Alright so I'm 21, I live close to the downtown core in a big city and I have a roommate. The thing is that my apartment really isn't very nice. It's pretty boring, the main floor is on the ground level and the bedrooms are in a semi-basement. I have to cram all of my shit into a relatively small room, one that has pretty much no personality.

The thing is that I'm proud of the fact that I live without my parents. The great majority of people my age still live with their parents in this area, there are guys in their late 20s that still do. Typically when I flirt with women I can actually see their face change when they realize I support myself and I think it makes me a bit more attractive, especially to older ones for some reason.

I'm working on increasing my income, I'll be graduating university soon and I've got a few side projects on the go but I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience with not living in a particularly nice place and bringing girls over? I also have to worry about my roommate (who is also my landlord) who's super anal about bringing anyone over, he wants 24 hours notice, no noise at night, blah blah blah
