The reason I ask is that I have been hounded to do so for nearly 4-5 years by my childs mother. By being obnoxious and uncooperative with the court in matters of parenting time and child support, this woman believes I will be willing to merely give up with the promise of not being financially responsible anymore. I just have to sign on the dotted line and my sufferering will be over.

To clarify, I have always maintained that I would be responsible and pay but I expect maternal responsibility in the form of not obstructing time with my child. To date, I have not even had one parenting visit with my child even after court orders for it to be done. There has been no repercussion for the mother. The child will be six soon and I have spent nearly 4 years it this and suffered needless hardship from a woman who was a casual acquaintance who is mad that I was never receptive to a relationship and was brutally honest on the thought of sharing a child.
