My mother owes my dad $28,000 in child support. The courts don't care. What can my dad do to collect it?

Nothing. My husband's ex owes him about the same amount. Been to court. Been through mediation. Bitch's license has been suspended so often it may have been revoked. Bitch spent the last 15 years playing the system like a game of Monopoly. Don't hold your breath waiting for that money. Sorry.

Your local county/ court should have a child support enforcement division. Their services are free. In most states a request for a payroll deduction can be put before the court. The CSED can also do a voluntary one if she will sign if not they can take her to court, her income tax return can he garnished .The courts are always easier on women. I worked in child support enforcement for 8 years . I never saw a woman sent to jail although a lot of them should have been .

Tell your mother that unless she makes good on the ORIGINAL support order, not as reduced by the sexist bastard judge, she will never hear from you again, that when you have children, she'll never see her grandchildren, ever.

good luck on getting any money at all...........been through this same shit and my ex pays nothing at all for support......she hardly even acknowledges her kid's existence

i don't care if i ever get 1 fuckin penny from her really........just wish she would set aside some money in an account for our kid's future.....something that is locked in and that none of us could touch then my kid could have it when he is older

unless the courts force your mom to pay or garnishee her wages you are probably screwed.........or she has a change of heart

Arizona is a notoriously father unfriendly state when it comes to family court. You need to involve the state services framework in order to get anything done. Begin with the Child Support Enforcement bureau of the Department of Economic Security:

You can also place a call with the Attorney General's Office, whose job it is to assist the DES with support enforcement.

He should not have to pursue this debt obligation personally...every state has child-support enforcement agencies, some of which are highly effective in tracking down and bleeding so-called "deadbeat dads."

Unless she has "gone ghost," they should be able to collect on your Father's behalf.

But let's consider fairly, here. We frequently complain about excessive child-support awards against men. Was the support order that she received a fair one? Did your Father in fact undertake substantial financial burden in raising you, without your Mother's contributions?

If so, make her pay. If not, forgive her and let her go.

Hell, maybe even if she's totally wrong, you may have to let go and forgive her debts. I hate to go squishy, but sometimes when a wrong has gone on long enough, there is no point pursuing it any longer.

I have a good friend in Illinois who had both of his teenage sons due to their mother just dropping them off one day when they were 13 and 12.
The youngest boy was 16 by the time my friend had proved that he didn't owe the four years of child support he'd been paying / paid.

the youngest was 18 by the time he'd won a judgment to make her pay child support. She owes $65k in back child support.

The courts won't even take her drivers license away because she's paying, get this $2 a month, towards the debt...

Dude, your dad can't push too hard .. he'll be looking at any number of charges.. In short, hes exhausted his options. Welcome to the world as US tax payer. Here cannot be the place to explain what that means. Maybe you can understand from here that you are on your own... educate yourself, empower yourself, make yourself independant of these systems and become a sovereign.
