Jesus, I saw some of these characteristics in my ex. She wasn't smart and started her "work" before she even got a ring. Though she was bitching about not having one yet.

She began to isolate me from friends. At my sister's wedding, I spent a lot of time catching up with people I haven't seen in 15 years. She was pissed that I didn't spend enough time with her. She started a real big fight right at the wedding and embarrased the shit out of me in front of my family.
She began demanding more of my free time. I work 6 day weeks. She works 5. She was always around at end of Day 6 (my one real night to go out and do stuff) and all of Day 7 (my one day off) as well as Day 7 evening. Never mind she had an entire day to herself while I worked. Then wanted a phone call every day or else she'd get really pissed.
She discouraged me from working on my certifications. Even on my one day off. Why? Because she wanted to go to the mall or whatever. And god forbid she go by herself.

Troll or not, that would work. Sadly, sounds like my past 2 previous relationships. Glad my current girlfriend isn't anything like that.

That answer is actually a good description about how abusive relationships develop and should be mandatory for all people to learn. As the the person answering said, anyone can fall victim to this sort of behavior if they are not careful.

Sadly this is something that's usually taught by abusive parents during childhood. They go on to spread this 'disease' in their adult relationships.
