaires in this country than there are star athletes.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:46 AM

There are lots of bodybuilder incels out there and lots of good looking guys who get laid all the time with hot women who never workout.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:45 AM
3

I would say the main issue is too many average looking men are struggling with women in their own league nowadays. A guy who is a 5/10 having to put in extreme amounts of work to get a couple dates with women who are also 5/10 range, is a bit odd. Many eventually succeed but the number of men who do not has gone up a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:44 AM
1

The ones I've seen with attractive women do have pretty decent looking faces at minimum. In fact i'd say above average. The skinny pale geeky part has zero relevance. It's strictly the facial aesthetics. I don't disagree that some average looking ones are out there with women above their league but yes they're famous and it's a very small niche.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:42 AM

He's a 4-5/10 objectively. Are you saying most men in their 60s look way better than he does? Really? Do you even know what the average 60+ year old looks good?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:39 AM

The women who are "attracted to lifestyle/security" in 2024 are escorts/sugar babies. It's done dude, this isn't the 80s or 90s anymore. Even 2000s-2010s I would believe it to a small extent. But women out earning men is a real thing now.

It used to be but not anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:35 AM

It's attractive yes but it will not make someone like you. If you're dominating a niche or a certain field that a single woman is in, it'll get her attention for sure. But she still has to find you physically attractive. You can have a 200 page CV but it won't mean anything if you don't meet the looks threshold.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:33 AM

It's the halo effect. But few things to remember... hot celebrities, truly are good looking men underestimate others' looks and overestimate their own average looking pro athletes are very tall and in excellent shape many celebrities are not appealing to large percentages of women

The musicians are also good looking themselves. If not, the women they're with won't be good looking either. Only pro athletes bypass looks requirements. But even still many athletes are quite handsome. If they're average looking and their girlfriend or wife is hot, there's a very high chance they're also 6'5 and in excellent shape.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:28 AM

Yeah I think these guys forgot to look at those musicians' faces before commenting. The setting is just an avenue for them meeting.

You're 100% right that lack of it kills attraction. That's quite important for sure. Rest of your post is also top notch.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:23 AM

Niche statuses are not really relevant for >99% of men though. If you're an adult, what are the odds you'll get into a niche and be good at it? Also how many of those musicians are average looking with hot girlfriends? Close to 0. The type of status that truly bypasses looks are pro athletes and being a A and maybe B list celebrity.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:22 AM

Not the total measure of your self worth, sure. But the inability to attract a partner does reflect on one's self worth though. To a major extent. The entire purpose of humans is to produce offspring, at least from a biologic standpoint. If a man cannot attract a partner, which is necessary to produce offspring, then that does reflect on his self worth.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:15 AM

I'm not sure. I think transparency would be helpful. A lot of women don't openly admit that they want a guy with a very attractive face unless it's privately with female friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:13 AM

I think there's a case to be made for guys who are jacked and dress nicely with good hair cuts and do everything right but complain about dating prospects being very overweight or non-existent. You underestimate how much effort guys put into looksmaxing.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 01:11 AM

But why is it so hard now and it wasn't nearly as hard 25 years ago? Heck even 10-15 years ago it was not as hard. I think social media and dating apps have just dragged standards up to pretty unrealistic levels. I can say as a male doctor in my 30s, I quite literally had it much easier as a college student. Even back in 2010, I recall doctors I knew in their early 30s who looked quite similar to me now, having very high levels of success. Nothing like what it was in the 70s or 80s but you were …

It's not that straightforward, especially since we have studies and data now. Today specifically, more people are single. Less marriages, less relationships, less casual sex, more virgins. Yes a lot of people will pair with someone on their own level eventually. But more people than in previous decades, will not. That's the primary issue. A lot of what you see in society is also skewed by those who are a little older. People in their 40s and even 30s to some extent are not really facing the same…

/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 12:56 AM

A good looking tall guy who has attractive women hitting on him will not have the same perspective as someone who gets zero female attention .

/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 12:53 AM

Because the reality is that things that attract women are not things that men can really change much. There are some exceptions (big personality changes, plastic surgery, good facial bone structure that shows itself after fat loss). But the overwhelming vast majority of people do not experience such changes.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/24 12:51 AM

That's true but reaching the looks threshold is not really doable for many. Though it depends. It's quite doable if going for someone who is very average looking who is on the median range for BMI.

Yes they are. I literally said it does not affect everyone. Many guys still find someone on their own level. But the number of single people has gone up by a lot. When you have a big shift in society like that, it's significant. Real life and online dating are very similar.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 12:33 PM

Only with the opposite sex? Why are their social skills totally fine with other men or their employer or just outside in general?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 12:32 PM

Great point. It's strictly failure with women, not with other guys or their job.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 12:31 PM

Perfect people do not exist. Everyone comes with a long list of flaws. It's always about compromise in every single relationship. Keep in mind people are less happy than ever as well. So obviously this current model is a complete failure.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 12:31 PM

It's a generational thing. I've also seen these stretch out to age 35 / men under 35 rather than 30. But yes as a whole guys in their 30s right now do eventually find someone on their own level and same age group. The key part is that the women are also in that age group. As the people in their 20s turn 30 and up, the same thing will happen in that age group.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 03:17 AM
3

No. When you have a big trend like this, it's due to a shift in society. Standards have gone up compared to 1-2 decades ago, quite noticeably. Hence average tier men are struggling a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 01:26 AM
10

The issue is that a lot of average men are struggling well outside the norm. It used to be just speculation but we have data that supports it and mainstream media has even covered it. A lot of it is indeed due to high standards as a results of social media and apps. If women see super hot guys everywhere, it elevates their standards. So across the board, there will be more average men who get left out. Does it affect everyone? No. Many still succeed. But the failure rate is high.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 01:25 AM

I would not say rare. Uncommon? Yes. But there's enough for the hot women for the most part. What I'm saying is the average guys can't move up a league no matter what.

Generally yeah but the hot cool guys get married too.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:45 AM

All true. If you're a solid guy who is average then you can succeed at your own level. I would say in the old days if you had a lot to offer and looked average-tier, you could date prettier women. That's now obsolete.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:42 AM

They're not dating up financially. They're looking for the best looking guy whose also the most charming.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:39 AM

It was easier for sure. As someone in the medical field (physician), being a doctor and looking okay and having a decent personality would all be enough to attract a quality partner back in the 2000s. If you go back another 30 years, you'd always be dating out of your league, but those truly are the old days. Now? It's hit or miss and you could be single for a while if you don't lower your standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:36 AM

Do you have any recent evidence of that?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:33 AM

A big part of your status is how fun you actually are and how others view you. You can't fake it, at least not for very long.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:32 AM
10

For this topic you need to isolate age groups. We know for a fact now that younger guys are more single than ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:28 AM

The normal male experience is not static. It's changed over the years and being single and having less sex is more and more normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:18 AM
2

Being employed, having your own place and a car checkboxes those things though. The problem is that everyone takes a hypothetical hot guy and pictures him as broke and dumb for some reason. That just isn't how it works and we all know that.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 07:12 AM
1

The guys dating the most attractive women I know who also have a decent (or good job) themselves work okay-ish white collar jobs or are small business owners or are paramedics/male nurses. Basically all high 5 figure earners across the board. Keep in mind amongst my examples, some make 6 figures like nurses. How have you seen more attention? Are you disclosing your income to women? Are you overspending on luxuries and posting them online constantly?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 06:55 AM
2

But that's not what I'm saying. My point is that people always have these hypotheticals that if a guy is hot, he must have the worst personality? Like what? There's zero logic in that. You can be hot, average or unattractive and have a great or mediocre or bad personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 06:51 AM
1

I live in Texas (urban) and make 7 figures.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 05:52 AM

I would say past 40, and that's as of now for the current generation of that age group. Again, there's a reason the attractive women in their 20s and early 30s are with the exact same guys you would have thought of in high school and college. Being the fun and good looking guy in the group (or one of them) doesn't just go away at age 23.

But this is all assuming that a guy who is socially well liked and cool and good looking is somehow incapable of being a stable husband. Right?

It's not black and white like that. It's a spectrum.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 04:38 AM

I don't fully understand your argument here. Are you saying there are no beta buxx guys left for them? So they have to settle for a good looking guy who makes 60k a year.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 04:36 AM

It is true that there are more financial constraints. But women are compromising less than ever on how much they like the guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 04:34 AM

I think you need to move that age bracket to late 30s/early 40s for that to be true.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 04:31 AM
13

How common is that though? It's always these extreme examples. Chances are, if he's hot then his personality is likely at least average. People always isolate one variable, like being attractive, then pair it with being broke and having a horrible personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 02:15 AM
1

Age group limitations for men aren't completely by choice. If you're 35, your low end is late 20s and high end is late 30s. Yes some people outside of those parameters will still be interested but it's uncommon. Even late 20s is more difficult if you're mid 30s.
/r/ExRedPill12/06/24 02:12 AM

My point is that exceptions are exceptions. Everyone has a story about some supposed unattractive dude they know who is short and dates models. In real life? Average guys would be auto ignored by attractive women everywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 06:27 PM
1

That's what it takes to be a guy who is older and "sexy" or appealing at least to attractive women in their 20s. I'm just talking about what the redpill says and preaches and a lot of talking points on here.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 06:23 PM
1

Would everyone strongly agree that she's out of your league? I'm just being honest but I occasionally see these kinds of comments or hear about these things and it ends up being a normal looking couple.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 08:01 AM

You realize there are risks involved too, right? It's not harmless.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 07:57 AM

You still need to be attractive enough for that person.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 07:55 AM

"pump and dump" is mostly a myth nowadays and outdated. People have normal hook ups nowadays and women will move along just as often as men will.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 05:38 AM

With all due respect it really isn't that complicated or philosophical. Women like men they're attracted to physically and mentally. The composition of the traits that create induce the attraction are genetic for men and mostly not changeable.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 05:37 AM
1

Oh amazing line. Telling a dumb person to be smarter. That's spot on accurate. Take a person who has to work hard just to pass high school math and with tutoring, cannot get a good grade. Will that person get a graduate degree in math? that's how much of a change in personality you need to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 05:00 AM

Most good looking people aren't complete broke losers though. Having modest/mediocre resources can be enough for many women if the guy is actually attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 03:23 AM
1

The good looking ones are usually not single and go for whoever they find attractive. Yeah if you're younger, have a 8-9/10 face and a doctor, then it's easy but you could be a personal trainer at a chain gym and have amazing dating prospects too.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 03:18 AM

99% of people do not become rich. It's honestly a pointless argument to even have. Having a good career does not make you desirable as a man. It's just a checkbox that is satisfied for women who want a guy with a career. But being Joe the engineer manager or Steve the lawyer doesn't turn you into a sex symbol.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 03:14 AM
0

Economically successful yes. You need to have a mid 7 figure net worth at the minimum to even meet that kind of threshold. I'm in that range, in my 30s, as I've discussed on here. Quite uncommon as a whole. You're right about the status part. What's your point? The status you're thinking of is having 300k followers on Instagram and being an influencer or dating a rich influencer or dating a pro athlete. It's not being a middle manager at a firm.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 02:55 AM
1

