The police who responded to the scene of the Gabby Petito DV disturbance found that Gabby had committed assault. They were obligated to arrest her as they would have arrested any Man in the same situation, regardless of circumstances. But they did not. This would've saved her life as she would be in prison instead of murdered. It would've given necessary pause and time to reflect on a dangerous, violent relationship.

As many Feminists have pointed out the attitude of the responding officers (one in particular), was sexist. While many have pointed out that this meant they dismissed her as 'crazy', that also meant that they dismissed her as 'harmless and innocent'. When we waste millions on 'education and training' for police with failed programs like VAWA, this training reinforces the idea that women are always innocent. It reinforces the very sexism that enables dismissal of 'crazy female behavior' as 'harmless'. A woman being violent and acting erratically IS a danger sign for future violence FOR both Men and Women in heterosexual relationships, but sexist Conservatives and Feminists in control of DV policy won't acknowledge this. Not doing this is costing lives.

It also belies any danger as long as the male isn't himself violent. As Erin Pizzey pointed out, most women in DV relationships are there consensually and they not only participate they often lead. It's dangerous to do this, but as I said above Feminists have rejected educating anyone on this subject because it holds women responsible for their own safety. Researchers have discovered, across multiple studies, that female initiation of violence predicts the worst injuries. But thanks to Feminists and Conservatives reinforcing their beneficial sexism models, we will not teach women not to hit their boyfriends. If we could convince women not to hit their boyfriends it would reduce domestic violence more than any other factor.

Here's another issue that would've saved her. Because Gabby was the aggressor she was denied access to shelter services. This can also be seen in the same police footage.

However, violence is not the same thing as coercive control, violence does not indicate the principle source of IPV in a relationship, and many victims have lashed out either in self-defense or in extreme frustration with emotional abuse. Feminists know this but as I linked above, in order to control the DV industry Feminists willingly enabled law enforcement to take over the DV industry and they actively worked to ensure carceral attitudes would infect the entire subject. Men are denied access to shelters and DV abuse support and women are denied treatment as abusers because the DV industry refuses to acknowledge that's what most women in DV situations are.

This lead to a series of decisions that kicks real victims out of receiving support. This is a huge issue for Men that Gabby shared. If she was allowed to be a violent victim and receive services treating her as an abuser she would still be alive.

Feminists instead are predictably pushing to say that any man, in any dispute of any kind with a woman should be immediately arrested and interrogated. False Accusations should be embraced. To save one white woman we now have to submit to gender fascism. They reach this far because their ideas failed and don't work, and so in order to fix them they stupidly think 'well we didn't go far enough!'. No, it's because Men's Rights is missing from the DV industry and along with it all of the research that shows how to actually handle DV situations and deescalate violence.

So instead of doing the things that will save a life, they will subject countless innocents to using the state as a proxy weapon of DV and feminist revenge.

More responsible Feminists have suggested to stop relying on the Police and to use DV social workers trained in DV to respond to these situations. This is a good idea that the DV industry would probably ruin with feminist interpretation, but still more productive than locking up everyone with a penis. Even better would be having DV specialists who are allowed to learn and espouse the post-feminist DV research, to understand that women are violent and consensually involved in situations they will not walk away from, and to finally learn that searching for a 'perfect victim' is not the way to fixing the problem, and that both Men and Women who have lashed out with violence and found it hard to cope with conflict without escalating it should still be able to receive help without condemnation.
