Feminists make false claims relating to violence against women.

Women are 3x more likely to get away with murdering their spouse and on average get 10 years less than men when they are give a custodial sentence.

The quotation only has one statistic in it to discuss; the rest is anecdotal evidence.

"The average prison sentence for men who kill their intimate partners is 2 to 6 years. Women who kill their partners are sentenced, on average, to 15 years. (17)"

Now, if their source had been accessible, I would provide you with a methodological analysis assessing the validity of this statistic. It isn't, so I can't. Maybe it's a fair and unbiased look at partner-murder sentences across the country, maybe it ignores cases where the battered woman's defense was successfully used to get a verdict of 'not guilty.' In such cases, there would be a woman who had murdered her partner, received a sentence of 0 years, but whose sentence would not be factored in to those averages.

Of course, this is all speculation, because their source is no longer available.

The stats are in this article are lies.

I was reading a post at Ask A Feminist where the reader asked why feminists feel justified in lying about statistics: rape, the wage gap, dv, etc. The answer was that the numbers really don't matter, they are just a hook to get people to care about the real issues that harm women. And if lies are for a good reason, then there's nothing REALLY wrong with using them. And the scary part was she really believed it and was not ashamed and saw nothing wrong with it, she even thought it was noble and for the greater good.

Another reason the argument that Kasandra Perkins should have had a gun to protect herself falls flat.

That is terrible logic. Self defense is not the same thing as killing a sleeping man that abused you. Perkins would have had a chance if she carried a firearm. Worst case she is in prison, not dead.

My favorite part about this statistic is they pretend that all murder is equal. That is, poisoning the many slowly and replacing his heart meds with ecstasy is the exact same as beating someone to death in a fit of rage. Y'know, because manslaughter and first degree murder are the exact same thing and should be punished equally.

So a man usually gets 2 to 6 years and a woman usually gets 15 years but somehow you found that a man got 18 months and a woman got 3 years so I feel like these cases don't relate very well.
