Hey all, I know the general concensus is OLD is more trouble than it's worth, but I've come up with some guidelines that are huge time savers and keep us safe. These match interview processes at big firms. 😉

The profile The goal here is to not be traceable to your internet presence. - if you have a very unique name, consider using a generic, shortened nickname or entirely fake name. - for job description, list generic position @ industry, not the actual firm name - Do not link your insta

Texting stage - No lengthy text convos. If the guy isn't asking you out within a couple short exchanges, unmatch. You aren't there for pen pals. - if he isn't asking you questions to get to know you better, unmatch. Responses only about him are boring and low effort - any innuendo, winky face, or you feeling generally annoyed, unmatch. Don't explain yourself ever.

The phone interview - have a short (5-10mins) voice only screener after he asks you out. This quickly checks conversational compatibility and you will not want to go on most of the proposed dates after. - If the guy gets weirded about this, he will have an issue with boundaries. Voice and not video because you don't want to be stressing about capturing the perfect video angle and having great makeup for a dude you don't even know. - great opportunity to ask a question or two that are important to you and see what he wants to ask

The date planning - the guy should propose a decent plan, perhaps one aligned with any preferences you've expressed (specific cuisines etc) - it has to be in a highly public place. No restaurants in quiet neighborhoods late at night etc. Ideally the location is busy enough for your car to blend in, if you drive, or near busy public transport hubs - if he explicitly mentions wanting to choose a location that's convenient for both of you and it's not even that far of a drive, next him. Lazy 50/50 type with very high probability.

The date - Don't let him see your car or walk you back to it - Don't doll yourself up any more than you would for the rest of your day. OLD is for running numbers, and you do not want to burn time. ✌️
