theres lots of money to be made by the manufacturers of the hpv vaccines so they're trying hard to get reasons to vaccinate people. There is no evidence to support vaccinating men to prevent head and neck cancer ( yet ) to be honest, you couldnt look somebody in the eye and say you had any real proof.

far more important (and less popular with pharma) would be to stop smoking, which is hugely implicated in head and neck cancers.

There's a lot of conflating variables here.

*Men are at higher risk for HIV, which makes HPV and cancer in general worse

*Men smoke more. Smoking causes far more throat cancer than HPV

Also, the FDA only recently approved Gardisil for boys. Gardisil is expensive and actually costs way more to administer than treatment of the rare cancer HPV infections cause in men. To give you an idea, the cost savings is even controversial in women though the rate of disease incidence from infection is far higher. The UK health system almost didn't support Gardisil in women, let alone boys.

Side note: I was in the UK right after they approved Gardisil for regular vaccinations. The BBC aired a huge story about how the cost/benefit was super-low and how the drug company basically marketed directly to the public to put pressure on the UK government.

If it were me and my kids, I'd get them vaccinated. I'm just saying there's no cause for outrage here as the numbers aren't overwhelming.

I think the throat cancer might be related to HPV... but it could also be related to deep throating. Repeated stress to the throat tissue can cause damage after 1000 or more cocks.
