I'm honestly not sure why what I said is so controversial. Social standards exist, whether we like them or not, so when going against them, talk about it.

Some of the people in that thread seem to find this idea completely offensive, and I'm honestly not sure why.

Can someone who isn't just looking to call me an idiot or asshole please explain why the idea of making things clear between yourself and any potential date before the date is such an offensive idea?
