The thing that is scary about this, is that is what somebody, wandering around honestly believes. That is the view of the world that they have.

I remember, after Lockdown 1 in the UK, when hair / nails / beauty were one of the last places to open up. That was sexism and all men's fault too.

It is painful to note that feminism, a movement that seeks to free people from the shackles of patriarchy, is misinterpreted in this way (as misandry). Wondering why this keeps happening, I approach Tahmina Huq, a Bangladeshi women's rights activist. "One of the reasons people make this mistake," she tells me, "is rooted in the fact that feminism challenges gender norms. Because it aims to establish a world in which everyone will enjoy equal rights regardless of gender, people who benefit from p…

Fundamentally if misandry was illegal thent he majority of feminist spaces would have to close over night. Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

Men do not see women as intellectual equals You base that on what evidence? nor will they ever be threatened because of the physicality factor alone Untrue men are far more likely to be victims of crime than women. When are they talking about how to spot other males that are dangerous to women and how to keep women safe? When do women ever call misandry when they see it? Show me one god dam example. On the 32nd of Neveruary, that's when. Amen sister. Is there that one unicorn man out there that …

Several things leap out: It seems there’s nothing women can have that men will not expect them to share. Let's just flip those genders as a test. "It seems there’s nothing men can have that women will not expect them to share". If a man wrote that then there'd be hysterical screams of misogny. The other way around though...seems fine. Feminists either believe in equality or they don't. So far, I've only ever seen ample proof that they most certainly don't I say feminism isn’t about hating men……

Text of article is included here: Women, eh? Always saying they want equal treatment, then the moment it’s offered to them, they start to complain. Take the recent proposals to make misogyny a hate crime. Given current levels of street harassment, sexual assault and male violence against women, this can only be a good thing. But why stop there? Why not make misandry – prejudice against men and boys – a hate crime, too? Surely that way no one is left out. Last month it was announced that a Law Co…

Feminism doesn't really care who they discriminate against. It's easy to find example of any sort of bigotry you want in the movement. If you're looking for homophobia than Feminism has got you covered The lovely bigot Marion Millar enjoys extensive support from her fellow bigots on Twitter (sorry I mean, feminists, not bigots, what ever was I thinking?!). Just do a twitter search for #WomenWontWheesht to enjoy 1st rate prejudice courtesy of the Feminist movement whilst they claim to be about eq…

I think it's subtle but it's definitely there. The suggestion is that some men are lazy, and expect women to do all of the housework. In some cases that's true, but for some women it'll also be true: "Men, before you move in with your girl be clear and explain to her that you are not going to be her dad and she needs to be able to change a light bulb, put flatpack furniture together and to be able to fix a blown fuse". People can struggle to transition to living away from their parents, it's not…

This is a constant in the feminist world and on the face of it looks perfectly reasonable. Men and women should share household work equally but there is subtle misandry here. The narrative is always "Don't allow men to expect you to do everything" which is fine and honourable. However they always fail to mention that other, more traditionally masculine, chores should be on women too. That is: If a light bulb goes I expect you to understand the difference between a bayonet and screw fitting and …

How anyone can all themselves a feminist when this is what the movement is about. It may have started with noble, ideological dreams of equality but it's been quickly hijacked by the far right and turned into a hate movement full of bigotry. As this sub testifies. Yet, not a single feminist ever comments on the content of these pages. The silence is defeaning. It's lucky that men aren't protected, in law, as other groups are. The jails would be overflowing with feminists.

Not all people are bad, some are, gender is not a guide. There again, there’s a brick wall over there, I may as well go and bang my head against it for all of the difference it’ll make to the, imho, hysterical feminist movement.

She misses the point that nobody is saying that misogyny and misandry take the same form. They are both different. Of course men will never be asked to stay in huts, during their period / once a month, because biologically they don’t have periods. This does not disprove misandry exists it merely makes the point, obvious to any fool , that misogyny and misandry manifest themselves in different ways. Again, a feminist misandry denier fails to answer any of the examples of misandry that are freely …

I usually say ‘ah, but clearly your loyalty here is to men or at least the idea of men as a class and not the people facing this issue, as your first instinct was to defend men. So why is it you primarily identify with men and not people facing some kind of injustice’? No my loyalty here is to women's liberation and I believe acting in a misandric way harms that noble goal. BTW Do you think trans women are women? Why do so many feminists not?