You think a woman who is 24 and attractive would pick a 35 year old guy who is well off and looks "okay" and is in good shape , over a 27 year old conventionally attractive and tall guy who is charismatic?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 02:30 AM
1

Which is why the "resources" argument from the redpill isn't actually realistic. It reflects something that is workable rather than genetic.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 02:28 AM
1

Almost everything you can actually change and truly control, is something that men are impressed by. Though men will think it impresses women and women might tell men (honest intentions) that it does. Anything that is genetic or mostly uncontrollable, will be most impressive to women. Things like muscles, career success, a sports car, a nice watch, impress men. You have relative control over these things. Face, height, fame, vibrant personality, are not things you control and are byproducts of g…

I don't know if it's that extreme. I think in the end, it's just average looking average height guys who lift, who still look average to women after adding muscle.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 07:36 AM
6

I never understood what "peaking" meant. At what? Is it a sporting event where you're at peak performance? Looks wealth in their 20s. Wealth peaks in your 60s. "Status" is so relative and doesn't even really peak since most people could care less about what you're doing. Then it's the environment. You can tell yourself that "you've now peaked" at 35, but to who?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 07:32 AM
3

Keep something in mind though. Those desirable older guys were not subpar men in their 20s. The whole basis of the redpill idea is that you can go from a 5/10 to becoming a successful 9/10 in your 40s that everyone wants. Doesn't happen in real life. Also the level of attention you would get is drastically overrated too. As an example... A couple of my doctor colleagues are in their mid to late 40s and definitely good looking by conventional standards. The only attention they get from those unde…

They think that when they're in their 20s. It's easy to be 24 and think you'll be a sex god at 36. It's a delayed gratification fantasy. Thinking that somehow someway, you'll be attracting hotties suddenly. Kids in high school grow up thinking they'll magically be rich "once they're older." Eventually time runs out and it's time to get a job. It's the same in dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 06:35 AM
1

Eventually there is some compromise but don't underestimate how much many women will hold out. What happens everywhere is that ultimately most people fall into the average tier looks wise and pair up with someone who is average but their type. I think the biggest myth in the male community is trying to convince men they can look average but attract hotter women. Often the promise made to younger guys is that it'll happen once you're older, which is a huge myth.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 06:32 AM
2

Certainly for your first 2 points, being equal is very common and the universal rule while only a small percentage of women like much older men.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 06:29 AM
10

What percentage of guys do you think actually think are dumping their wife in their 40s/50s and marrying a younger admin assistant who is good looking? Better yet, how many women in their 20s are actually physically attracted to men that range? It's not zero percent, but it is a pretty low percent. To be blunt, these are always average looking women as well so really the guy is fooling himself.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 06:25 AM
1

Sure but what's that change? Women who are average will end up with men who are average and their type. But no one is compromising on looks. The issue is that when people talk about compromising on looks they essentially means compromising on any and all sexual attraction, sex in the relationship and everything physical. It just doesn't happen. Outside of small niches and pro athletes, no one consistently marries outside of their league. Keeping in mind that niches are feeding certain kinks and …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 06:09 AM
1

Not at all. Attractive single women in their 40s still want a hot guy for marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 03:17 AM
1

It's more the average woman just giving a shot to the average guy and equals coming together.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 02:57 AM
1

Is that even settling? I think what you're saying is the average guy getting with the average woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 02:56 AM
1

i think the number who settle is quite low, it just draws more attention. Look at who attractive women marry. It's always a conventionally handsome guy, often tall-ish but not always and in good shape. I rarely see an exception to this but when it happens, people just ignore the other 99 cases and fixate on the 1 exception.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 02:55 AM
1

No one is settling anymore, at least not much.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 02:51 AM
1

Just to clarify, that kind of physique does take a few years of extreme dedication to develop. It's not something you can develop in 6 months unless you're extremely gifted genetically and already an athlete. Most men will struggle to even look like they workout in normal clothes while walking in public.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 02:38 AM
1

In that case it's the guy maxing out his physique (which puts you in the niche category) and going for a specific subcategory of women who are into that. So yes you're right. But that's just a niche. Like rock band guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 02:16 AM
16

Coming off desperate is a turn off but that only really matters when the woman is on the fence and not really interested to begin with. Otherwise, the desperation doesn't have much of a chance to show itself.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 02:09 AM
8

Accurate summary would be, vast majority of younger women do not like older men. A small percentage do.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 04:40 AM

I would think that conversational skills are quite important but may have diminishing returns. A good looking face gives you incredible leeway though for everything else. Obviously there is no magical formula for having a spark but there are really only a couple important pieces. As someone who became very wealthy, I think it has minimal impact. When I had noticeable improvements in my face into college, my dating prospects had a dramatic level of improvement. When I became wealthy, I did actual…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 04:31 AM

Those things are just a byproduct of your environment, neuro chemistry and general success. Lets assume average brain chemistry, well chances are then your mental health is likely to fall in the normal range. Self confidence is mostly a product of your known success in that area. Academically gifted and studied? You'll be confident coming into an exam. Star athlete? You'll be confident in your sport. Good looking and charming? You'll be confident with women since it'll come naturally.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 04:25 AM
1

Absolutely, men do overrate themselves. My point though was that a guy going from a BMI of 31 to 27 is unlikely to go from a 5/10 range to 7/10 range in looks facewise. It can happen with the right bone structure but it's unlikely overall. Couple other things... men like to pretend it's the "whole package" that counts, when it isn't women might go with that idea publicly too, though individually will admit that it's just looks/personality that matters in the first few dates
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 04:22 AM
1

So if a guy who is 5'9 and looks average, loses weight, he's suddenly attractive to women who are 7/10?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:58 AM
2

Internal self like what?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:31 AM

When I said 5/10 I was strictly referring to the face. I find the perception of average looking highly applies on men if their face is average-tier.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:31 AM
4

Which of those things help with getting the first couple of dates though? A lot of this is more about the phase after that.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:29 AM

Does it make a guy who is a 5/10 appealing to women who are better looking than him? Or does it make him more appealing to women who look very similar.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:08 AM

It's just one example of many. Just look at it as "income increase" then.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:07 AM
4

I agree with your last sentence for sure. Also while yes getting to a healthy BMI is self improvement when looking at national level statistics, that isn't the perception that women have. A woman who is in average shape herself and has a modest BMI will generally consider an average looking guy with a normal BMI to be.... average. It's not a linear competition and men are always competing with other men who are better looking and taller. The reason I didn't talk about social skills much is that …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:05 AM

Does it truly alter the man's dating prospects by a noticeable margin?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/24 03:00 AM

It's just an example. Actually as a doctor, similar income increases within 1 year are very common. Ex. going from 60k to 450k is extremely common in medicine since as a resident you make in the 60k range and you start off with a high income your first year as a staff. Many business owners who make it big can have much more dramatic increases.

The richest guy in history is somehow applicable to everyone lol
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 07:05 AM

Yes that's true. But you won't be rejected in person if you're taller than her, unless you're borderline to begin with. If she thinks you're hot and cool, it's a done deal. I know countless guys who are 5'8 and very good looking dating extremely pretty women. I almost never see a tall guy dating out of his league.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 07:03 AM
12

Some guys who are short are obsessed with height and think that's the only issue. Because it literally is not fixable. Truth is, it's important, but not nearly as important as the guy's face.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 07:02 AM
4

For a lot of guys, the in-person version is not any more appealing either.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 07:01 AM

What's the surprise in average looking men eventually finding an average looking partner? Some average looking women are totally fine dating average guys who are appealing in other ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 07:00 AM

FYI I'm a dude, casually dating. I think the broader point I'm making is that there isn't a huge financial threshold to meet. This country has enough opportunity to at least not be broke. You can do a drink or coffee date. You can go for dinner or a movie on subsequent dates. An average car is not a massive achievement to meet. I think this is just grasping at straws for what is really just meeting the threshold of being a functioning adult. So in other words if we're saying that you need to be …

/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 05:07 AM

How does it mean she's more willing to settle if she's rejecting wealthier guys for average income types who are better looking? That just means the priority remains on the "cool guys" who are hot.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 05:06 AM

I'm in my 30s and a doctor. If you seriously think you need anything more than a drink or a coffee date for a 1st date... I'm not even sure what to tell you. You can go out for a very nice dinner and that isn't going to make her like you. Neither is a nice car vs an average car. Guess what happens on a date regardless if it's at the bar or coffee shop or dinner? She has to look at your face and talk to you. If she doesn't like both of those things, the amount of luxury you put out will have no i…

/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 04:43 AM

I think you missed the key point. What if the woman is very average looks wise and also somewhat overweight? Yes what you're saying happens but I'm just talking about dating. I'm not naive at all. I quite literally have made your exact points on here. In my workplace for example (I'm a doctor), a lot of the nurses who are in their 20s or early 30s and single are easily making 6 figures. Some might just under 6 figures but that's besides the point. Quite literally all of the good looking ones go …

The guy that attractive women go for is conventionally good looking, slightly taller, has tattoos, is lean, has a vibrant personality and is not unemployed. This basically sums up the ideal man. The guy that career oriented women go for has very similar looks to them and also has a good career. Everything else you can scale down proportionately.

Making good money and having muscles is basically the upper limit of self improvement for men and it still yields minimal results. Yes as you say, "gymcels" with good jobs. But even with approaching and putting in lots of work, the success rate will be very similar to before. I was in college and had muscles and certainly was not short. I had an okay success rate, but still on the low-average range. As a doctor now, I have even more muscles and high end financial success. My success rate is actu…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 03:15 AM

Improving your social skills is even harder than making your face look better. Looks are a huge #1 for men as a whole since many of these guys want a hot girlfriend. So the first prerequisite for that, is being hot yourself as a guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 03:12 AM
1

The truth is if your face still looks pretty much the same and you have the same personality, then your dating prospects don't change much. You can hit the gym all you you like. Guys get all the muscles and make good money, then get rejected for a thin guy who has no significant muscle mass at all and works a blue collar job.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 03:10 AM
1

It doesn't really matter whether or not we're controlled by impulses. Looksmaxing is the only piece of self improvement advice that actually translates to any success but there's incredibly diminishing returns on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 03:08 AM
2

Self improvement is mostly just in your head. There is very little you can actually do to make yourself more attractive. 1) You can't change your league 2) Most things men work hard on, women don't care about
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 03:06 AM
3

There is not that much you can control besides actually putting in effort to pursue. Self improvement is actually a huge time waster.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 02:58 AM
1

If you're average looking and want someone hot, then you also would.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 02:50 AM
4

If a woman likes you, you can get away with spending 0-20$ in total cumulatively on your first several dates. A coffee date, walk in the park and hanging out at one's house are date options that work quite well if she's attracted to you. It's when there isn't much attraction that men try to force it with money. Shortly after it fades away and you're left 300$ short that you spent on a dinner that was not even necessary.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 02:46 AM
8

