I feel like this has more to do with using any excuse to smear Bernie, and drive out the only socialist on the ballot, than it does with actual sexism against men.

This is part of a broader problem I have with pop-feminism that I've been trying to put into words.

There's a lot of narratives being built around inter-gender dynamics and, in every single one, the man is the villain and the woman is the victim.

There's mansplaining and manterrupting, there's the idea that husbands expect their wives to do all the housework... Once you can pattern match any aspect of a conflict between a man and a woman to one of these, no matter how loosely and how much context you need to ignore, you have a man victimising a woman.

This is ridiculously easy for women to weaponize. Most of the time, I don't think the women who do so even realise that's what they are doing. They just accept the narratives and assume that the situation they are in must be an example of that.

It means that a husband will lose every argument with his wife about the distribution of housework. He's the man. He must not be pulling his weight. He must have sexist assumptions about housework that inform his expectations. That's just what men do. Clearly he's in the wrong and has to do more of the chores. It doesn't matter what the reality really is for that couple. He's the man. He's wrong. You can see this play out in /r/AmITheAsshole. Almost identical posts about housework will get opposite responses depending on the genders of those involved because a woman feeling that her male partner doesn't do enough housework is patten-matched to the narrative that men feel entitled to make their female partners do all of the housework. Clearly she is not the asshole. A man feeling the same about their female partner is pattern-matched to the same narrative. Clearly he is the asshole.

It means a woman can interrupt a man and be seen as empowered then, if the same man interrupts her back, he's a misogynist. Manterrupting is a thing that all men do. There's no such thing as womanterrupting. She's committing no sin by interrupting him but he's revealing that he looks down on women by doing it back. The result is that women are allowed, even encouraged, to interrupt men while men are not allowed to do the same back.

In the first article Bernie Sanders was framed as sexist for defending himself from being woman-terrupted:

But she iterrupted him not the other way around, watch the video here !! and he is not even white, he is jewish !

But in the second a different story:
