I'm pretty damn tired of the "safe space" mewling and whining women do. What the hell do you need to be kept "safe" from? You get "safe spaces", but when men create a "men-only" group shrieks of SEXISM echo throughout the Internet. Dear women: you are not special flowers that need to be protected and shielded. Put simply, man the fuck up for once and recognize that you don't need "safe spaces" - you need to get thicker skins, better coping mechanisms and quit making a big fucking deal out of being female. A lot of us really don't CARE that you're playing a damn video game while being female - shut up and play.

Make a male only group then. I hate this attitude though about "Female Gamers". The reason these individuals get negative responses is because they identify as "female gamers" rather than just "gamers". You don't have to pretend to be male in gaming forums or games because people have no idea what gender you are until you mention it or speak over microphone. Not that that is an excuse, but the kind of turds who actually make those dumbshit sexist comments are generally the same turds who claim to have fucked my mum in the ass and that they could kill me in real life.

If women feel like they need a female-only area to play, that's on them. They're setting a restriction on themselves, and that's their business... As long as they aren't coming out and demonizing all men (or even most), or refusing to allow us the same opportunity for a male-only space... I'm ok with it. Let them.

We won't probably even notice. But if what they want is integration into the whole community, this won't help. There are absolutely some very socially odious guys out there who probably make it hard on any known girls... But those guys aren't going to learn how to be mature by being insulated from all women, either.

As for the male-only space... Well, I really don't feel the need, myself, in gaming. I could use one IRL, but again, gender in gaming is an invisible trait to me, about which I couldn't care less.

I am, however, one of the many kickstarter backers for this particular game, and have an interest in it being enjoyable... Cray-cray politics and drama aren't enjoyable, so I will happily support such a space for either men or women if others want it, and it can be maturely handled (I assume it would be, but this is the internet, so it's worth saying).

Women online, and especially women in gaming, have it very, very tough in ways that men absolutely do not understand. This isn’t an argument for the community to have, it’s a fact.

What the fuck is he talking about. Otherwise, just the usualy GURRL GMRRR thing, nothing special here. I'm all for female only groups if they want, though if i would be female i would never want to be part of such, but why not allow it?

The thing is, how would this be a safe space? Separated by rules from the others? That is privilege, sexism, which should not be allowed. Also, how do you check if someone is a woman?

Did anyone ask for a men's gamer group to be created? No? Then stop complaining about what you assume the response to such a request will be.