Men will say that dating is transactional because that's their interpretation of it if they're unable to get any dates. So you convince yourself that it's an exchange of money.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 02:44 AM
1

I think this is what people say when they struggle with dating. If women are attracted to you and like you, you won't be "paying" much.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 02:43 AM

By doing what?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 08:18 AM

Nothing that extreme no. Height is important but absolutely not the same as face.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 07:14 AM

That's correct. It is a bonus though if the girl already likes the guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 07:13 AM
-1

They're trying their luck with as many women as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 07:11 AM

Not that you're fully wrong. But for a guy it's more, conventionally handsome face and lean with a fun personality. The other requirements never really apply. But all in all what I'm saying is even harder to achieve.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 07:10 AM

How?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 05:20 AM

You're free to believe that. I'm simply stating for others that it is 100% not the most or second most important thing. But again, you can believe that if you like.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 05:19 AM

Potato faced 6'5 guys would get zero play even with average looking women. A good looking 5'7 guy would have hundreds of tinder matches in a couple of weeks to choose from. I would relax on your height obsession. Facts are facts. Feelings are feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 05:01 AM

You think a 5/10 guy can get a hottie? Why would the hot girl go for a 5 or even 6/10 guy when she has multiple 8+/10 guys who want her? That's my issue with this logic. Why would those women reject the prettier men?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:59 AM

Zero difference between hiring an escort or sugar baby in the US and doing that. Those women have zero attraction towards those guys. I'd actually bet that being a sugar daddy in the US would be more legitimate.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:58 AM

Yeah bro your one friend is all the proof we need to explain everything. n=1 and you saying she's an 8/10. Height just gets a lot of talk because it's less offensive than talking about the guy's face.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:54 AM

Who settles for who?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:52 AM

5'3 is a bit different. Try more like 5'7 and up. The thing about face is that you're guaranteed success with attractive women. With height? You're absolutely not. The fact that incels/virgins who are 6'4 exist proves that.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:50 AM

You think those women like those men any more than an escort does in America?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:48 AM

A girl who is a 8/10 will auto reject a tall guy who is a 5/10 because of his face. He won't even be a consideration. Whereas I've commonly seen 7-8/10 guys who are 5'7-5'8 with 8/10 girls. It's not uncommon at all. A pretty face is what leads to the initial lustful attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:48 AM

The 6'5 guy you're talking about is going to be with average looking women at the absolute best. The good looking guy at 5'7 can attract high numbers of attractive women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:46 AM

It's an easy filter to use. But until you can explain why there are tall incels/virgins and why tall guys get rejected by prettier women, then height being #1 is not remotely true. A nice looking face is miles more important.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:45 AM

Nope wrong. Lots and lots of tall incels out there. Attractive incels do not exist. Even with poor social skills, you'll still have women coming onto you.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:43 AM

What do you suggest guys do?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:42 AM

I really don't understand. You expect women to reject men who want them but are more attractive then them? What are they supposed to do? I've talked about unrealistic standards on here before and that an okay looking guy with a good career would have had it very easy 40 years ago but would struggle today because of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:41 AM

Only when there's a big problem with those things and they're holding you back. Body fat reduction works well if you have good underlying bone structure. Hairstyles and facial hair work slightly but only if it works well on your face and is a big change from before.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:27 AM

It's important but not nearly as much as the face. If you're 5'7 and good looking, you're still going to be very successful. A very nice face at 5'7 is way way wayyy ahead of an average looking 6'3 guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:26 AM

That's not realistic advice, even though I do think you should do all of those things. If you're average looking, all of those things still keep you at average. Bone structure is what determines your looks, not a haircut. Again, the problem is that guys who are 5/10 will start lifting and improving how they dress. They'll make nice progress but still get rejected by women who are 7+/10 at the same rate as before.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:24 AM

That's just the reality of things in 2024. What can an individual do? You can adapt or you can give up or keep trying for hotter women and getting rejected on 50 out of 50 attempts. If you give up, there are dozens of men taking your place instantly. It's also not an exact science but as a guy if you're a 5/10 then yes 4/10 is still your league. But in my post I said that once you self improve, you'll find someone very similar to you as well. Average guys do want to pursue hotter women though an…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:19 AM

Standards are directly a product of your options. As a guy, if you had lots of models interested in you then that would be your minimum standard. Women's standards are based off of the men interested in them. It's the guys who drive up those standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:16 AM

Why do women have high standards? It's men who drive those standards up. I addressed it in the OP, there isn't much that an individual can do. You simply have to adapt.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:14 AM

Lots of those countries have prevalence of crime towards those tourists and the women aren't exactly attracted to the guy either.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:13 AM
2

unfortunately this sums it up well.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:16 AM
3

That's not good advice. There's a whole movement now against talking to women in the gym and that can be extrapolated to all similar settings. Lots of ordinary guys get labeled as creeps if they approach someone in the gym. What you're saying would work if the guy is conventionally good looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:14 AM
-1

As a guy if you lower your standards pretty low, then you'll eventually be successful. That's the key advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:11 AM

When people say confidence is the most important thing, and I've heard that a lot, that's generally what they're suggesting. That it's somehow the difference between a generic average guy and a playboy. Anyway your 2nd paragraph is correct. It can move you up or down slightly. But if you're a 5/10, you have zero chance with an 8/10.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 06:01 AM

That's not what I said at all. You said all of that, not me. I'm disputing that you can go from average to moderately attractive. That sets up false expectations. It's like telling someone they can go from a 50k job to 500k if they just work hard. How realistic and likely is that? False hope and unrealistic expectations are why society at large is unhappy. Everyone got told they're special and going to be someone important as a child. Self improvement really will work to help in your own league.…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 05:59 AM

I don't think you should approach someone working. Quite an uncomfortable situation. But I think some men may look at it is... well you can't approach at work, can't approach at the bar, don't use dating apps, don't cold approach on the street. But hey you can't sit at home either and not try! Now if it's a chad type who is approaching, they should indeed approach everywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 05:55 AM

Unless you're mega rich (high 8 figure net worth at the minimum) or a true celebrity or pro athlete, then not a chance.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 05:51 AM

Confident + average looking = friendzone
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 05:50 AM

This only happens on the internet it seems. I used to party a lot in college. I've traveled quite a bit and lived in different states. I work at a larger hospital now with all sorts of people and attend many social events. I've also frequented the social media scene quite a bit. I've yet to see this phenomenon of not so great looking guys pulling attractive women. I've basically never seen it, unless there was a catch. Have you always concluded that it was in fact what you thought it was? I've s…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 05:49 AM

Good take on this but keep in mind this is not what people say when they talk about confidence. so yes you're right But people talk about confidence as if a guy can be a 5/10 and just pick up attractive women every weekend at the club or date models just because he is "confident." That's just a bunch of nonsense. Indeed it lets you outcompete men in your own league, for women at your exact looks level.

There's no reason for most people to suddenly fall apart. Can some? Sure. I think there are people who will put in lots of effort to find exceptions to use as their proof. In reality, the big majority of attractive people at 18 remain attractive at 32 for example. Ronaldo is a unique celebrity, not much of a point in debating him. He was attractive in the past too and yes got more attractive. I don't subscribe to any specific pills. I only care about what has evidence and logic behind it. My opi…

Think of it this way. If you're a tall conventionally good looking guy, or even if average height but a very pretty face, you can basically be guaranteed that if you walk into a room that the prettiest women will be into you. All of them? No. But most? Absolutely. It's like that meme "you just have to say hi." I mean yeah if you're truly attractive, that's all it takes. Then you just need to check box a few easy things (not being a wierdo, having a normal job) and you're set. Now if you're more …

Peaking in high school does not mean you rapidly fall apart later. What's the argument anyways? That if you were very average in high school, that you can become a chad by age 35? Women look for more, of course. But that's the very first thing they notice. You can't get to the third thing if you're stuck at first. It's like trying to get a job that needs a graduate degree when you only graduated high school.

Listing off requirements is great and fun but real people aren't wired to think in formulas. I do agree that people have these hypothetical lists in their mind. What happens in real life is women will see a hot tall guy and become attracted. If they're also compatible to some extent, then things go forward. But if a guy approaches them and they don't think he's hot to them, things won't proceed any further anyway. The less attractive the woman is, then the more leeway the guy gets to impress wit…

If you swipe on any dating app, there are lots of attractive women in their 30s. There's no rigid formula. Lots of them will wait for the chads in their 30s. Some succeed, some don't and stay single. No one is lowering their standards nowadays.

No and I have an extensive dating history, though largely just attracting average looking or chubby women. The latter of which I'm actually into though. But little luck with prettier women. It's much harder now because options are limited and those things don't actually carry any weight like people think they do. I used to mentor some medical students/pre meds and once they graduated, they'd often come up to me and ask why their dating prospects didn't improve at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 03:43 AM

Average men do yes. The good looking men definitely do not. I find attractive men are aware of their looks and will try to enhance it as much as possible to maintain and improve that advantage. 24 year old Chad who only had a good looking face now has a top notch body as well at age 32. People in general, men and women alike, often assume they're the only ones who are progressing at something and that no one else is. That's just a natural mindset to have though so no blame there. Now even if you…

I also really think that people think attractive guys/chad types/whatever you want to call them, just don't exist after age 30. That a guy who was a 4-6/10 just takes their place somehow? Like I never understood the logic.

Yes I'm in that bracket as I've explained in other posts, and I try to tell men on here that money is quite literally only relevant for sugar daddies. I get told I don't know what I'm talking about but I never get told why.

Having a nice face as a guy means you're completely set, even if you're short and make 50k a year. There are plenty of attractive women who are 40 and have dozens of top tier guys nonstop DMing them.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 05:11 AM
2

Competing with younger women for the Chads who turned 30+ you mean. The age thing is extremely irrelevant to most guys. Nothing changes, you still need good looks, game and reasonable height. No one is competing for the 4-6/10 guy who is 5'7 and goes to the gym, just because he's 33 or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 05:08 AM

I find there is a higher prevalence of mental health problems in those in their 20s dating older men. Many can become problematic if there's a bad break ups, even for short term flings. Good luck if you're in a actual career.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 05:01 AM

Pickier about looks as well. Those women are still looking for 30 year old Chad. But yes they expect him to have his shit together too now. I think guys just think the Chad types just disappear and vanish by their 30s???
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 05:00 AM

Where do older women complain about that? Is there evidence for this? Younger women almost entirely date and marry guys their own age. You're talking about niche/minority groups who are into older guys. If we're talking anecdotes, most successful guys I know in their 30s who are single have married single moms. Others met someone in their 20s.

What country are you talking about then? Also what percentage of this subreddit is what your country? Hence relevance of discussion. Also, there's data to support what that poster is saying. Do you have data to support your position? Your friend group is not national level data.

They think they'll turn 30 and all of the sorority girls who didn't even look their direction will come running because they're..... 30? and lifted some weights and .. (going to be very idealistic here) have a 130k/year management job. Keep in mind the latter will be a tiny percentage of men at that age. But it'll actually have zero value for initial attraction.

