To be fair, men do the exact opposite, which is also a problem. Even when it's legitimately rape , after a few months, men start to remember it differently... Start justifying it to themselves in one way or another, ultimately believing it was mutual.

I mean when men are victims, here, but it may well be true of male attackers as well. As a generalization, and subject to the "your mileage may vary" clause: Men rationalize and alter their own memories to be largely focused on everything being ok, being a choice, etc. Women seem to do the opposite.

Human memory is funny that way. Tell a story or even lie often enough, and it becomes indistinguishable from the truth to the person telling it. It's why conscious, deliberate optimism is so awesome... It's also why sexual assault is so hard to prosecute, and so damned insidious.

The rate of arrest for those accused of rape is only 25% in the United States and I check that statistics through multiple sources. The percentage that see jail time would be about 6% since RAINN presumed a 50% non reporting rate. I think activist are mistaken for using the 3% figure by adding in estimated unreported rapes but they chose what is probably the lowest estimates out there.

I don't blame feminism for rape being hard to prosecute. The problem is the nature of the crime being something we normally do consensually for pleasure in private with no witnesses becomes a serious crime when one party doesn't consent to it.

If we are going to attack feminist we must be careful not to leave ourselves open to easy attack by being as deceptive and unreasonable as they are. They have a legitimate case to make on the handling of rape but the their attention/power seeking sensationalist activist have gotten the best of them. RAINN has bravely acted as a moderating force but even they have a long way to go when it comes to fairly recognizing realistic numbers on male victimization and female perpetration.
