firstly, i am totally against the death penalty, so i am kind of happy that she avoided it.

but, that someone would commit this horrendous act to escape what would amount to a slap on the wrist is disgusting. (not absolving the woman of blame here, she is as guilty as hell, and has no one to blame but herself)

Why would a woman with a teardrop tattoo use a gang method of doing things to throw off investigators?

It was my thought that this tattoo had something to do with gang affiliation.

Now that I have read it...goddamn, that is one ugly bitch. The boy got raped by her and then she killed his kid...wow, wtf.

Asuncion Avila-Villa pleaded guilty to all four charges against her in connection with the murder of her five week old baby in 2009.

Police have said Asuncion Avila-Villa killed the infant, to keep them from finding out her son's father was just 14 years old.

Police said when they found the body of Israel Santos, he was malnourished and had several broken bones, abrasions and bruises.

The baby died of a crashed skull. Prosecutors called her burial of the infant's body in a garbage can as quote gang style.

They said she did it to try to throw off investigators.

Avila-Villa pleaded guilty to all charges... aggravated murder, gross abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

In court today, Avila-Villa apologized to her family and her other children.

As part of today's deal, the judge sentenced her to life in prison without the possibility of parole