I had extreme levels of success in my career and finances and dating got way harder. That's because I actually did reasonably well in college and in my 20s , and naturally it just got harder by the time I turned 30. I wasn't a Chad at all either. Big time success will help you find *someone* which is better than absolutely nothing in your teens and 20s.

This is so untrue man. At 30, your pool in theory is perhaps 20-35 and in real life it's more like 26-31. Only a small number of women would even consider dating a guy that much older at age 20. Then you need to eliminate: women who don't already have a boyfriend/fiance/husband (massive number at this point) those with mental health issues and very extensive baggage +/- single moms if that's not your thing The actual number of single women who are interested in dating a a guy at that age is actu…

Peaked at what though? High school and college is prime time to have fun. You have the least responsibility, and a big chunk of your time is spent socializing and chasing girls. It's not something to celebrate if that time was wasted. Yes being 30 has many advantages, I'm in my 30s myself. But good luck recreating some of those opportunities. Not to mention fresh dopamine receptors.

The context of the conversation is in regards to being a bodybuilder/gym rat. There's a difference between being lean and in good shape and being very jacked. I'm talking about the latter. If having a good physique was such a big game changer, then the term "gymcel" wouldn't even exist. Instead, guys go to the gym, get an exceptional physique with lots of hard work, and have zero changes in their success rate.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:29 AM
2

A lot of those guys are putting in massive amounts of effort just to get laid a couple times a year. That's barely a step up from being an incel.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:23 AM
2

That's also quite rare. The very odd time you see a guy who isn't good looking, getting attention from women. Then people will be like, "see! you don't need looks!" But in reality, those are huge exceptions. I also would say that being average looking still makes it extremely hard.

Seems like a lot of work just to maybe get one woman interested who may reject you after date 1. Dating apps are still far more efficient per time.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 04:06 AM
12

Maybe if you're talking about the most extreme incels who haven't kissed anyone by their late 20s perhaps. In today's age, incel is basically an umbrella that includes non-virgins who just have extremely low success rates but still have sex maybe a couple times a year or have had 1 or 2 girlfriends. When you include everyone, you'll find that so many of them have in fact put in lots of effort. The bigger issue is that standards have just gone up.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 04:05 AM
1

While the desperation part is true, no one is doing those things to get women. Guys who actually make good money (high 6 figures and up) are still good at something. Just like guys who actually get in good shape. You're just talking about a high schooler's mindset.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 04:03 AM
2

I truly don't mean this to be offensive but as a guy who makes way more than 6 figures, it's simply because when you "aren't there" then it's easy to come up with hypotheticals on what will happen once you make it. So someone who makes 5 figures, will have this hypothetical idea that once they get rich they'll magically be super appealing. Then you fast forward and they made it, but they're still not appealing.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 04:01 AM
8

I'm a doctor and very few women care. Those kinds of things mattered a few decades ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:58 AM
3

A nice body is literally a bonus at best. Lots of women don't even care. The only women who care about a guy's physique are those who are hardcore into fitness. Women make their own money and can combine it with a guy they actually like. The ones who actually want financial help, get a sugar daddy. So yeah making 6 or 7 figures doesn't move the needle.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:56 AM
3

The elephant in the room is that if a guy is a 4-5/10 in looks, then he'll pretty much always fail when going for women above that level. By lowering his standards, then he'll bypass lots of rejections. You can't improve your league.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:54 AM
1

How do they do that? Self improvement is very narrow and limited in actually making a guy more appealing to women. Almost everything is pre determined.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:53 AM
5

Dating is just a byproduct of your face, personality and your dating pool + height to some degree. You're incredibly limited in what you can actually improve to change the outcome. Selling false hope is a big issue with the self improvement stuff.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:52 AM

What interesting hobbies for men aged 20-40 can greatly increase your odds with dating? Even if you meet someone, it's quite similar to a tinder match. Apps can be kind of nice in that you bypass the >90% of women who don't like your face and height. Otherwise you're looking at so many rejections and friendzones to find someone into you .
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:44 AM
3

The social life part does but it's mostly just incremental. A guy with a good looking face and fun personality is still miles ahead.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:42 AM
-6

Because those guys also had nonexistent standards. Most incel men are incels because they want someone who is above average in looks. You could argue that incels who look like they workout aren't wrong to go for women in decent shape but the fact remains that the face is what matters for men. Women who are fit can be picky.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 03:28 AM
20

I disagree. Did you never go out to bars and clubs? If you paid attention, there were lots of incels everywhere. There are also many who go through long phases of cold approaching. Many of these guys try hundreds of times, fail, and go home and complain. Some of the guys who have average-tier looks with okay-ish lifestyles will hook up and date overtime but the sheer volume of rejections also brings them online to complain.

It's a one, two punch. You need a face that's attractive enough to the woman you're going for. This can be extremely hard for the majority of men. When someone does give the guy a chance, then the personality part comes in. If the guy's face is just barely meeting the threshold, then this aspect needs to be quite good. But for a better looking guy, just a decent personality is fine. Then later on things like finances tend to come in. A nice body is a bonus. The issue is that people obsess over t…

It's your face and personality, like a 60/40 split basically. In some cases it could be 50/50 but for attractive women it could even be 70/30. Obviously not exact numbers, but point is that it carries more importance. The reason that kind of advice doesn't ever work is because muscles are way overrated and money only matters if you're a sugar daddy.

Great hobby but are men truly meeting women doing this?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 05:48 AM

Few reasons. One is less single women, so that's easy. Just less options. Standards for looks have gone up as well and being okay looking is not nearly enough. The manosphere says money matters a lot but pay careful attention to who is saying that. Is it men who are wealthy? Or is it men who want to be wealthy and idealize wealthy guys? It's always easy to say something is very important if it doesn't really apply to you. For example, before becoming a physician I did think that I would suddenly…

I'm in the top 0.1% for those in their 30s. I don't really know what you're saying. That someone making 700k a year is going to buy a nice car but someone making 70 million isn't? Why? If you like cars, you'll get them. If you don't, you won't.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 02:57 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 06:39 AM

Other than the appearance and height portions, none of those things directly translate to success though. Dating isn't a job search with a resume. Being good on paper can equal zero success in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 06:37 AM

We have plenty of data showing that huge numbers of women are choosing option A. Indeed there is a lot of pickiness about looks and having the perfect chemistry and spark, which really limits options. Option B doesn't mean betabuxxing. A woman making 75k a year finding a guy who makes 80k a year is not betabuxxing. That's just combined normal household income.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:55 AM

The end outcome isn't any different. An older hot guy, say 36 years old, will get the 28 year old for example or 30 year old. The point is that the average looking guy in his 20s is not some catch in his 30s.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:45 AM

This is just true on paper and in the redpill world. A moderately attractive woman at 25 will still look good at 35 and 45. They will continue to get lots of male attention from all angles. There's also zero chance about that guy they didn't want at age 25 suddenly being a reliable partner. That's exactly what I'm saying doesn't happen. You think the hot guys suddenly vanish? No, that's who they'll ultimately marry. the whole idea here is that attractive men don't vanish.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:36 AM

No the big picture priorities don't change and the outcomes don't change either.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:30 AM

Two things to consider Looking for different traits can easily be very minor things Just because you're looking for something on paper doesn't mean that's what they'll ultimately pursue. What happens when they meet a hot guy in his mid 30s who is very charming? Then it's date 6. You think she'll dump him?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:27 AM

You mean getting a man who is high quality to commit. There are lots of average tier guys who would commit very quickly. Building yourself up is just silly coping. You should do it for sure, for yourself. I had a good time in my teens and early 20s. Certainly not a chad but had a good time. A decade later and I'm a doctor and very well off financially, and in excellent shape and dating is 10 times harder and that's being generous. I
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:24 AM

While I agree with your definition, I think you need to include single moms if you're talking about plenty of such women. You also need to include mentally healthy. Now the number can get quite small.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:20 AM

Why do you doubt it? Like who else do you think they go for? A guy who is unattractive? And no, but if you come down to average looking it's just going for ones on their own level.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:19 AM

So what marker should we use then? Just whatever number people want to make up online?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:18 AM

I find a lot of them remain single as you say. Almost no one is settling down with a guy below them in looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:17 AM

Yeah I found it easiest in my early 20s. I underwent probably the biggest amount of self improvement there is and dating/rejections are much worse in my 30s.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:16 AM

How does it get much easier for a guy? Most quality women are taken. How many quality women do you see at age 30 without a ring?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:16 AM

Average age of marriage says otherwise. Statistics are facts, the rest is just made up.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:15 AM

I haven't seen that at all and have enormous amounts of experience. Women are not settling. They're still going for the optimal match.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:14 AM

I literally see attractive women in their early 30s dating the same type of guys as they did in their 20s. Who else exactly do you think they go for?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:13 AM

I don't think they catch up at all. Do you have any proof of this? A 30 year old pretty woman can go on dating apps and have a few hundred matches. A 30 year old guy can go on dating apps and get.... a handful of matches including bots.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:12 AM

The outcomes are honestly very similar. You're not attracting someone better in real life vs apps. It's the same final outcome.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 03:08 AM

This is so untrue unless you mean women literally approaching you and asking for your number. But they will make it extremely easy. It'll happen at the workplace even if you're actually handsome and tall.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 03:07 AM

This person does not exist. But I promise you that a tall attractive 24 year old with a good career will have women coming onto him. Especially in the corporate world. It's a guarantee. It'll happen and will happen within weeks and happen repeatedly.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 03:05 AM

Few possibilities Jake doesn't exist (most likely) . I'm very wealthy in my 30s and I still acknowledge that 100k a year at age 24 in finance is very rare. Now what are the odds that this person is also 6'2, blonde, handsome and in good shape? The odds are astronomically low. There is a critical flaw that isn't noticed upfront Not heterosexual
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 03:03 AM
1

i think it's more that a single mom still has so many options that being "less desirable" is a non issue. Attractive single moms literally have so many options that being less desirable is meaningless.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:59 AM

I quite literally have known thousands of professional women. My medical school had 220 students, x4 years. I've met new doctors constantly over time. I've met lawyers and business owners. I have a pretty big sample size I'm drawing conclusions from. I didn't say they're dating someone working at Mcdonalds. but it's a complete misconception that they're looking for someone "above their level." It's also a coping mechanism for many men. "Oh I got rejected by her because I don't make enough money"…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:57 AM
1

Outside of sugar daddies, it's a myth. A woman making 60k can combine her income with a guy making 70k.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 02:41 AM
2

You're looking for outliers to make a broad statement. That's not how it works... Lots of women are attractive to a large percentage of the male population and vice versa. Saying it's subjective is usually coping for guys who are 5/10 or less. No amount of subjectivity will give that guy lots of options with more attractive girls.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 06:26 PM
1

Not really. Your typical hot girls are into conventionally attractive men. It gets "subjective" when you go down to average looking people and try to find something you like.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 05:01 PM
6

