My son was born last Sunday night and my wife tried to keep me from being there or seeing him.

Back story: I've always been a player. I would go out with the intentions of getting laid and having meaningless sex. However that doesn't meant I can't be faithful to a woman. I've been in long relationships and when committed I am the most faithful man alive.

Her: We met last April at a festival and went out on a couple dates. I loved her from the minute I saw her and knew she would mother my children. (Told my friends that the night we met) A week later I was on a plane that almost went down in a storm and all I could think of was how horrible it would be to die without telling her how I felt. That night I did and she and I had sex for the first time. About 2 weeks later I found out she had given me herpes type 2. I was devastated nut at the same time I was okay with it as she said she loved me too and that we would be together always. I can't believe I fell for that shit. Turns out her biological clock was ticking (Shes 38 I'm 29) and she was looking for a younger stupid male to procreate with and use for a pay check. I was just the sucker. I travel for work and was flying her out of state to see me every couple weeks. 5 weeks after we met she got pregnant. I knew she had no health insurance and that her job did not offer it so I immediately married her and promised to always be there. A couple days later she was home and I found out that the "girlfriend" she had been spending the summer with was actually a guy. A guy she then claimed was a friend and later admitted she dated him for about 8 months prior to us meeting. I had 3 weeks left on my project and told her that I needed some time to clear my head and decide if I could trust her again. I continued to call her twice a day to make sure she knew I cared and would always be there for the baby. By the time I returned I had decided I wanted to be with her and she had decided that I was not worth her time. I spent the next few months begging her to work together for the sake of our child. She finally agreed to talk and when I showed up I was served with divorce papers. For the last few months of her pregnancy I tried my best to reach common ground. We finally found it (or so I'd thought) and she agreed that it was best for me to be there at the birth and that we should work together for his sake)

Him: Last Sunday she went into labor at around 5 am and went to the hospital. By noon her father and his wife showed up and found everyone in her family there. Except me. Her step mother started questioning everyone as to my whereabouts and eventually realized they were lying to her about them and took her phone to text me. I arrived 30 minutes later only to find out that I was not allowed to be there or receive any updates as to her condition. I spent the next 6 hours in the hospital lobby in tears scared to death about the health of my wife and my son. Her step mother went into her room and told her off during the labor saying that I should at least be able to cut the cord. At 8:37 I jumped from my chair ran past security and waited outside her door knowing that it was time. A second later the door opened and I was ushered in and got to cut the cord. Shortly after I was told to leave before I was arrested.

The next day I got to spend more time with him and she started to come around. Over the last four days everything was great. She's been allowing me over to her house to see him. We've been working together cooking, cleaning, changing diapers. I've been asking her if we could possibly reconcile or at least put the divorce on hold until we found out if she was okay at her 6 week check up. (the insurance and all) She said not to worry that she didn't care and wanted the divorce finalized asap.

Today: I called my attorney and said we were moving forward and to quit stalling on my behalf. She said okay and that she would send my paperwork over next week and that by the end of the month it would be finalized. When I got to her house to see my boy I told her the latest news. 30 minutes later She came in to the room and started screaming and crying (I was holding my sleeping child) saying that if I cared I would postpone the divorce (like I requested yesterday) to allow her to have insurance for the rest of the year. I told her that I would even though it meant I was just being used for insurance and that she didn't love me at all. She then went to nap and her mother stood in the doorway while I held my son for the next 3 hours because "men cannot be trusted with kids" she then called her brother and asked him to drive down to GA from NC to make sure I don't get out of line over the weekend. She said I was "blackmailing her daughter into staying married" and that I was bullying her. Once my wife woke up I told her what happened and her mother flipped out and tried to deny it. Even though I told her all the details and her mother was clearly lying she took her mothers side and told me to leave. I told her that our son deserves better than to have his grandmother disparage his father in front of him. I said I wanted to make sure that my son was living in a house where he would not be exposed to this behavior and she started yelling again and said it was "a dick move to threaten her with that" and said I should leave. As it stands I am no longer allowed at her mothers house where my child is and I don't know what to do.

TL;DR My wife is not allowing me to see my newborn because she lives with her mother who is very much insane (she said DRs change the sex of boys who have a botched circumcision and many other fucked up things) and because she "wishes I could just send a monthly check and let her raise the child" Help
