He needs to sue, post haste. Probably in PA.

This is Defamation per se, and he shouldn't have to prove damages.

It might be worth it to see one of the letters she is writing, but considering she has basically told him that she is committing this tort of of defamation per se in her email to him, it seems difficult for her to mount a defense.

He should definitely contact a lawyer to discuss his other potential legal remedies.

LOL, "prosopagnosia"? Someone took a blow to the head or something. This person is fantastical and megalomaniacal. What "major newspaper" did she work for when she can't even speak proper English? She's obviously mentally ill.

There's a good defamation case against this individual, libel tends to be taken more seriously than slander, and in her own words she makes clear her intent is to defame her target's reputation.