You're right but these things are also objective. If I have a Phd and good job skills with no red flags, but I'm forced to take an entry level job... well true the free market is giving that. But it's not objectively reflective of what I should be hired for. Likewise, a pretty solid well rounded guy can face many challenges in dating that are unrealistic by any true standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 07:46 AM
0

Right. Standards are just unrealistic and for men it's really out of your control.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 07:04 AM

Lets just not forget that a mid 20s conventionally good looking guy is at the peak of male sexual attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 06:04 AM

What is?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 06:03 AM

That 1 in 20 will also have very high standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 06:02 AM
1

Everything you said is true. My main point is that there just isn't an alternative option for many men. If you're a guy in your 30s and fairly successful and look okay (not necessarily good looking facewise) then that may be what your options narrow down to. In my experience, lot of these guys will try younger women and get rejected nonstop. They'll go out with single moms who might be slightly good looking and with single women who might be quite a bit less attractive. And that's who they're ul…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 05:58 AM

Why? Status only counts like that when it's <0.01%. But you're right about the second part.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 08:18 PM

Chances are you weren't subpar looking in your 20s though and didn't magically develop a nice face in your 40s. A lot of younger guys in their 20s get sold the idea of suddenly becoming attractive once older. Makes zero sense. Not to mention that a hot guy who is 25 will easily outcompete an okay looking 40 year old who is rich.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 08:18 AM
13

I find women are more honest privately. For example, my female friends will quickly admit how important looks are (face wise). But it's hard to do in public and it's usually "looks aren't everything."
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:53 AM
6

It used to be just those men but there are a lot of average tier men who are decent in other aspects of life who heavily struggle too.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:43 AM
3

It's just gotten worse the last few years. A lot of this stuff has always existed though. But we know for a fact that more people are staying single.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:42 AM
2

Exclude the sugar babies first. But if you see my other reply, you need to remember that the 40 year old guy dating 24 year olds is almost always good looking himself. This is not just "stay in shape and get a haircut."
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:34 AM
2

The big point though is that attractive girls in their 20s almost always want the chad types. That's who they date and marry. We're ignoring the overwhelming majority and focusing on some outliers. The ones dating older men are still looking for good looking older guys. It's just 40 year old chad now instead of 25 year old. If you're a 40 year old attractive guy, it's just a continuation of everything. But we sell this idea to young guys that you magically go from average looking to super hot on…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:33 AM
4

You're magnifying what is ultimately a small number of girls. The human brain is literally wired to fixate over exceptions and outliers. There's no question a small percentage like older men. But it's a small percentage. Now exclude the ones with daddy issues and mental health problems. Then exclude those wanting a sugar daddy.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:29 AM
8

Coping is really a big part of this. So many guys in their 20s get sold this idea that they'll magically peak in their 30s and 40s. I mean great, you "peaked." At what though? And to who? Not to 23 year old women. The cute guy they know who makes them laugh is who they're into. Not the 38 year old firm manager making 140k with a small belly, mediocre face and zero charisma.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:27 AM
6

Dude there was women in their early 50s who have chads chasing them. I don't think you have any idea how desirable women remain.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:20 AM
8

Almost all of the hotter women in their 20s that I know find older guys gross just due to age alone and strictly like guys who are within 0-2 years of them. That's also their dating history. This is pure fantasy man.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:18 AM
8

Multiple reasons for this niche interests and exceptions and people love to fixate on the exceptions sugar daddy arrangements, which absolutely do not count. most of those girls are grossed out by those men but sleep with them for the money biggest reason: coping. "when I'm older, all the hot girls in their 20s will want me." obviously, this is not true.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:17 AM
1

Not really. But I see your point. I've had declining success dating into my 30s now, but still go on some dates. Very hard to find someone I'm attracted to. Reason I came on here, just as an example, is to dispute people who think that money/status in your 30s helps you. It doesn't at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:11 AM
2

"How are you single" or variations of that statement is just one of those lame compliments. It's not real. I find lack of physical attraction and lack of a spark/chemistry are the 2 big reasons why women won't go on a 2nd date. If they're attracted to you, they will and they will find a way to make it work.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:10 AM
5

It's uncommon. All of the older wealthy guys I know are with women their own age. The redpill folks tend to exaggerate the sugar daddy arrangements and pretend it's a big majority. It's not. And arrangements aren't real relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:08 AM
3

Yes and they expect allowances, payments for various things etc. They're not looking to just sleep with the guy and move on or date the guy and contribute 50% like they would with their looksmatch in a normal relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:07 AM
3

Over rated. They would just get a sugar daddy. The problem is everyone likes to include the sugar daddy stuff in these conversations and pretend it's real.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:06 AM
1

I wouldn't say that is conclusive of anything. But you forgot the part that the girl would expect a sugar daddy. I would try to not ignore that key part.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:05 AM
4

Sample size is "trust me bro" It's at the most 10% of younger women and that's with modest age gaps only. Think 23 year old with a 28 year old. The 21 year old with a 35 year old guy is like 1 in 20 women at the most and almost all have daddy issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:04 AM
5

It's not a large percentage of younger women who want older men. It's less than 10%, and even smaller if it's truly a big age gap.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 06:02 AM
0

What? The point is that if you aren't good looking, there won't be any interest to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 05:51 AM
1

I have but they had the face.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 05:02 PM
1

This is what you have to look forward to as a guy in your 20s when you get told you "will peak at 35" or some nonsense like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 04:58 PM
1

If she's getting approached by good looking men then why wouldn't she set her standards at that level? If you were below average and hotter women approached you daily, wouldn't you assume that's your cut off?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 07:57 AM
1

Clout might work in some niches (think rock bands). It doesn't work otherwise for mainstream guys. If you're a pro athlete then sure but then chances are you aren't posting on here.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 07:54 AM
1

I'm not here to dispute your post except the part about check boxes. Honestly, a lot of that is nonsense. When it comes to actions and actually picking a guy, none of those check list exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 07:47 AM
1

Those things barely have impact in the final outcome. Might give you a date only for them to realize there's no spark.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 06:03 AM
1

You would need an 8/10 face at that height but I've seen guys with 7/10 faces pull it off too.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 04:25 AM
1

You're very limited in becoming hotter as a guy. A guy who isn't obese, doesn't dress weird and doesn't have a major fixable flaw, is pretty much near his peak for looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 04:24 AM
1

How do you hold attention if it doesn't even exist in the first place? You're jumping to step 2-3, and ignoring step 1.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 04:24 AM
1

Not sure I agree here. Basically any guy who is not good looking and desirable will come off as a bunch of those things by simply putting in effort. Even if it's modest effort .But an attractive guy doing all of those things, will mostly be seen as appealing. Obviously not true if they're acting toxic or silly.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:52 AM
1

Everyone is then messaging the top 2-3% of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:49 AM
1

I have experience with both. I think it's hilarious to think that looks are somehow less important because you met in person.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:48 AM
1

Self improvement is mostly a distraction unless there's truly a low hanging fruit like obesity. How much do you think a guy with an average face/height/lean body/average job can improve?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:47 AM
1

Improving your looks as a man is incredibly hard and you're looking at very marginal benefit for extensive work. A big social life that appeals to women is rooted into innate personality traits. Most of these outcomes are pre determined.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:40 AM
2

Because chasing excellent will yield zero success with women whereas chasing women will likely yield some success at least.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:39 AM
1

As a semi broke college student, that's when I got 90% of my dates/hook ups. As a doctor in my 30s who is extremely well off financially, it's incredibly harder now. Grinding doesn't pay off at all in this context.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:38 AM
1

You should volunteer for things you like. It's silly for people to make it into dating advice. It's very unlikely that someone you come across while volunteering will be single, attractive to you, and also be into you mutually.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:34 AM
1

Working on yourself is mostly a myth. You need good finances and a career for yourself. You should be in good shape. You should do whatever it takes to get better. But desirable dating traits are mostly innate. Everything you can work for, is just a bonus.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:31 AM
5

Depends how short. If you're hot and 5'7, you'll have more than enough options. It's when your average is average and you're 5'7 and you have very few options at that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:29 AM
0

That happens but you forgot one part. It happens when the woman is average herself. So of course she'll fall for the average tier looks + good personality guy. That's where her standards are set. As the women get more attractive, men below a certain threshold don't even count in her radar. Now I get that people are obsessed with digging up outliers (which always come with a catch) and ignoring >95% of the cases but that's not reality. That's just coping.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:28 AM
4

Both matter and looks matter a bit more. Personality is just a close second place. The gap is wider if the woman is attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:26 AM
1

Ignore all compliments and just look at actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:25 AM
2

Honestly if someone says I'm a catch, I don't invest much into that. Women say that to guys, who they turn them themselves. Lol. What does that tell you?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:24 AM
2

I'm a doctor in my 30s and very well off financially and it is much harder now than it was in my 20s. Far fewer options, far higher standards to meet.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:23 AM
1

You can't just be confident and even if you were, you still run into a wall. Confident guys do well in their own league. They can't shoot upward.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:22 AM
4

It's like when they say "looks aren't everything." Well okay sure but "not everything" is still something. It's still step 1. You can't get past that level without looks. It's always jumping way ahead.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:21 AM
2

Very good post. A big chunk of that kind of advice is for men they're already attracted to. This is true for all sorts of things that women say they like. It bypasses step 1 and 2.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:18 AM
2

The issue is that the "real you" will come out pretty quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:17 AM
1

Yeah but what's the success rate when approaching them? 0 from 0 is 0.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 02:25 AM
1

There's some truth to this but the reason is mostly that the competition is so low in those smaller cities compared to big ones.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 02:22 AM
2

Being good looking and taller does make it a lot easier though. At some point we need to accept that most dating excuses are just silly.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 02:15 AM
1

The majority of people in society are able to afford small dates. To say otherwise is being completely dishonest. It's a choice to go on expensive dates and finances are not a huge barrier. The issue with your argument is that being able to afford cool dates doesn't mean you'll get one.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 02:04 AM
2

I think for many guys, how many years can you go on to find someone attracted to you? Where it's also mutual.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 02:01 AM
1

Those are all different. A big chunk of lawyers make 5 figures. they're not dating a broke guy sure but they might just date a teacher or someone of that nature. Nurses have a very broad dating pool, many could be paramedics for example. Female doctors often have a partner from during their training. There are not that many single professional women in their 30s with no kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 02:01 AM
2

That's true. But 2 things happen: lots of men start off not wanting single moms, then get rejected by others, and then realize they need to broaden their options a lot more if you're less desirable to 30/100 people, you still have 70 options which is a lot
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 01:58 AM
2

Raising your value is essentially a myth. It's just a mental thing. Unless you have a flaw, you aren't becoming much better looking. You're not getting taller as an taller. Your personality is more or less the same. People undergo what they believe is self improvement and that's great for other reasons. But you're more or less in the same spot. If you manage to truly undergo major social mobility to a higher socioeconomic class then you do get to hang around new people which gives you higher odd…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 01:56 AM

in what setting are you using those things? I hang out with wealthy guys a lot. I'm well off. I'm just curious how you think those things materialize into success.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:40 AM
1

