I think the issue is one of focus. People really want to talk about issues facing men and don't feel the MRM is as interested in that as in bashing feminists.

You're a smaller, newer group. You can go around pissing people off in hopes that the few important things get through, or you can actually focus on the important things themselves.

That's pretty much the feminist line of thinking when they enter a male space and make it all about women. You can either try to out-feminist the feminists (not sure there's a way to win in that contest) or you can put more energy into addressing male concerns.

Problem is, where do the funds for feminism go? When people donate, when the government gives money, what does it go? To groups like NOW that are against shared custody because it believes men are abusers, to groups who lobby against having men's health boards. Feminism has an arm in academia, women's studies, that serves to teach the people who attend the classes (from all the various examples I've seen of what goes on in these classes) that ALL men are oppressing ALL women, if a male student attends the class and raises their hand they'll have DEATH GLARES at them. Feminism continues to make debunked claims like the 77 cent wage gap that even the PRESIDENT of the USA still recites, even though research shows that that 'gap' doesn't actually exist. Motivated by "women's rights" the president of the USA basically told colleges that if you have have evidence suggesting that a male student has a 50.0000000000000000001% chance of raping a female student that he should be expelled, maybe I'm misremembering the wording and it was just about rapists in general but all the cases you've seen on this site show that even in legal court that a woman's word can be taken over a man's.

Are these various actions approved of even by MOST feminists? No. While different groups may support different of those things and all, the general sense of 'female superiority' is pursued by the feminist MOVEMENT I.E. the people at the top, who are usually rather radical, feminists themselves who actually fight for women's rights and actually SUPPORT some of our beliefs (whether they realize it or not) we have no problem with.

We're not anti-women, we support women's rights, but in modern western feminism we see laws, legal precedence, and incorrect studies held as fact because of feminism. Studies are shown that, more than any other group, mothers are the most child abusers. Studies show that when you don't have a rape definition of 'forced penetration' and rather 'forced sex' (so if a woman forces your penis into her that counts as rape) that male and female victims are about the same outside jail. Studies have shown that of domestic violence where only one party abuses the other party women are usually the perpetrators, and yet there are laws on the book that no matter the situation, that if the police came into the house of a man who's been beaten, battered, and bruised, with children in the household, the woman can just say that he threatened her and he's the one who ends up in jail.

Feminism resulted in the tender years doctrine which makes parental custody go primarily to the woman, beforehand it went to the man because it was believed that raising the child went hand in hand with the financial responsibility, and now giant government funded groups filled with feminists and are the ones who have the money, people, and resources to make studies, to lobby laws, to change what's taught in schools are against the default position on standard custody disputes being shared custody because of the non-standard cases where the MAN is the abuser.

THAT is the movement. You may know individuals who are feminists, the individuals are usually great, they're usually moderates who want equality, they might believe in some more.... 'unfair' beliefs because they had been taught them but they're reasonable. They're feminists, not feminism. Why? Because they're one individual. You can throw two moderate feminists who believe in equality into a pit together and they might never agree on what feminism is, a feminist may define what feminism is to her, but she is not in charge of NOW, she does not have government funding, she does not put advertisements on TV.

We're not anti-women, we're anti-feminism because it has SYSTEMATICALLY oppressed men in the modern world. The fact that feminism has everyone believing that feminism is the ONLY avenue for women's rights is part of our struggle, for while that remains the case we'll ALWAYS be oppressed by organizations like NOW.
