Why are men just expected to lead? It seems more of a burden than anything else.

I can understand that men needed to be in charge when physical strenghth determined our ability to survive, but surely this is no longer the case, in an age where the mind can earn a living almost entirely on it's own thanks to technology. Why should a man continue to be burdened with making the majority of life-altering decisions on both state and personal levels when a woman is just as capable?

It's also not fair that men are most likely to have to ensue the responsibilities of being the primary breadwinner in the household as well as the "protectorate" and emotional "rock". This is probably why some men are driven to drink, gamble, have affairs....etc....

It seems unfair that a man is forced to conform into an emotionally distant, tough person, even if it is against his nature.

If a man would prefer to stay at home with the kids because that's where his skills lie, then why not?