No I do get a bit of attention/interest but not that much. Certainly less than my early 20s. Far fewer options now in my 30s, takes far more effort. I'm actually in the very high end for finances by physician standards too. Yes doctors get married a lot but also divorce a lot. The medical subreddits are full of (men) with dating problems. It's a huge myth that you get a huge boost in your dating prospects. You will find your looksmatch for sure but that's sort of true for many guys. Most nurses/…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:38 AM
1

Which is why they tend to marry their looksmatch, just educated ones. That's not what the manosphere would lead you to think though.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:21 AM
1

I like cars so yes I have multiple sports cars. You're genuinely talking about stuff that men like (cars, watches).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:16 AM
1

Is english your first language? I said "say that to all of the high earning professionals I know who married single moms." That is referring to the specific group of those men that I know. Not saying all men.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:15 AM
1

That's just redpill talking points. Yes you're generally right but even "falling off" after just means you go from... lets say 100 options down to 90 options. Whereas men go from 0-1 options to... 0-1. Maybe 0-2 options if they really improved a lot. Women used to look for different markers back when they didn't work. Now they make up more than 50% of many professions, make up the bulk of higher education and get lots of the good white collar jobs. That means the shift to prioritizing looks and …
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:14 AM
1

To some degree but that's only on paper. I'm a physician and what you're saying is true but just to a small extent, in the hospital setting for example. Most people are married or taken. Younger women are largely not interested. Yes the occasional person will be but it's not remotely what you think. Compare it to a 21 year old in college and the options are far more limited.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:09 AM
1

It might be lowering standards but what choice do they have?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 07:03 AM
1

What kind of source do you want on that? I didn't say all of them do, or that most do. Or that it's disproportionate. The fact that many do is enough. I'm guessing you think that a 45 year old successful guy is dating 22 year olds and that's the universal rule.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:57 AM
2

Of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:56 AM
2

"Desperate men" are a huge spectrum. A lot of guys just latch onto the first woman who gives them real attention and marry that person.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:55 AM
1

Because most men who are successful will be age 35+. Maybe slightly younger. But a bulk of your age group who are single will have baggage. Many will be single moms. It's not that they start off wanting to date a single mom. It's that your options are narrowed to that. Not many single women in their 30s with no kids, no baggage, mentally healthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:47 AM
1

Are you saying it's a privilege that I could afford a coffee date which cost 5$?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:45 AM
2

What percentage of men are desirable, attractive, well off and have lots of options? I'll let you answer that for me and educate me on this.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:44 AM
1

That is true. There aren't that many attractive guys to go around. 2 things to note though. 1) Women are more okay being single than men. Men don't tolerate it as well. 2) Women can get sex extremely easily, with top tier guys. Men cannot. So women can wait out being single for very long, especially if they don't have kids. And if they do, well sex won't be an issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:43 AM
2

If you're a truly attractive man, then yes it's not really relevant. But most men aren't attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:29 AM
-1

Not all of them
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:28 AM
1

That's true
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:28 AM
2

So how are you defining desirable then? Desirability is a byproduct of what the opposite sex wants. If you can attract a certain tier of men or women, then you have that level of desirability. If a fairly attractive single mom is able to pull off above average looking men who are financially well off, then that's her desirability level.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:23 AM

So you were a 7 and being an athlete made you a 9-10? Cool. But being a 7 is enough for most guys. That basically says, you're good looking and just need a bit of game and personality. Most guys are not 7s and can never be no matter what you do. Try being a 4-5/10 and short then see if you have lots of options with supposed status.

Yeah, like who? Sugar babies and escorts? Yes you can have your pick of sex workers, who hang around with you in various capacities. Usually for direct money, and sometimes indirect. What new class of women are you talking about?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:13 AM

I agree about the relativity part but I'm just talking in absolute terms. Men are also worse relativity with age.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:10 AM

I agree with everything but my point is that there are still enough quality options for those women anyway. Many men won't be interested but some will.

It's a checkbox requirement that you have a half decent job with okay money. It doesn't give you a big advantage to be well off unless you're a sugar daddy. My dating prime was my early 20s. I'm wealthy in my 30s and it's quite a bit harder now.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 09:14 PM

It's not the 60s bro. They're almost all employed and many of them make a decent living. Combined with an okay income on the other end, and the household income is enough to have a normal life. But to address your point, I know quite a few high earning professionals who married single moms. Usually it was due to age. If you're 38 or 40 for example, many in your age group have a kid. The women are also educated and fairly well off. The "need a man to take care them" thing is long gone. It still e…

Sure bud lol. You could pull 750k tomorrow and not one woman will notice or care, unless you're paying cash upfront. This is true even if you're a 6/10 or 8/10 yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 08:15 AM
2

I totally understand that. But we don't live in a world where men get their preferences. You have to step it down 5 levels just to have a shot and even then you can get lots of rejections. Most men do this subconsciously. Ultimately for many, their dating options will be lots of single moms.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 08:13 AM

Your post has some contradictions. Rich men can afford divorces and child support? Well sure the very rich ones yes. But then you say you don't need to become a millionaire? In the US, if you aren't a multi millionaire then you aren't even entry level rich. A millionaire would get destroyed with alimony. If I make 1.5 million in total income, I lose a huge chunk to income and capital gains and dividend taxes. If I'm also paying alimony and child support, that's not much left to fund an affluent …

They're not hoping for a sugar daddy or any of that stuff. Because it isn't happening! If they're hooking up with a rich guy who is below them in looks, it's because there is an exchange of payment. Or they're pseudo sex workers in some capacity. I'm as wealthy as it gets for my age group and quite literally no one cares unless I'm planning on giving them direct cash.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 06:22 AM

Are you watching? What proof do you have? I live in a super wealthy neighborhood. Every rich guy I know has an average looking wife. I also know ones who have affairs, with other average looking women. You're thinking of sugar babies.

It gives you like 0.5. Not 2 points lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 06:18 AM

Why are you comparing to a homeless guy with 0 dollars? In real life, it's a guy who makes 60k per year. That's a realistic comparison. Give that guy a 8/10 face and he beats the 5/10 guy making 3 million any day. The only exception is essentially if you're a pro athlete making 3 million.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 06:17 AM

Most rich men I know are married to very average looking women who are pretty educated and have their own career, or at least had. My entire block is wealthy folks, many of whom are not old. I have yet to see one single gold digger who is with their rich husband who is below them in looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 06:15 AM
2

Honestly the gold digging thing is a myth nowadays. I'm rich, and actually quite rich for my age, and my success rate actually went down after getting rich. The only women who care are the ones wanting an actual true sugar daddy. Otherwise I think it has basically zero weight.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 06:10 AM

You actually can't compensate anymore. That has died out completely from the 2000s until now. Saying you can divorce and get another person is funny cause you forgot about alimony and child support. Power and status can make you more attractive if it's at the extreme levels, not attainable to >99.99% of men ever. Good luck becoming a famous billionaire or world leader, or at least a pro athlete. 18-25 is when you're around the most single women. It's usually the peak of your facial aesthetics and for many the lowest body fat percentage you'll have. It's also when you have the most in common with women in that age group. You don't need that much money for dates. How much does going out for a drink cost? Seeing a movie? Dinner? It's not that expensive. I don't recall finances being my limitation in dating at all during those years. It was definitely prime time and I'm in my 30s and a very…

In real life, for every guy who says "no" there are 20 others fighting for that spot. Having a kid might not make you the first choice for others, but what happens when those guys are rejected nonstop by everyone else? You have to broaden your options.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 05:57 AM
1

Not enough to be well off. You can be a sugar daddy if all you have is money. You also need to be a very good looking 45 year old. You're narrowing things down to the tiniest percentage of men. 30 year old women are looking for men in their 30s. If they're attractive and single, they likely have very high standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 05:55 AM
0

You can choose younger women all day but once all 25 out of 25 women in their 20s reject you (not necessarily you specifically) then reality kicks in and it's time to adjust standards. Men aren't exactly choosing unless they're in the very high end tier of the dating pool.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 05:53 AM

Date casually? Absolutely. Marry? No. But for a huge number of men, the latter means being single forever.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 05:51 AM

Yes to the baggage and it being harder than it would be if you're single. But it's not exceptions to the rule. You think well off 45 year old men are getting married to 25 year olds?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 05:50 AM
-4

Sure but in real life you're a 37 year old male professional and almost no one under 30 is interested. Then above 30 you either go for someone below you in looks or someone who looks decent but has a kid. That's just how it plays out.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 04:04 AM

That kind of guy is incredibly rare. They also probably wouldn't have been an incel at 21, just underachieving.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 04:02 AM

There is no shortage of men looking for a relationship in any age group. Standards are high and those men are often not sexually appealing or exciting so they're not considered an option. One of my friends is 34 and a single mom. Pretty attractive and quite literally has options from every angle.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:59 AM

Lol say that to all of the high earning professionals I know who married single moms.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:57 AM

Value is all based on what people are willing to offer. In dating, it's all dependent on who is willing to go out with you. People who want to believe they have high value and set their standards accordingly may not actually find anyone at all. I think that women proportionately maintain their dating value. The same level of guys who were into them at age 20 will also be into them at age 40. It's just the age of everyone goes up. Sure if you gain lots of weight then that goes down. But barring a…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:56 AM

I'm not really talking about high quality men of that standard though. Not really relevant to any discussion to fixate on the top <1% (of anything) when 99% of the population isn't there. We can talk about average men or maybe those who are a bit above average to account for all the self improvement stuff. What I'm saying is very true for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:48 AM
0

A single mom who is actually hot has infinite options. I'm guessing you're talking about average looking women only. While you're right that men won't be jumping at the chance, what do you think happens if you get rejected by everyone else? Even a decent guy in his late 30 for example has very few options, basically zero.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:46 AM
0

The chad types have their primes in college. Even those who are somewhat appealing or a little above average in appeal (which I was personally) quickly level off through their 20s. Especially as you get into a career and suddenly your ability to find anyone is far more narrow logistically. I don't know how anyone could possibly think it's age 30 unless you had zero success and finally find a girlfriend. What age of first?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:25 AM

If you say so
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:20 AM

In my profession, the average income is in the mid 6 figure range. A lot of guys are older when they marry or divorced and remarrying. During get togethers, I'm shocked at just how many of their wives have kids from prior relationships. Just because you prefer something doesn't mean you'll get it. Most importantly about everything you said, how many guys in their 30s have a good looking face, are tall, and financially successful? To say that's even 1 in 100 men is being generous.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:17 AM
-1

I would disagree with older men being appealing to younger. Only a small percentage of women in their 20s are into much older men. Men's prime time is 18-25 when their dating pool is women their own age. We always like to pretend this isn't a huge fact. No guy is going from borderline incel at 21 to being a sex symbol at age 40.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:14 AM
0

If decent looking 40 year old men with good careers are your dating options, that doesn't make you undesirable. Compare that to most men, where they have zero options and need to work hard just to get a single date. What you're saying is, just because people are willing to pay 700k for a home doesn't mean it's worth 700k. Well sure, but that's what the market value is.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:11 AM
2

