When my ex and I broke up, I offered to keep the cat while he stayed with his mom until he moved into his own place. This was mostly a favour for the cat because she has high anxiety and I want to minimize freaking her out. This week, my friend will be driving me to my ex's house to deliver the cat. I am wondering how I should act during this?

- I requested that I deliver the cat to him (instead of him picking the cat up) because I don't want my ex to enter my place anymore and see how I'm living, make comments on my re-decorating, or decide how long he stays.

- I'm going to have to enter his place to drop off the cat. I am conflicted between wanting to leave ASAP to avoid him trying to make friendly conversation, but also making sure that the cat is doing ok.

- The friend that is driving me is mostly my friend, but also friends with my ex because they worked together for a few months. Maybe I should ask my mom to drive me so that there is less of a "friends" atmosphere and more "professional transaction" atmosphere. Thoughts?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you
