According to a friend in law enforcement it is legally impossible to discriminate against a man based on gender(and a Caucasian based on race). Sad, ain't it?

The lawyers logic is flawed. Lesbians and Gay men are similar but not identical classes. Saying a Lesbian can't hate Gay men is like saying a person of African ancestry can't hate a person of South American Ancestry because of their race.

They might share a darker shade of skin than Europeans, but they aren't the same class.

But I agree that "hate crime" laws are ridiculous. Most of the time insults are directed at the victim simply to demean them, they aren't much good for revealing motive.

So bumping into someone is a valid reason to be beaten by three people? This "civil rights attorney" seems to lack an understanding of civil rights and law.

"Knuckle justice"? Is this a real thing? Is assaulting somebody who called you names legal in America? I've never heard of such a thing before.

I think that his wording was poor, not his idea.

It certainly can be a hate crime, but it's certainly less likely. I don't think that the anti-gay-man sentiment is strong in the lesbian community or vice-versa.

Unless, maybe, it could be a hate-crime against men in general? That's certainly more likely.
