Project started in august 2012 in russian analogue of facebook - vkontakte. Someone (no idea who behind this) created community called "Check_you". Idea was simple - checking if girl is slut or not.

Method:

  1. Find a girl who is not poor and have a boyfriend.
  2. Pm her "Hi, soon i will arrive in your city for some business. There will be a fancy dinner with my business partners and i will need an escort, so i pmed you, because i dont know anyone in this town and i like your profile picture"
  3. If she interested - offer decent amount of money and ask if she wanna have sex in fancy hotel afterwards.
  4. If she is still interested - ask for nude pics.
  5. Printscreen entire conversation, send it to her boyfriend and post it in community, so people could read it.
  6. Repeat.

Its a short version, sometime there were "i will buy you a nice dress day before event" or "what kind of phone you have? some bad nokia? i will buy you an iphone, those meetings should be classy, so my girl also should be classy" or things like that. Later they created few more approaches, but this one was most used.

In those conversations they dont give her any information about themselves. Only fake photos of random guy and fake name of fake firm. There is no real money involved at all. Those girls always sent naked pictures before they saw any money.

So, if those girls arent poor and they have a boyfriend, why they giving away nude pics and agree to have sex with someone they dont even know? They have a nice life and love but still looking for someone else? Even if those girls are like 5-6/10 and guy on the picture is at least 8 and also rich? Do they really believe in some sort of prince? Because the shit this guy is saying is so unbelievable. Do they really think they deserve something/someone better? Thats the questions i asked myself. I had no idea about TRP at the time and i was pretty much beta, so it was really harsh for me.

In a few months Check_you gathered few hundreds conversations with sluts and ruined some lives (imagine being famous because you are slut). Those girls were trying really hard to remove their screenshots and pics from the internet. One of the girls asked her mother and all her friends to act like she committed suicide and ask owners of Check_you to remove her photos. Check_you called bullshit, so they gave up. Other girl was actually 17 so it was illegal to post her nudes on the internet. Thats the point when Check_you became really famous. Few tv shows about it on main channels, with victims, crying parents and all that jazz, huge exposure all over the internet and press. Before that community had around 200k subscribers, after that - 500k++.

A lot of people couldnt believe in what they saw. There never was anything like that in Russia before. Nobody ever saw that type of behavior. Thats why Check_you became so popular in a short amount of time. Well, that and nudes.

Eventually, government shutdown Check_you. No charges were pressed, but community and all archives were removed from the internet.

Project was restarted few times recently, but it seems like its more about getting nudes than prove anything now.