What you're saying is true but it's due to high standards and/or being extremely picky. Not lack of options. Most guys are not meeting the looks cut off. Then others aren't tall enough. Some may not have had a "spark."
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:09 AM
-2

totally fair but I'm speaking broadly about the dating pool and how lack of options is not reality. Single moms in their 30s are still very picky. Perhaps not at picky as they used to be but lowering your standards from wanting a guy who is an 8/10 to 7/10, is still quite high and unattainable for most men.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:01 AM
-3

I wasn't disputing the reasons behind the argument. I was disputing that women "losing dating value" is actually even remotely true. All of the evidence shows this is far from the truth.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 03:00 AM
0

They're not being desperate about it. You're just talking to people who are offended and angry. If your dating app has 1000 matches ready in 1 week, there's no desperation.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 02:58 AM
2

So how many women are you going out with who are attractive, mentally healthy, have a decent job, younger, no kids ?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 02:57 AM
-1

Because regardless of your job, if you're 42 and a 5/10 and average height, who else are you dating/hooking up with? Who do you think makes up the dating pool at that age? Like I said, for every 10+ of those guys there is maybe 1 (if even that) who is with someone much younger in their 20s. As to your initial point, well for many men it's either that or being fully alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 02:56 AM
-4

I'm just putting out the broad facts. Not speaking about you individually or any specific individuals. A 35 year old single mom who is attractive has way too many options and wouldn't care too much for a particular individual either. Not the same story if they're very average looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 02:53 AM
3

If you believe certain men online, women's value drops to 0 by age 30 and men's value skyrockets. In reality, both are just about 100% false.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 02:30 AM

Money and status impact a guy's league if it's in the super elite tier of <0.1%.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/24 04:48 AM

I'm always skeptical to be honest with you. Whenever I've seen photos after these claims, it's two looks matched people.

I would agree
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/24 04:44 AM

I totally agree with what you're saying. But whether or not they even engage with you to start is based on your league.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/24 04:51 AM
-2

Well that's the point right. She won't be into you if you're not in her league. Time is limited and wasting it on frustration isn't a good use of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/24 04:38 AM
1

If you put their body on a 4-5/10 man's face, suddenly it has little value. Not saying zero, but just little value.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/24 02:48 AM
1

If someone tells me they're a bodybuilder then I want to know when their last/next show is. Not just someone who works out. But I know what you're trying to say. The incel community has a lot of those physiques as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:19 AM
1

I don't understand what you're saying
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:18 AM
1

Celebrities are not relevant. Cavill also has a very good looking face. If you're 5'8 with 11% body fat and a 5/10 face it still won't matter. Now switch out to a 8/10 face and suddenly that guy has unlimited options .
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:17 AM
2

So basically you like a nice frame and face. That's what I always say in terms of what most women like and get push back on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:14 AM
1

Yes that's true
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:13 AM
1

The extremely muscular physique isn't even possible to obtain for almost all men, regardless of drugs/years training. There are some women who like it but definitely <5%.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:13 AM
1

If you're very muscular then it's just a niche look. A small percentage will be into it, most will not be.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:12 AM
1

A little bit sure but it's largely if the face is also at least above average. Now if you look average, the nice body effect will help with women below your level actually.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:10 AM
1

If you like working you for more muscles, you should do it. You should do it at minimum for health reasons. But it has minimal effect on dating prospects. However men think it has a huge impact.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 02:09 AM
3

Give the first guy a 4-5/10 face and 5'5 height and see how it goes. Achievable things do not make a guy that much more sexually attractive. Muscles and money are two big ones. You can achieve them and impress other men. You can pay other women with the money. But you can't make them actually like you like the second guy can.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/24 08:08 AM
2

It's not lies. Otherwise, bodybuilders would be the top choice for women and we would see this in day to day society. But they actually make up a big percentage of incels.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/24 07:58 AM
3

I'm going to do some medical corrections on this (I'm a practicing physician). More muscle does not draw blood away from the brain. It doesn't necessarily limit range of motion if you maintain mobility. Cardiac disease is a byproduct of steroid use and not just being jacked. For purposes of dating prospects, it's overrated.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/24 07:51 AM
3

That's basically saying self improvement with improving your physique has minimal value.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/24 07:48 AM
2

Because sex is just part of the puzzle only.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/24 06:37 AM

You can't improve your looks unless you have a big flaw.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/24 03:58 AM

When you exclude men who pay, those who hook up with women they aren't attracted to, and infrequent sex ... well the % is way lower.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/24 03:22 AM

That's usually just an excuse. Women might reject men for a specific reason but then date a guy after who has many flaws. It's all about the looks and natural chemistry. You can't "improve" your way into that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/24 03:21 AM

They were actually lied to by mostly men. Men do things that they think impress women, when in reality they impress men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/24 03:20 AM

Not really. I think you actually get a pretty good sense of average men on here. "Self improvement" is mostly a myth unless you have some critical flaw. You cannot improve your league, which is what people are sold.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/24 03:15 AM
3

Yeah but that's a minimum standard. A good job would not get you full on interested either by itself. A lot of people think a man with a great career is very attractive to broad ranges of women. Even if he's a bit shorter or mediocre looks wise.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 03:55 AM
0

The latter. But it's not conflicting at all. I'm saying that it's the latter but women will often say or assume that the successful guy (who is a 4-5/10 in looks) has lots of dating options. But their personal actions would never follow that.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 03:54 AM
0

I don't disagree but women also preach this type of thought. In everyday conversation, women will generally assume that a male CEO or doctor or successful business owner has lots and lots of options when it comes to dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 02:50 AM
-1

It's not really the red pill that came up with this idea. Even the media teaches this idea of becoming very desirable if you're older and successful.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 02:38 AM
1

The underlying premise is that men are taught that you can make yourself attractive (not true) and that doing well in school translates to better job prospects (true) and later translates to doing better with women (not true at all).
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 02:19 AM

They think that the nerd gets the good job and women later in life. That is absolutely not true at all, which is my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 02:18 AM
0

That's not really what men are taught. It's more "study hard, get a good job, women will come for you." So for many they see the cool kid in class get the girls, and later watch the jock do it in high school, then the frat boy in college. Then after graduating, it's the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 01:55 AM

I think when people see a guy/girl who are looks mismatched, they think "how did he get her?" when the real answer is that there is more to the story.

The point is that the figure will be much higher than 15%. Your 2% figure may be deflated by those willing to say the truth on that matter, especially if illegal. It also excludes those 30-35.

You think that makes you physically attractive to women out of your league?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 04:19 AM

I make way more than that as a doctor and have a very nice passive income stream as well. It has almost zero benefit unless you're looking to be an actual sugar daddy. I had a much easier time dating in college. Now, I get some interest from very average looking women who I'm not very attracted to. Generally ones with good education though. But anyone who is attractive? Not a chance. A 7 figure income brings almost zero interest unless you're planning on giving allowance payments to a sugar baby…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 03:36 AM

I'll jump in as a doctor who is a very high earner even by doctor standards. I definitely care about the woman's socioeconomic status and formal college education as well. One interest thing to learn is that lower socioeconomic women actually have little to no interest in wealthier men, unless it's a sugar daddy scenario. From the outside, you'd think it's the opposite. But they truly prefer that tall 6-7/10 guy who makes 40k a year and has good chemistry with them than a wealthy guy who they ca…

Fake it till you make it?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:53 AM

Funniest part is assuming every single male-female duo in public is by default a couple. I've been shocked at how often things like, brother/sister, family member, friend (where the guy in question is not straight), sugar baby amongst other examples have been the explanation of a looks mismatched guy/girl.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:53 AM
3

How did you confirm it's his girlfriend?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:51 AM
1

So are you going for very average and a bit overweight women? And still getting rejected nonstop?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:47 AM
5

Exclude the following: 1) men who paid 2) men who hooked up with someone they were not attracted to You'll find that 15% figure really goes high once you apply the above points. you can also apply ones who contacted the girl after and didn't hear back, which excludes men who just got lucky one night.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:47 AM
2

Not exactly but I see your point. Average looking isn't good enough for attractive women. You need to be at least a bit above average face wise (which is very hard). Then you need literally everything else maxed out, from height to social skills. If your face is on par with them, then just need the personality component. It's not one of the other, you need both.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:45 AM
1

He gets the chance but it fades away. You need to be very attractive face wise to get a pass on everything. It's unlikely OP is that attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:42 AM
0

Yes you are right. You are meeting the looks threshold to get in the door (which many men heavily struggle with) but you don't have the full personality piece. So your dating options will be limited. I definitely know what you mean in that there is some initial interest but once they realize there's no social life then it all fades away. Your best bet is an introverted quiet girl with very few to no friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:41 AM
1

Women in their early to mid 20s are not with guys in their 30s. That's a bunch of bogus and we have data (not made up content) that proves it. Yes you will find the odd girl in her late 20s who is into older men but you are far more likely to find someone your own age interested in you than someone in her 20s.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:36 AM
4

So you're saying 24 year olds are not chasing 45 year old men? Wow I'm shocker.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:33 AM
1

Sure but the point is that dating options get more limited.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/24 02:29 AM

A lot of personality traits are either genetic or a byproduct of your upbringing. You have little control over it.

Yes you're right but I'm saying it wasn't uncommon to see a guy who looked okay but had a great job married to someone quite hot. Part of it was the finances but it also made the guy more attractive in the woman's eyes back then. Now? Not really. I'll use my own career as an example in medicine. Doctors in the 50s basically had their pick. A plain average 5/10 male doctor just needed some half decent social skills and to not be a weirdo and he could date one of the attractive nurses. This was so…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 07:25 AM

It does, you're right. But lets say you're a 6-7/10, then charisma and personality can let you date someone who is truly hot. If you're just plain average, well it'll help you move up slightly. But most guys don't have that kind of charisma. Furthermore being a 6-7/10 is not easy either. Biggest honest mistake men make is thinking a nice hair cut and going to the gym makes you into a 6-7.

