I don't think so. The gambler's fallacy applies to small numbers. I.E. if a coin comes up heads ten times in a row, then the probability of it coming up tails is increased. I believe the point that davzig is trying to make is that the numbers here are so large that the probability of there not being other life out there is approaching zero.

So what you're saying is, when people tell us we should become feminists, it's kind of like religious folk going on about how not believing the same thing they do will result in unproven consequences. And like religion, more and more people are becoming wise to the whole....wait...you need faith to believe in feminism because there is no evidence that it actually benefits mankind!
