I just remembered a good story about how men are treated unfairly because of ultra-feminism. I call my self a feminist because I truly believe that sexism is wrong but I subscribe to the idea of changing the name to equalist. So when I actively try to make the genders equal in my day to day life I get quite frustrated when I find my self treated unequally by women. The story...

I work at a family camp in the summers and my job is "Naturalist". Mainly my job is to lead nature based activities like hiking or canoeing from 10-12 AM for the adults, while the kids are taken care of by the other staff. I also do out-of-program-time programs like night hikes, flower identification, dawn hikes, camp outs, ect ect..

I brought up the idea of having a mens hike. This would happen before program, before breakfast, and be completely volunteer based.

The female staff responded VERY poorly to this. Within five minutes my idea was completely shot down. They found it sexist!

I don't want to get into rant territory but I find myself pretty riled up about that. A few more details...

1)Every morning before breakfast there is a women's walk that is endorsed by a staff member's presence. 2)I offered to do a women's hike as well, but suggested that maybe one of the female staff members could lead it because I'm not a woman. 3)My attempts at compromise were met with irrational and illogical refusal.

Discuss.

TL;DR - Naturalist at summer family camp is bitter about getting shut down about a mens hike by irrational and illogical women.
