Okay I don't get this, so somebody please explain to me what I'm missing.

Women have long fought for rights in the workplace - they want more high corporate positions (currently about 1/10 of higher corporate positions belong to women) and pregnancy/childcare leave without damaging their current career (Many get pregnancy leave and the employer is not allowed to fire them). My question is this:

Why do women expect all these rights where it is clearly their choice to have a child in the first place?

And Don't go all religious on me and say that they may not believe in abortion. Clearly they have at least a right to abstinence so that argument doesn't apply. If you don't want to have your career damaged, don't have a child. How is that not a simple pay-off matrix? You either have a child or you have a career. I could argue that men don't have the anatomy to get pregnant - so we have even less rights than females. We don't even have the right to bear a child.

Feminists keep pushing for women's rights under the terms of 'equality' but that sounds like total bull to me. It's not equal because men can't have children - so they should be subject to the same terms as we are. If I went up to my employer and said 'Hi, I'm going to be away for 9+ months and I want full time pay and for you to support my decision to have a child' he'd kick me out on the street. So how is it fair that women get to do this? Just because they're women they deserve more rights than us? I don't see why a soon-to-be father can't say 'I need to look after my wife for 9+ months of pregnancy and post pregnancy, pay me full time for this'. Honestly, I just don't see the 'equality' that women are pushing for.

And on the note of higher corporate positions granted to women - I think there is equality there in that if women stand out in the workplace, they will be recognized just as men are. It is just that many women are discouraged to try due to the current state of the social dynamics regarding the issue. Feminists can lobby to change this misconception and annoy the fuck outta everyone, or women can MAN UP and go for it instead of staying in the house all day. My mother earns a 100k+ salary along with doing nearly all the chores in the house. I try to help sometimes but she never requests it. She works full time and has raised me well for 20 years while doing so. I don't hear her complain, ever. So I really don't see why feminists feel they have to push for the same 'rights' as men. We're genetically different - we'll never have the same rights. And if we did, they'd consider it 'unfair' because women have to deal with 'so much more'. Spare me.