I welcome anyone posting here and adding to the discussion/ /u/starspider is absolutely welcome here and I'm very interested to hear her opinions. We can't turn into TwoX / Feminism or any of the other hate subs who bans anyone who doesn't agree with the echo chamber. It should be a free area welcoming of everyone who wants to end sexism and promote equal rights for men and women. Women's rights are an integral part of that.

The massive flaw in her argument is this: when you respond to the hurt, abuse, and oppression that women experience daily at the hands of those of your gender with anger and dismissal, you fail to take accountability for these actions. I think sexism, both misogynism and misandry is wrong, stupid and bigoted. I do not dimiss anybody's experience of oppression. It is all to common and should be stamped out. Fighting oppression with bigotry is not the answer. Fighting sexism, with sexism, is not t…

I've been banned from pretty much every feminist sub. You have to understand that they do not exist to discuss or explore ideas. They exist to reinforce a misandrist agenda. I'd love to get your thoughts on the following questions: Do you believe the feminist movement contains a misandrist element? Can equal rights ever be achieved by the feminist movement given the undercurrent of posts that they are generating? Feminist male-bashing has come to sound like a cliche — a misogynist caricature. Feminism, its loudest proponents vow, is about fighting for equality. The man-hating label is either a smear or a misunderstanding. I will never understand why the Feminist movement doesn't seem to want to discuss their bigotry, or even accept it's there. This sub shows how prevelant it is. I can find outright misandry within 1 minute of reading any female space. This gender antagonism does nothing to advance the un…

The hate sub reaches a new low querying why male foetesus can't simply be aborted. If you thought Nazi Eugenics were a thing of the past, then you are absolutely wrong. It's alive and well in the Feminist movement.

At some point, if things aren't working out, you need to stop look externally and perhaps look at yourself? The singletons of the femcel movement conclude: In the context of dating - no I have never met one I’ve gone on dates with probably about 45 men in the past 7 or 8 years. I can say 2 stick out as HVM. I can count on both hands the number of HVM I’ve met in the last 30+ years; whether it’s friends, family members, or acquaintances. I’ve only briefly dated one seemingly HVM but I didn’t get …

This outright hate misandry hurts everyone. It hurts the people consuming it, and believing it, it hurts the men who are being vilified by it. It's outright sexism, pure and simple.

Anyone who can call themselves a "feminist" having read the sheer hatred, from that movement, on this sub is beyond me. There again you yourself said it was fine to be prejudiced so you are part of the problem. Prejudiced, bigoted, sexist feminists. Is there any other type? Certainly not on reddit.

We can't control people's thoughts. QED Being prejudiced is fine by your standards. I don't share those standards. Trying to pull people, kicking and screaming, out of their ignorance, bigotry and prejudice. That's a loan voice on reddit. Look you are actively promoting it's fine for people to be misandrist and hate people because of their gender! Think about that. You are part of the problem. Where do you personally draw the line? Racism? Agism ? Sexism (we know you think that's sort of OK) ?

I'm an optimist that education and experience can fix bigotry. Whether that's showing racists that POC aren't bad, or misogynists that their behaviour is backwards & stupid or misandrists are just as bad as misogynistic men. I believe people can overcome their prejudices and I also strongly believe prejudging and entire people based on race, religion, culture, creed, gender is stupid and backwards. Having read Reddit though, it's clear I'm in the minority, a hippy from a different era and that m…

Feminism is a broad church of various beliefs. Some are homophobes, some are transphobes, some are bigoted against people of color. The only thing that unites feminists is a hatred of men.

To be fair, if you read her view on the subreddit then it is all quite reasonable & what she reads I'm very pro. Powering up women, sharing experiences. She obviously manages to gloss over the outright misandry i.e. the parts where women advocate men kill themselves, refering to men as scrotes and the outright hatred on there. Which is, coincidentally, the bits that men object to. The rest of it, the concept of it as a subreddit, I fully buy into and support.

The misandry in this post has nothing to do with the woke left. The original poster is a bigoted, stone age, sexist knuckle dragger. Traditional roles were not created by men and pushed out onto women. They were made by both genders which is why they work for both genders and why they still persist in some way. As a man, break down and cry in front of your wife / girlfriend. Share your feelings with your wife / girlfriend. They're just totally disinterested. Women have been taught that men don't show feelings, just as men have. So when men show feelings women don't like it, because they don't expect or understand it.

