Modern apologists do not admit it, but Dr John Harvey Kellogg was succinct: Doctor John Harvey Kellogg said: “A remedy for masturbation which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment. In females, the author has found the application of pure carbolic acid to the clitoris an excellent means of allaying the abnormal excitement.”

Did you know they use circumcision as a way to control slaves, they believe if they circumcise these brutes "as they put" it would lower their sex drive and they would not want to have sex with the white women.

There are a lot of misleading information about circumcision from the religious to the bizarre where the foreskin is used to make anti-wrinkle skin cream. So mutilating the penis is a form of hatred, control, envy and profit.

We are not talking about hair or fingernail here, what other part of the human body does society advocate in chopping off. we hear that they wont remember the pain or feel any different. One could also argue that we could cut off a baby's pinkie fingers it would heal and they would grow up not missing it since they never really was aware that they had it in the first place.

The main point is they had no say in what happen to them, if circumcision was so great why don't we have adults lining up to to get cut? it's beneficial isn't it? it's the magical preventative of one of the most feared virus, or so the story goes.

I'm curious to know if anyone here had their children's genitals mutilated to deprive their children of sexual pleasure as adults. I know the general consensus is against it, but did anyone choose to? I'm not looking to fault anyone for their beliefs, just wondering if anyone did and why.

I don't have kids yet, but I likely won't circumcise when I do. I'll argue with the future wife if I have to.

To tell the truth I find MR's vigorous opposal to circumcision pretty off putting. I think of it as a parental rights issue and not a men's right issue. I don't find the argument that parents shouldn't make life altering decisions for their child to be very compelling when parents are responsible for much more important decisions. Fighting parental rights is unnecessary and does more harm than good.

This issue honestly gets in the way of far more real and important issues.
