Literally unfounded statement. My ex wife and I didn’t want kids for nearly 12 years. Basically fomo got us into kids

I’ll adjust my expectations I think, at the moment it suits me fine.

At least this one puts out.

I don’t want / can’t have more kids so that’s not a concern.

Yeah that’s a valid point. When we do Meet up, it’s dinner, movies, drinks, a walk, sex, and then…. See you in a few days! It’s growing on me

I have a high sex drive so values aside, I needed sex. I got into the apps, quickly realised I could reinvent my entire self and so I did… Gym, put on 4kg. New clothes and appearance. New confidence after each date, and just swiped til the cows Come home. Most were deranged, crazy but a good time. Each woman my confidence just grew and grew and it got easier and easier. I’m late 30’s, grey hairs, good shape and self employed - it doesn’t take too much with the right audience. Younger women deal …

Yeah it’s final. I’m curious about the situation I’m in, I’m not against it.

Yeah that’s what I’m curious about I guess, but found myself at that point by accident. How’s it going for you so far?

That’s a great reply, thank you.

My female counsellor told me I was in an emotionally abusive relationship. I said “I’m sorry, what do I do to fix it”. She said…. “Nothing…. You’re the one being abused by your wife. Maybe she should see a therapist, not you.” She said it in front of my ex and it was wonderful. I’ll never forget it.

Mine “ruined my life” (pronounced as ‘set me free’) by leaving me for her own reasons. Now my girlfriend is 7yrs younger, hot as hell, loves to have sex, loves being pampered by me, is appreciative and honest and I’m actually happy. I didn’t realise how unhappy I was. Only sticking point… seeing the kids enough. I’d hate to say it, but move on. You’ll be appreciated by someone more than what you are now.

Absolutely textbook to what happened to me. Literally to the letter man. It’s madness

Same story again and again and again in this sub. It’s madness. There is no family value for western women especially, I feel. So many guys here that have genuinely done no wrong, just booted out the equation. I’m now with an Asian girl and family comes first, NO MATTER WHAT. It’s a totally different vibe. It’s early days and I’m being cagey as fuck but it’s noticeably different

As per my new side girl - “she ain’t your friend, she’s your ex and she pushed you out. Move on” As hard as that is, and as circumstantial as that is, for me it’s the truth.

Hahahahahaha man I’d need at least 10min to explain But fuck it, I’m in for the ride and it’s keeping me laughing and smiling and distracted so who gives a shit right!? Life is a trip!

Trust that you’re exactly where you need to be right now. You’re on a different path to anyone, to me… trust that path and reap the reward because IT WILL COME.

I admittedly was so scared, I had a 17yr old kid giving me fashion advice for my date. He was so stoked to help at the clothing store. Take the risk, you have NOTHING to lose. Practice, sound like a loser, and get back on that fucking horse my man. Life isn’t done yet.

Thanks mate, you meet the people you need, and you can only trust life to take you exactly where you need to be. Trust what’s happening to you, and when ‘it happens’ be equally trusting. Let’s not let these life destroyers change our futures for the worse. We’ve all got this!

Some people have complex finances, and having kids in a marriage can reduce protections of these finances. For example, I own a business, a trust with a commercial property and no other assets. My business owns it all for tax reasons. If my wife and I were splitting, my trust would be mostly secure. But because we have kids, and I’m the sole beneficiary of the trust And the father of the children, the contents ARE open to financial assessment for asset split. If I were to have preplanned a divor…

I’m lucky enough to have a cannabis medical script for stress, and I use the cannabis gummies to sleep. A quarter dose maybe every 2nd or 3rd night to get a solid sleep. Beats drinking

I hear you about the relationship thing. I don’t exactly wanna jump into it again.

She told me about 3 weeks ago, but my mood fluctuates. I have good days and terrible days, apparently this goes on for some time! At least you have an end in site, we’ve not reached any of the steps yet as both our lawyers are away over Christmas

Hahaha I take it you’re not Aussie! Thats a classic saying “How was your weekend” “Off it’s fucking head mate, and yours?”