I'm suggesting that there are as many men as women in the dating pool post 30. However the men who prolifically ask women for dates have been removed from the pool, as they are more likely to have paired off, due to going on more dates. This means the remaining pool are men who rarely ask women for dates and thus women get asked far less often. So the perception "Dick is abundant and low value" holds true in the early 20s, but trails off quickly because prolific date askers are thinned from the …

I think that's actually a compounding factor in favour of the amount of attention women receive collapsing over the years. Men's sex drive starts to wane and men are even less likely to pursure women as they are no longer driven by a desire to satisfy sexual longing. I agree there is a modulation in those numbers due to attractiveness and it's not as linear as presented but I believe the effect and curve in the dating pool follows that effect. In some ways it makes sense to do this from a strength of society point of view. Women take a long time to reproduce. Or a clueless, pitchfork holding, nut case spouting off on a discussion board because nobody listens to her in real life. You decide.... Oh, here’s another informed observation of hers she posted elsewhere I think your opinion is mostly informed by media and stereotyp…

You could replace "man" with "person of colour" on any feminist site and what they posted would be illegal.

Yep, Which is odd. I'm not women hating. When I see sexism here I call it. When I see sexism on feminist sites I call it. The big difference is I'm not banned in /r/MensRights but you'll get banned instantly, without any reason or communication why, on pretty much any feminist sub. Why?

I'm honestly looking for non-misandrist feminist sites. I've not found a single one. If you have the magic list, then please share.

It's really weird. Any feminist who came into here to discuss oppression due to patriarchy would be discussed openly. It's just not the same the other way round. It's either: The don't really believe in what they're saying, so don't want to discuss it They just hate men Possibly it's both? It's extremely sad you were banned from r/domesticviolence that is absolutely dangerous action that could be putting others are risk perpetuating what they claim to want to stop. Victim Blaiming. Disgraceful.

Had read the rules nothing I said contravened it. Couldn't reply as: subreddit message via /r/PornFreeRelationships[M] sent 15 hours ago You have been temporarily muted from r/PornFreeRelationships. She should know. Without doubt women are the most sexist gender. Read through any of their female space forums. Just check out mumsnet women's rights Right now I count 19 homophobic / anti trans threads of 51. That's 37% of all posts being discriminatory. Misandrists may hate men but if you are gay / trans then expect outright vilification and hostility. I'm not even sure what they're posting is legal in the UK

As I say toxic masculinity was NOT created by men. It was created by men and women together, it is perpetuated by men and women together.

I honestly, honestly believe that the majority of women would drop you like a stone if you started talking about your feelings with them. They are just not interested. It's my belief that the gender stereotypes were not made by men and pushed out by men. Rather men and women created them together with buy in from both genders. That's why it's so hard to move past them. Feminists want equality, so do men, but we're so entrenched into our positions it's like wading through treacle trying to get ou…

Men and women created these gender roles together over hundreds of years. It is unlikely we'll be able to change them even over a period of decades. Whilst there's definitely been progress on both sides the walk to equality will be long and slow.

I'm pro women's rights, I'm for equality. I do find that "feminism" sounds more like promotion of femininity rather than "equality". Certainly most feminist areas are misandrist in tone and nature and often not looking at equality. I've often been perplexed that a gender, so held back by sexism, is often so keen to practice it. I do despise gender oppression on both sides. As any right thinking person should. A quick scan of mumsnet Feminism forum just shows gender facism. Feminists may be misan…

I remember being 15 and a similar thing happened. Went to go and inquire about a job at a local shop but the lady said they were looking for a girl and wouldn't le me apply. Although, to be honest, women are far more discriminated against (covertly) in job applications so I guess it gives us a taste of what female job application is like. Unpopular opinion, I'm ready for the down votes.

Don’t be taken in by sensationalist headlines. The news media is there to sell clicks so report the sensational. Extrapolating negative views of Islam to Muslims mean you are playing into Murdoch’s hands. He’s playing the tune, you’re the one dancing. BAME are hugely underrepresented in the workplace this leads to two problems It builds an equal society, which builds resentment and can lead to major problems down the line (think N. Feminist shut down a men's suicide awareness event. Some bloke goes on about dismantling the patriarchy, some woman is saying "I can't believe they held it here". There are a lot of people turned up to protest the event. That requires a real reason to get people to give up their time to attend. No way would "men's suicide awareness" be enough for that. There's more to this than the title & video are saying.

