I am, partly by default and partly by decision.

I could find a woman, but I can't be bothered when I consider the disincentives. Consequently I only work as much as I need to support myself, and have lots of free time.

Lost my last serious relationship because she pushed for a ring and the fear of divorce and losing my kids forced me to walk away when the ultimatum hit (she wasn't expecting me to call her bluff). Since then, I've turned inward. Working on hobbies, exercising, focusing on my job, casual flings, etc.

I suppose I'm going my own way for now but I really want to settle down with a family eventually. I can only hope that the laws begin to turn around in the next few years so that it's fair again.

Definitely. I've always been dissatisfied with "the rules" of social interaction and that whole topic, and the origin of this for me was not gender politics, but I think gender politics is just a facet of the whole. There are quite a few things broken with the systems of our current culture, not the least of which is all the noise surrounding interactions between men and women.

Building your own way is frustrating because by its own nature it is undefined and requires making mistakes. Going with the flow and just carrying on with the same broken patterns that you're used to is contented ignorance - it's easy and mediocre. I can see why some people would choose the latter, but I'm not one of them. I don't like other people enough to indulge that level of bullshit.

I have been since about 2006 but I didn't know it was an actual "thing" until 2009. No dating, no supporting women. I'm polite and friendly but that's all. And I use my extensive social media connections to get out the word on men's issues.

However I am still career-oriented, I'm politically active, and I give money/do work for some non-profits. Haven't walked away from society altogether.

Don't know. Never put that label on myself, and never even knew about that label until about a year ago.

I'm just annoyed and/or bored pretty quickly with pretty much anyone I interact with and wish I was somewhere else by myself. And I have no reason to assume that people feel any different about me than I feel about them.

In a way that "MGTOW" seems to me like the logical conclusion of the "men are appliances" attitude that pervades society. Men are only allowed to seek help and cooperate if it is not for their own good but for some greater good or larger goal. If some guy looks for help for himself its usually "man up!" or "what do you have to offer?". The only exception to that has been sex, which they aren't allowed to take into their own hands for good (pun?). And more and more men find asking themselves "Why not? It's like that with everything else."

The rules are highly skewed against men and I can understand why some men, particularly in the USA choose to GTOW, but it really only needs a bit of extra care to push things back into balance in your own life.

Though comments in favour of pickup artistry always get down-voted on this subreddit, learning these skills will give a man some leverage, not in order to pull women, but to maintain a fair balance within relationships. Learning PUA helps men understand women.
