The same girl has been falsely accusing me of rape for almost eight years. Long story short, she cheated on me with our housemate one night. I broke up with her for doing that. I also refused to pay her rent for her anymore or drive her around. That is what set her off; she wanted "revenge" for me refusing to be her bitch, so she started lying. Understandable teenage insanity I guess, except she's 25 now and she's still doing it. She always worms her way into every group of friends I make and does it over and over again. Everyone I know hears I'm a rapist, and I am ALWAYS the LAST person to be informed that the lie is spreading again. I don't find out until after EVERYONE has heard it, and never get a chance to even attempt to defend myself to anyone who believes it.

I haven't had one girlfriend in the past 8 years who hasn't heard within four days of us getting together that I am a rapist. Interestingly, this has had no effect on any of those relationships, because those girls already knew my disposition and therefore were unable to believe that it could be true. It's the friendships that suffer, though. People just stop talking to me and avoid eye contact and such.

Can I take any sort of legal action against her?
