that dot matter they will still suffer the consequences of the allegations made even if the ruling is overturned we need to have prison sentences for false rape accusations.

[–]PeonSupreme[S] 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Prison would be a good start. I think men also need to ask themselves whether the company of women is worth the risk, when any one of them could falsely accuse you of a wide range of crimes and get away with it.

[–]carceral_doughnut 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If it’s proven that they deliberately lied, then you can press charges - at least in many countries.

Most courts are stacked against men.

Here in Brazil a guy was brutally killed because of a false rape allegation. There's nothing I fear more than that.

[–]Man_of_culture_112 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, it not the the legal consequences that are the most terrifying, it's the social consequences.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"the REAL victims are of course the secondary affected real victims who won't be believed as easily" no the primary victims here are still the falsley accused. If I hear that shit one more time.

Due to propaganda many people around the world have wrong image of this nation in mind while true cases are very low compared with false cases.

[–]PigTenis 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

40% ?

Oh nono - For 40% there was evidence that it was false, for 80% there was not enough evidence to say it was true. True figure is somewhere between 40% and 80%.

According to the data, the conviction rate in cases where the court trials proceeded was less than 2 incidents out of every 10.

[–]MisterHorus 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yep, I was falsely accused, had to do hours of community service, got booked and everything, only for them to say "oh nevermind we made a mistake :P" (still the accuser received no penalties)

is this article talking about cases that were thrown out/withdrawn/etc… or ones proven false? very different things and i can’t tell what they’re trying to say

[–]lIlIIIOK 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (118 children) | Copy Link

It clearly says that the cases were proven to be false.

[–]Alternative_Swan4969 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it does say that but many people don’t understand the difference, and it doesn’t elaborate

[–]09Klr650 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (110 children) | Copy Link

I see "declared false" and "found false" in that link. Not quite the same as "proven false". I would take ANY "data" from India regarding their rape situation with a grain of salt.

90% false? Doubt it. But you believe what you choose (or culture tells you) to believe.

Great. Give us more "facts and stats" to back up your 90% claim. Although we all know that culture does affect stats because it affects the presumptions of the people gathering the information.

So you got from 52%, to 90% . . . how? And declared "false" . . . by who? The courts and police that have already been shown to have a bias?

"Common sense". In other words no evidence other than what your CULTURE and EMOTIONS tell you is "the truth".

Do you have any reputable studies for your 90% statement? Although your post history shows you have little facts, lots of emotional baggage on this subject.

[–]carceral_doughnut 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I can’t find that. Maybe it was changed. Now it says “declared false”.

Found an older case that looked similar from BBC that states "It classes as "false" all reports of rape that were dropped before they reached court, without analysing the reasons why.”

Maybe this is different, but it was hard to tell from the article, so this sounds dubious to me.

Bullshit.

EDIT: If it isn't bullshit, source it, but we all know it is bullshit because there has never been an instance of all dropped cases being classed as false accusations in any research, ever.

[–]carceral_doughnut 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well, it’s not BS that this was a quote from an older BBC article, if that is what you meant: https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38796457

[–]carceral_doughnut 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ok, so this showed up for a search on “haryana rape false”, but I see now that Haryana is not mentioned in the article, so it might not be relevant.

[–]carceral_doughnut 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

However, it seems to be the same type of report since the original article writes “ In several cases, including those of elopement and marriage-related disputes, rape is alleged initially, but the charges are dropped later due to lack of evidence.”

[–]Man_of_culture_112 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

why should you have to prove it to be false?

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Only 20% were convicted... 80% were acquitted...

Proven false cases account for 40%, that is about half of all acquitted cases. And twice as much as confirmed convicted cases..

This gives you a perspective of false cases...

Half of all acquitted cases, and twice as much as true convicted cases pretty much fits the bill in real life scenario.
That's a far cry from 2% what feminists brag about.

Considering that conviction rates are 5-10% rates for rape, that number of false cases would be anywhere between 15-25% of all rape cases.

[–]Aggravating-Try1201 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Just here to call bullshit. Please review the number of rapes that have been ignored or “no crimed” because police decided it was too hard to prosecute or that they were targeted on certain outcomes. The statistics quoted above are utter horse shit and you should educate yourselves before declaring that these statistics are realistic.

Often women who have reported rape and the report is closed in this way aren’t even told that the crime has been categorised in this way. If they were, many of them would challenge this.

I have personal experience of my rape being “no crimed” as if there was evidence it didn’t happen. There was none. There was compelling evidence that it had happened and I have since made a complaint.

Please think it through before spouting it idiotic bullshit on the internet.
