The file of an actual convicted rapist with the same last name and first initial was placed in his file by accident. It's an accident that took way too long to be fixed, but it is being corrected. Don't post inflammatory things like "women as victims claims another one" without thoroughly reading the article.

By the sound of it a jobs-body bureaucrat wasn't doing their job and got burned when there boss got a phone call from a local paper.

The Minister for Child Safety, Phil Reeves, isn't commenting on the case. His office says that it's an operational issue, and the acting director-general of the Department of Community Services, Betty Kill, is the best person to speak on it.

Ms Kill says it appears to have been a case of mistaken identity.
