Lawyers for woman convicted over Cyprus rape claim ‘happy’ after appeal hearing

Just a quick tldr.

This woman lied about being raped by 12 men. ~~Some of whom were not even in the same town as her at the time. yet they still had their lives ruined.~~ She admitted lying, and now expects to be let off without charge. Feminists support her.

I have tried to find the evidense to support my claim that "some of the men were not in the same town" without success.

In no way can I find any material to support this claim. I therefore retract my statement and freely admit i may have been mistaken.

There certainly seems to be confusion suround both sides. It appers that the woman, and some of the men engaged in sex. However this appears to be consensual from a leaked video. there is also concern howver, about the 35 bruises on her legs, arms and buttocks.

This is definately not a clear cut case. I have read as much as I can from many sources including feminst websites, to male advocacy websites. From what i can make out, the sex was was consensual (at least between the 3 men who admit to being involved), and the lady has made a false allegation of rape.

I do want to mention, that i sincerely hope the lady in question was not raped, and that hopefuly we will have a free and fair trial where all the evidence is provided. The statement she gave was clearly given under durress.

What a load of crap. Claiming that she is a helpless teenager when she is an adult ! This case will be ruled in her favour due to media pressure.

There is literally videos of the night. Pictures next morning where she is smiling and taking selfies ! She got was into a gang bang ! She did it and recorded it then regretted it is the most likely scenario. I want the evidence to be made public. Make the video public or else if this case is overturned it's BS!

I just love how the women are almost never named, nor can we ever see her face. But as soon as a man Is arrested for a crime he is immediately named and the picture of him is shown even if the trial didn't occur.

So I'm pretty against false accusations here, but I'm going to point this out:

The woman’s lawyers said the retraction statement, which formed the basis of the prosecution case, should never have been admitted into evidence because it was made by a vulnerable teenager who had spent almost seven hours in a police station without a lawyer

What the flying fuck, police? You question a teenager for 7 hours without a lawyer? You could get any teenager to say anything while questioning them 7 hours straight. That's straight bullshit.

From a rights perspective, no teen should be questioned without a lawyer present.

If she is lying, having her lawyer there would solidify the state's case against her and if she isn't, shouldn't be pushed into signing a false confession. And there wouldn't be room for appeals.

That is stupid on the police's side.

Interesting that "justice abroad" are paying for the legal costs and are playing the "believe all women card"

I believe Israel has laws about such behaviours( the men that is) that would have been applied to them( regardless of who their families were)

Her case was lowered? Wouldn't it be easier to have a law that says everyone must be equal under the law to avoid giving people taps on the wrists for crimes because of them being things they can't control like skin tone,race,GENDER,disabilities and other factors but see them as humans?

There was video clip of her gong up and down on one of the guys. There was even testimony that she had made false accusation for financial reward. Here is something to start deeper research on this "matter"

It doesn't mean she isn't guilty, she got herself a high powered barrister thanks to massive backing to overturn her verdict, not a single piece of independent analysis backed her.

Man or woman, if you report a rape and then decide later you don't want to press charges, you will go to jail.

So no matter how real the rape is, don't report it right away. Make sure you really want to go through with the long and difficult process of reporting a rape before you go to the police. If you don't want to go through with it, just don't report it and let the rapist be. Because reporting it and then retracting it could land you in jail.
