without commenting on the thread itself, cuz i haven't read it yet...that user didn't say they were there to represent /mensrights, but rather to speak for and about the MRM in general. not saying that's better or worse, just pointing out the distinction.

From the few comments I read over there it seems they are taking that MRAs invitation to demand they explain all the negativity among MRAs.

When's the last time you saw a feminist think it was fair to ask a single feminist to explain all the negativity in feminism?

I appreciate them trying to bridge some gaps but I doubt that post did any good.

Although there are plenty of "heads up their asses" feminists on there, I'd have to say JethroSC is managing to keep his cool really well considering he's in, obviously, hostile territory. Of course, he does not represent an entire movement or sub-reddit. However, he is encouraging polite discourse. There are those blindly devoted to feminism's ideals (not to be confused with it's practice) whom he is wasting his time on, but encouraging any kind of polite conversation, without completely flipping his shit, is a step in the right direction. I'd be more concerned if he was one of the radical MRMs in there just to be an asshole rather than making an honest effort at understanding one another. If he manages to get even one feminist to break out of the circle jerk and actually read some of the hard evidence presented and consider that feminism is hardly the cornerstone of gender politics, it's worth it.

FYI I was not trying to "represent /r/MensRights". I was representing a movement that got hate for the wrong reasons, and you're all welcome to give your own versions.

Yes, we just LOVE feminism. This guy can honestly just go fuck himself.

EDIT: Christ in a handbasket that was just painful. Instead of listing genuine problems men face in today's society he goes on to dressing up the MRM as feminism by proclaiming all our problems to be social ones, which is complete and utter bullshit. We do not care about that, we just want equality under the fucking law.

I got over there and it made me pissed off. I started ranting and raving, especially because the guy didn't correlate with many of our views on feminism.
