So if the woman has to do all the work and this isn't because this is "her job" then if the husband doesn't have some other problem he has to deal with making it reasonable then they split up. Sounds pretty reasonable.

Seriously, Marriage is overrated, there's no sanctity to it anymore. Being boyfriend/girlfriend is best. If you have someone who pushes for marriage, you need to GTFO.

I read it and here's what the study says in a nice TLDR format:

If you marry someone wildly different than you with wildly different goals in life, it might not work out.

Thanks, social sciences, for researching what everyone knows already.

edit: To all my sorry-ass down-voters, you should respond and show me how my conclusion is wrong, it basically says that the only way a marriage works in a situation where the spouses come from different educational/religious/economic backgrounds is when one spouse is dependent on the other, whereas marriages where both spouses had a lot in common fare much better even when neither is wholly dependent on the other.

But i don't think the purpose of this thread is to actually understand the study - its just another "don't get married" thread.
