When my son was born I asked to watch and did so. My son Didn't scream or cry. As I have said before, I wouldn't make the same choice again.
On the other hand one of my daughters screams all the time for almost no reason. They are babies, that is what they do.
I guess what I am trying to say is that because A child crys doesnt mean all children do and vice versa. We should stop the practice because it is wrong.

I do not remember. Later he didn't seem to have any discomfort from it. He was always our best sleeper though either way.

Your questions are not. I've come to grips with what happened.
could have been.
So do I. For example each of us is different with different tolerances. What the downvoters on here don't understand is I am not defending the practice. God forbid we have a rational discussion.
I'm pointing out that the surgery doesn't have to be traumatic. I had it done as a baby and get this: I don't remember it. Shocking. Like almost everything else from being 1 year old or younger. So attacking it based on a botched one, or the appearance of a painful one, isn't the right way to go about changing the publics' opinion. It's about body integrity. Not pain management.
I had back surgery 6 weeks ago. I weaned myself off of all pain meds in 1 week. (doctor wouldn't let me go any faster) I feel/felt no pain at the incision site. I've torn toenails off. I've mangled a finger in a set of gears. Basically I'm an accident waiting to happen and I have never reacted to traumatic pain. Maybe my son has my tolerance. IANA Medical professional, merely relating the experience and taking the downvotes that I expect in this sub from people disagreeing and not wanting to engage in a dialog about the best way to attack this horrible practice of male genital mutilation. I'll assume the downvotes are not from you.