Where are you meeting these women? I’m not rushing… but a big part of the relationship I craved was sex, and it’s something I’ll be addressing as soon as I move out.

Hahahaha this is the first time I’ve heard of ‘Design a Divorce’ and I love it! I’m really keen to see how the kids go with JUST ME. Currently they’re both hating me out of default, but I’m a really fun Dad when I’m not “regulating” myself around the ex. She tries to outfun me most days cos she has all day with the kids while I’m at work. So by the time I get home I’m done. It’ll be extra fun when she’s also tired from work, financially stressed etc.

I can’t wait. I’m fortunate enough to own a business which will allow my financial future post child support to be better than average - I’m grateful for that. I intend to start being me asap once papers are signed, mostly domestic travelling and maybe an overseas trip or two

I won’t be doing it again! Been chatting to this other girl I’ve known for YEARS. As soon as I was becoming a leaning post, I stopped answering the phone. Take your shit elsewhere.

Cheers man, I’ll be riding my moto, hard enduro, gym, fitness and MTB. No dating apps, just hope to meet some pocket rocket in my travels who’s got the same sex drive as me. THAT is important given how much that’s lacked over the last 6 years of our relationship.

Awesome man that sounds good. I’m currently sitting here diligently waiting for them to return from an outing to the in laws I’m excluded from (apparently this time is awkward?) But I’m so bored. I crave physical contact, laughter, humour and some fun. I’m an active guy and can’t wait to meet someone who’s keen for an adventure here and there… not boring monotony. I’ve been warned of the emotional roller coaster. I’ve gone from happy to curious to angry to tired in 6 hours today and it’s slowly …

Will do. Just reminded my ex I’m not vacating (I’ve already secured a rental) until an agreement is in place. Man she was pissed.

Same here man, it’s been 15 days since she told me. She’s given me false hope 3 times. Finally jts ‘final’ and I’m wrecked. Funny last night I explained to her what she has failed to do for me instead of us highlighting my shortcomings to her and she acknowledged what I was saying, but it didn’t change how she felt She acknowledged she has also failed me as a partner but definitely not in Ways that would warrant a divorce yet she wants a divorce based on fixable issues in our relationship From t…

Oh I’m prepared, family law, and a property law expert on board. Tonight’s the night for her final word. There’s hardly equity in the home. Give me my business and commercial property and watch me soar in 5 years.

She went to one session half way through she said she’s done. Therapist is immensely confused

How convenient that I paid for an $80,000 deck, a $10k solar and $4k roof repair and she has 300hrs of annual leave as an employee in my company. How fucking convenient

I’m not. I refuse. I have legal advice not to, until my lawyer writes up what my wife wants, and submits it to her lawyer.

I said “tell me what you want, and what you need to do, to stay living in our home. If I keep my commercial property and my business I can rebuild in 5 years”. Then she said we can try again possibly. Then she AGAIN reverted to “I’m done”.
/r/Divorce_Men29/11/24 11:10 PM

Agreed. Yesterday she again said she’d consider trying to fix it. Then by last night she said “I wanna break up”. This is the 3rd time this sequence has played out in 15 days. Now today she’s upset cos I’m fully integrated into the house like she’s asked. I made breakfast. Played with my son for an hour. Made him breakfast. Made her coffee. Washed dishes. Done 3 loads of washing, folded it. Took the bins out. IM DOING WHAT YOU ASKED. but she refuses to acknowledge it or give me a chance. The the…

Same as me mate, except 14yrs together and a 5 and 3 yr old and I’m getting kicked out. I’m terrified

“Repulsed by the sheer existence of me” is how I feel. That and the holding onto hope for nothing…

So it sounds like I’ll lose out in this arrangement? I won’t even get anything out of the house if we split? I’m asking in terms of me then being able to buy my own home once we split.
