Perhaps it is too early to anticipate anything beyond the immediate horror faced by the people – all people – in Japan. But I’m already worried, in particular, about the survival and safety of women in the months and years to come.

While the women are doing the "primary caretaking" the men are the ones trying to prevent a nuclear meltdown. Not even one of the 200 "workers" inside the power plant happens to be a woman. But we shouldn't even notice that should we?
