As one of the commenters touched on, for young guys competing with girls in a contact sport is a no win situation.

If she wins, you'll be mocked and harassed by your peers for being beaten by a girl. (In their age group this is a more serious issue than many females want to admit.)

If you win, but unconvincingly, you'll be mocked and teased for barely being able to beat a girl.

If you win, you'll receive no credit for your effort, in fact you'll be made to feel ashamed, because "you beat on a girl dude".

If she gets injured, you're a violent thug who hits girls. And if she's a sore loser, you'll get accused of being a creep that touched her inappropriately

It's completely unfair to tell little boys "you can't hit girls" for their entire life, then suddenly turn around and demand that they treat a girl just like a boy in a full contact sport. You can't turn off a lifetime of psychological programming in an instant.

I know this article is about high school sports, but what do you guys think of women who want to compete in professional men's sports?

I'm not really a fan of women competing in professional men's sports. By doing so they are taking away another man's spot in the team or in single player sports like tennis their chances of making the major tournaments, it's not fair that these women get extra chances such that if they fail to play up to standard in men's sports, they'll always have something to fall back on (they can go back to the women's leagues and become a star player)

On the other hand, men who are replaced by these women don't have such luxury, they are relegated to a lower spot in the team or lower ranking (and hence chance of getting into major competitions) to accommodate women in the men's leagues.

I would be fine with women competing in men sports if women sports allow men to participate too, but that will of course not happen because the top sportswomen will lose their livelihood.

Id have let them forfeit. Not a real win, but if they are just gonna pack up and go home might as well let them.

The young woman was very gracious in agreeing to sit out.

I wish that her coach had stood up for her and demanded the other team play the athletes on the field or go the fuck home. She must be bigger than half of the JV guys, fer crissake. The reluctance to tackle her is nothing but socialized bullshit, and I'm generally opposed to rules or customs persisting solely on that basis.

They refused to play the female because they are in an athletic conference where the rules prohibit girls on guys team and vice versa, it's a religious conference.

Personally, if what the article says is true, that girl should not have been denied the opportunity to play. She had 4 sacks in her last game, she's like the female Ndamkuh Suh. I think it's a joke to have a girl on a team just to play special teams or some other crap, but if she's a legit baller and 4 sacks in one game indicates that she is, there is no reason to deny letting her play. You can't really compare tackle football to wrestling as a lot of groping is always involved in wrestling, not true for football, you get incidental groping, but it's not really integral like it is in Wrestling. I mean in wrestling we have the ball and chain move, where you hold the guys arm through his crotch/legs so realistically you've got ur finger and hands on his asshole/balls the whole time trying to pull his other arm through.
