A lot of feminist complaints about sexism faced by women are made while ignoring equal and often identical sexism faced by men. Objectification is an example - feminist complaint on that ignores cover art for romance novels, various holiday and birthday cards, gift paper, and other products with objectified men pictured on them, along with the many magazines which make their entire profit selling photos of teen boys to teen girls (and whoever else buys those mags.)

It's the same with other issues, whether criminal, as rape, or social, as in expectations of appearance. As I've stated before, there is not a single indignity, not a single form of oppression, not a single human rights violation to which women are subject which is not also visited upon men. It's not something I was unaware of before, but actively thinking about it made me notice it more...

Silly example... but silly as it is, it still points to the bigger issue: A lot of the backlash which men face over women's social issues is entirely manufactured by feminism through selective attention to ordinary human behavior. It is not that only one sex faces gender-attention, or is the butt of gender-humor, is objectified, is dismissed, is burdened with false expectations, is stereotyped, or is coveted, watched, and talked about. It is that feminism only cares when women are the victims, and to hell with everyone else.

In fact, this gender-related blindness is so rampant alter the perception of obvious men's issues, such as conditions causing mass destruction and death, with 91% of those killed being men, so that journalists still focus on women in their coverage, as in this article posted earlier today here, and politicians make idiotic statements like that of Hillary Rodham Clinton, who labeled women the primary victims of war even as she mentioned as her reason the men who die in war.

Back to the petty example - and it is incredibly petty to state that one needs feminism because one does not want to use pet language for the vagina - it strikes me that the vast majority of the time this sub gets hit with accusations of OMG! MISOGYNY! it's like that: the complaint is about something that is done to both sexes by each other, or something that happens to both sexes, not a misogynistic behavior. Rather than being concerned about the image of the sub when we see that accusation leveled, perhaps we should reevaluate the credibility of the accuser.