But that's the nub of what I'm getting at. The age of consent is 16 where he was in 15 makes a huge difference. It feels that most people are unhappy with the age of consent being so young an believe 18 would offer more protection.

That's probably why you find it so much more shocking than me. The age of consent is 16 so it's not that far off. That's not to say I think any of it was a great idea. It's obviously NOT

Sexual relations at 13 definitely wrong. If you believe 16 is to low then you should campaign to get the age of consent raised.

the salient point is this: I do know though that 15 years and 364 days is not that much different from 16 years and 0 days. Do you think it's OK for a 16 year old to have a kid? Do you think it literally changes at the stroke of midnight to be OK form not OK ?

I honestly think YOU are over thinking this. I remember, back in the 80s, men's magazines used to sell books of "pick up lines" or "pheromone spray" and all sorts of gimmicks to have more action. The bad news is that NONE of it works. Multiple dates through the day: will not work Changing location every 15 minutes: will not work Dating over a coffee does NOT need to be boring Personally I think all of this "gamification" is pure BS. It makes you fake and people smell phonies like sharks smell bl…

The problem with that is you are trying to put an arbitrary age limit on a continuous, grey process. At 15 was I physically, and emotionally, ready to do with a sexual relationship? Yes, I think I was. Was I physically and mentally ready to be a father? Not sure, possibly. Would being a dad at 15 have negatively impacted my life? Maybe, from a materialistic point of view. Then look the other way: my children would have had a much younger, much more energetic father; at 40 my fathering would be d…

Yes agree, quite possible. I am a reflection of what many in society think. Having not gone through that and looking, with adult eyes, at how horny I was at 15 then the obvious conclusion was it was a deeply satisfying experience for him. Hands up, that's how so many people will look at it. Now what you do about that, how that changes I don't know.

If he were 16 would you all still be so unhappy about it? The law wouldn’t care anymore. I know at 15 I’d been sexually actively and was mature enough for sexual relations. Don’t get me wrong it shows real hypocrisy as I’m sure a 26 year old man and 15 year old girl would have the pitch forks out and foaming at the mouth brigade. But we know men and women aren’t equal, in so many ways....

I think we've got to be careful to remember that one crazy's opinion is not all women's opinion. As for the tweet, as soon as anyone starts spouting facts without sighting any sort of evidence you need to take a lorry load of salt with anything they say. She's there to sell books, sell videos and is trying to find her audience. Saying outrageous things is a better way of getting column inches than being sane.

I agree in some ways. The people posting on internet forums are probably the vocal, frothing at the mouth, minority. Easy to look at "gamer" posts and decide they are all misogynists when the majority play their games and move on. The men who hate men are just angry people who hate everyone. Plenty of them around.

If wives f*cked their husbands, post 40, there'd be a lot less sexually starved older men around. I pointed this out on the /r/TwoXChromosomes site and they just instantly banned me. (I did put it more delicately than here). They then said if I used another account to post I'd be banned from reddit forever. Sometimes people just don't want to hear the truth. Read any feminist website, mumsnet.com is perfect for it. It's just full of misandry. It's a shame really because it really harms the cause of feminism. I once pointed out that saying once you had a relationship with a problem man, and now you distrust men, is like saying I was once robbed by a person of color and now I don't like them. Not one of them could see that, or understand. "You do know you are writing to people who have been hurt by men ?" came the reply.

You know I tried once to buy into all this "new man", show my feelings BS. My wife said to me, can you take our son to a children's party. I replied "to be honest, I feel uncomfortable and anxious about that. There are a lot of woman there that I don't know, I don't really feel a part of the mom's group and I find it difficult to be in that situation". Her reply was "suck it up buttercup, I have to put up with lots". Now, whilst women may say they want 50/50 or they want this that and the other …

/r/TwoXChromosomes/ is a sexist forum dedicated to saying how awful men are. If you even dare, dare to question the narrative then it’s an instant ban and threatening to fully ban from Reddit. No debate or discussion allowed. It’s gender fascism. I used to read mumsnet relationships for a bit. If you believe the incredibly high standards espoused on there then the human race would’ve died out years ago.
