I am not sure if that is what is called. It is the list that you get on after you complete your sentence for a sex related crime. The problem I have with the list is that it doesn't allow a person to try and rehabilitate themselves after they serve their time. To me it seems like a cruel punishment since it hampers your ability to try and right yourself. Now, the list does nothing, and I mean nothing to protect anyone. Just because the person cannot live close to a school for example, does not mean that they cannot take a bus or drive to the school. It is a complete waste of tax payer money. Also, from what I remember reading (and if anyone would like to link statistics) most cases of sexual assault are between people who know each other and not complete strangers. Furthermore, the rate of recidivism is very low for these types of cases so the list does nothing but hampers the persons ability to reclaim their lives. Another thing I will add is that you do not necessarily need a victim in order to get on the list. You may get on the list for these examples; peeing in public (does not have to be in front of people), an 18 year old sleeping with a 16 year old (consensual), sexting with a minor (17 or under), having nude pictures of 15 year olds (They don't even have to be real, they can be drawn pictures). Actually, as it stands, you would get more time for having pictures of a nude 14 year old for example then actually molesting a 14 year old, due to mandatory minimums, but that is another topic.

The Short: Since most Sex Offenders (Note that sex offenders do not equal rapists or child molesters) are male, I post this in this thread. The list does nothing to aide victims, it just hampers people from trying to rehabilitate their lives and it costs us a lot of tax payer money. I propose we start a petition at least so that we may try to remove this piece of "Feel Good" legislation.