Those things all help if the person is already into you physically/emotionally.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 07:16 AM

You're right about needing something going for you but only when that "something" is innate and genetic based. Good looks, height, charisma, personality are predominantly a byproduct of genetics. That's why they lead to genuine attraction. Things you can achieve, such as money, are not solely genetic and hence never lead to genuine attraction. There is some grey area like everything else in this world where things like grooming or muscles overlap. But these things are generally complimentary onl…

/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 05:57 AM

The issue with is more that a 5'10 guy with a 5-6/10 face and somewhat okay personality with a good job ; basically a normal guy with a good job, could likely find a good quality partner back many years ago. Now? Well many won't unless they're lucky. You need more height, a better face and a more fun social life to make the cut in each category.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 05:54 AM

Many women do pay for dates though and many continue their careers for many years still. The elephant in the room is that even if you have money, it isn't a game changer if you aren't a sugar daddy. I know countless lonely rich guys with subpar looks and personalities who pay women just to hang out with them. I know countless ones who get rejected by women making 30-40k a year as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 05:52 AM

The standards actually are the issue, because they're so inflated beyond reality. Being happy single is not compatible with human beings on average. Humans are social animals who need both companionship and sex. Being lonely is not healthy and being single sets up many people, especially men, to be lonely. This is a byproduct of inflated standards that are disconnected from reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 04:57 AM

Who are your options to betabuck?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 04:54 AM
1

Well we're talking about dating, no? That's the context of the conversation. You can have value in other things yes. But it won't affect your value in dating much.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 04:53 AM
1

Yeah sure. Or you can just be a sugar daddy for the same person. "every man pays" is a cope. You realize women work nowadays and huge numbers of them out earn men. I'm a 7 figure earner and I have less options than my college years.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 04:51 AM
1

I didn't mention anything about money or game.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 04:50 AM

You're right. You also need to be likeable as a person but being very attractive really just gives you unlimited options any day of the week in any setting. Dating apps, bars, social circles, the gym. Anywhere you go, you have your pick.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:39 AM
2

That's just over analyzing. A nice face, slightly above average height, dadbod and good social status with peers/being likeable gives you lots of options and makes you very appealing to high quality women. The hard part is being likeable and having a nice face. Neither are things you can truly change that much.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:36 AM
2

You can do all of those things and it'll barely help compared to a tall good looking guy with charisma and lots of friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:34 AM
1

Dadbod with a nice face who has lots of friends will have more options than almost all men.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:32 AM

Probably the most important part that you mention is to be recognizable by others. That's extremely hard to achieve and not really in your control either.

You're saying women slept with trump for free?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:27 AM

Well in the context of dating, it's about your value to women. So that's really decided by women, not by men. Men spend all of their time improving things they think women like, not realizing those are just things that other men like. (ex. muscles, cool toys) Women also don't go around evaluating men's value. If they are attracted and there is chemistry, then they go for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:26 AM
3

That's the core issue. When you have a lot of people with unrealistic standards, then you get lots of unhappy people when those standards are not fulfilled.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:20 AM

It's because standards have skyrocketed in the era of internet and social media. It used to be that if you put effort into yourself and checkboxed certain things, then you'd be a decent catch. But today, you're likely invisible.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:19 AM

That's what I find hilarious about these comments. Like the number of emotionally healthy women who are looking and also interested in older men is small and keeps getting smaller as you age. There are guys who got all the girls when they were younger and still succeed in their 30s and 40s. Though most of them settle down with some super hot girl. Then there's the odd guy who massively underachieved in his 20s then figures it out and gets some dates in his 30s. That's not improving with age, it'…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:11 AM

"betabucks" don't even exist right now. There are countless lonely men in the upper class income/wealth brackets. The same rules apply in the upper class, same as the middle class. Lower socioeconomic class women also show very little to no interest in upper class men due to complete lack of chemistry.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:05 AM

You can't compete with the tall good looking men who are charismatic and very likeable; just because you think you have "resources and status." You'll find that even in upper class circles, the guys who have the looks and charisma are the ones who are successful with dating. The others are on the sidelines.

Beta providers don't exist. In my upper class neighborhood, all of the women work and make good money or used to make good money and slowly cut down over the years of being married due to raising kids. There are however lots of single rich men (on the younger side) who pay sugar babies just to hang out since they can't attract anyone due to a combination of subpar looks/height & lack of charisma. After I achieved social mobility I realized what bullshit the money thing is if you are not very lik…

The whole "resources" thing is utter nonsense. A well rounded career and financial status is generally a bonus. The guy still needs to meet the looks threshold and also have the charisma and likeable personality. I do think there used to be an ounce of truth to the resources argument. If you go back a couple decades, and even more so 30-40+ years, then well rounded men with good jobs could get by with a little less in the looks/charisma department. It still mattered but the threshold wasn't as h…

This is not true. In today's age, resources and "power" don't mean that much anymore. It's a bonus. Looks, charisma and being likeable are what matter.

There are plenty of citations you can review for yourself. It's 2024, not 2008. Wikipedia is a reliable source for general information. We're not publishing a meta analysis. I'm guessing in your world, a couple people you saw is what counts and anecdotes represent your source of information.

Not being unattractive doesn't make you attractive unfortunately. It's like how having a job doesn't make you attractive. It's just that being unemployed makes you appealing.

You need to be good looking, charismatic with a very likeable magnetic personality. None of these are things you have much control over.

Of course. You also need to be "cool" and likeable compared to most men, which is even harder to achieve than being good looking.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 06:09 PM

I would try to avoid using personal experience anecdotes to draw broader conclusions. I can swap out doctor for successful business owner and give you the same outcome. It's not your wealthy or successful dude who is middle aged dating the hot girls in their 20s. And even when it is, the guy himself looks equally hot. The only job that truly is a game changer that compensates for subpar looks with women, is pro athlete.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 06:09 PM
1

That's great for you. But I used to go out with multiple women per week in my college years. Not everyone was hot but I simply had more options due to age than I do now.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 06:06 PM
3

If you're good looking and you look younger, what's the shocker here? You can be good looking and 40 and have lots of options. The argument here is that a 5/10 guy in his 20s will suddenly become a sex symbol in his 30s just because he's older.

You're actually completely wrong on this but I can see why you say that. Broke hot women looking for a literal sugar daddy? Yes, they're interested in an arrangement. For dating/hook ups without money involved? No. I actually find the low income women are the least interested whereas the moderately successful women are who is interested primarily. There's less chemistry across socioeconomic classes. Also I've always looked like I workout.

It actually doesn't. Women in their 30s-40s can go on any dating app and get hundreds of matches pretty quickly. That's a lot of options. Also you're competing with guys who are younger who are way better looking and messaging those women as well. And while controversial, there are a lot of taken men on dating apps which adds to the competition. And in real life too. Avoiding weight gain and balding is great but preventing it does not make you hot. Absence of negative physical traits does not me…

Yes confidence matters a lot but it's part of your personality. That all comes after there is some physical attraction, which is the first step. When girls talk about a guy, they don't say "he's so confident." They say "he's so cute."
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 06:50 AM

If you're an average 5/10 guy who makes 90k per year at age 35, your options are average looking women who make similar amounts +/- have a kid. I guess I don't see your actual argument here.

I'm literally a doctor in my 30s. This is a huge myth with a tiny ounce of truth. I know zero doctors being fought over by nurses. There are a small number who have good chemistry with doctors but it's still your looksmatch like anyone else and you'll have to make the moves and take the initiative plus the risk. That defies both common sense and facts. There are literally less single women. And quality women are largely taken. How can your dating pool expand?

It does help you look better but two things to keep in mind. The improvement is notable if you're lacking in certain areas. ex. major fat loss. Generally self improvement in looks won't be that substantial and it doesn't change your league. If you look average, you don't really become conventionally attractive. Only exceptions are teenagers into adulthood.

You mean if I was a multi millionaire in my early 20s, I'd be more successful? Lol. Sure. That isn't reality though. The dating landscape is different in that you have far fewer options. See my post about dating getting much harder for me as a wealthy doctor compared to my college years. No I wasn't a "chad." But I did better than I do now. I actually have to lower my standards quite a bit. I mention the wealthy part as I mean relative to a typical doctor, I'm wealthy. So a big check mark on money. Can't speak to NYC's details as I have never lived there. I live in Texas and it isn't anything like that. Neither is most of this country. Consider the older guys taking those girls are also paying them as that is almost always the case. NYC is well known to be a sugar daddy hot spot, I believe top in the nation. Also don't discount the fact that some of these older guys are very attractive themselves and the age gap isn't that big in many cases. I've certainly seen a super good looking 39 year…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 03:45 AM

That doesn't change the outcome much for various reasons. most women in their 20s won't be interested due to the age gap more and more women will be taken as your age goes up you need to be accepting of single moms and other things Your dating pool gets far more narrowed down and smaller. Some disposable income is also a minimum standard at that point and not an advantage.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 03:40 AM

This is very untrue unless you're talking about sugar babies only. Then yes, sugar babies care a lot more about the money. Otherwise, money has never been less important. Women make their own money now and don't need the guy's money anymore. You can't buy attraction either. That's why almost every hot girl is with a conventionally good looking guy and not a rich guy. Once you exclude sugar babies.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 03:32 AM

Having a car and your own place isn't exactly some massive achievement.... So while yes you're correct that those two things open up more options than if you didn't have them, it's not some big feat. You're still competing against huge numbers of attractive men who have those things and more, as well as fun lifestyles to go along with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 03:29 AM

You peak based on genetics and lifestyle choices. But it's a relative peak once you leave your 20s. Your ceiling is far lower and any success enjoyed it far lower than an appealing guy in his 20s.

This stuff is some crazy level of coping. It's really there to create delayed gratification that if you "work on yourself" then suddenly you become attractive. Self improvement has little to no bearing if we're being honest. I'm in the upper class and live in an upper class neighborhood and have yet to see anyone dating or marrying out of their league.

Yes OP you're 100% correct. You also do a good job with your latter two points. Men who suddenly do better in their 30s, generally did very poorly in their 20s. It's a relative improvement. It's like a guy who never went to the gym, who suddenly works out 6x a week in his 30s. Celebrities are quite literally of zero relevance to the general public and there is no bigger time waste than looking at what they do. It does but it's not a game changer. So it enhances your desirability as you say, to someone who is already attracted to you. It does not create the initial attraction. I did okay with women when I was 20 and in college. I'm a doctor in my 30s and wealthy even by physician standards and I still do okay at best with women. I would say I attract the exact same women basically but the dating pool is much smaller so it's actually more challenging.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/24 02:40 AM
1

Many reasons for this. 1) They're not actually a couple, just a man-woman in public (very common) who could be family or friends or anything but a couple 2) He is paying her (more common than you think) 3) He isn't as ugly as you personally see it 4) She is not as hot as you think 5) He has a niche that she's into 6) Extensive mental health problems A lot of cases are a combination of 3 and 4 as well. You'll pretty much never see an exception to this list.

An actual good looking loner will have endless options with women unless he truly can't even hold a basic conversation. If you mean a 6/10 guy, then yeah you're right.

If you exclude relationships where the man is directly giving money to the woman, your first example does not exist anymore.

Exactly. The overwhelming large majority of couples are looks matched and similar socioeconomically.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 06:08 AM

I'm just saying it is far more common than you think. When you go beyond escorts and sugar babies, money suddenly has very little value in dating in today's age. Women make their own money and combining it with a guy they actually like can afford them the things they want to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 06:05 AM
2

As someone who has aged well and became wealthy, I found it easiest when I was 18-22 years old. Far more options all around when you're college aged. In my 30s, it is universally single moms / divorced women / women with active psychiatric problems. I do meet younger women but if in their 20s, it is women looking for a sugar daddy.

So are you saying we ignore marriage stats, ignore surveys and just see which person has anecdotes? I've seen lots of sugar daddies and I've seen girls with older guy fetishes. The latter is a pretty small group. For every one of those girls, there is one who tells me who disgusting an older guy is to her. If you're saying that a girl who is 28 would go out with a guy who is 36-37, sure I agree.
