I already knew that the majority of the double standards listed were going to be how men (espicially fathers) are treated like absolute trash, but it didn't make reading through it all all easier.

It isn't bad enough to treat a parent like they should be greatful that they're allowed to do things they're given permission to do for the mothers child to the point that a father out with their kid breads fucking concern from onlookers. It isn't bad enough to treat someone like they're just some barely sapient, volatile, fucking sex crazed beast that's shaking and drooling from the constant effort to not rape their own child or everyone else around them. And it STILL isn't bad enough that these same people aren't allowed to be upset about this treatment or GOD FORBID speak out against it for fear of being labeled an incel woman hating weakling that reeks of abuse and shouldn't be trusted with their own kid..

No. On top of any and all of their feelings being belittled, invalidated or flat out twisted into it being THEM that's being somehow wrong, being told something like, "yeah well WOMEN have THIS more wrong" or even just being gas light, men are expected to apologize for being treated this way. Because they're privileged, and how society is exclusively unfair to women or mothers in favor of men being treated like kings.. So, alongside this mindset, of course any man or who complains about how they're being treated is a privileged spoiled sexist who clearly doesn't care about women and is probably a rapist anyways.

History was cruel to women. The way the world works, it seems almost like it's certain groups of people who take turns being the target of blind, socially sanctioned hatred. Whether it's born of just bigotry, misalignment of belief or some sense of ancestral revenge.. whether it's people of color, different sexual orientations, nationalities, identities, sex's, religion etc.. there are long, disgusting periods of time where it's socially acceptable to openly hate, sometimes even physically hurt a certain group of person. Then, progressively and over time, more and more people start to think, "hey.. this person may be black, or a woman, or a Muslim or gay.. but they're a human being and what's going on is fucking disgusting" until it the public hatred stops being celebrated and joined in on and starts being rightfully condemned.

You know who hasn't been the target of this kind of bigoted hatred before? Who historically has had the power and now shoulders the anger of preferential treatment? Men. It's men's turn to be treated with open hatred, and it has been for nearly a few decades now. We're still in the stages of it getting worse before it gets better, where hating and publicly speaking about how men are trash is celebrated, even the killallmen bit was cheered for.

But unlike most other targeted hated groups, this is born of a desire for revenge. Men who have done nothing of the things of the past that earned such ire or on the hangmans platform. What is the same though is that ones that have done nothing wrong to anyone aside from being born they way they were are being punished.. but the level of fucking gaslighting is absolutely insane..

Everyone has problems.. and one persons problems do not and should never invalidate anothers. And right now, a good visual for what's going on is one person punches another in the face in front of a hundred people. The person hit says, "that really hurt, why did you hit me?" The one who punched them says, "what? I never hit you! And even if i did, which I didn't, it wouldn't of actually hurt you. Do you have any idea how many people like me are hit by people like you? If anything, you should apologize to me". Everyone who watched agrees with the puncher. Punched person says, "You're lieing! I didn't do anything to you! you hurt me, I will not apologize, you need to". The puncher says, "WOW, see? You don't care at all that your kind hits my kind, you're not sorry at all and you're all but supporting it. And calling me a liar? Your kind is always putting my kind down, you just hate everyone like me! You're truly disgusting. Everyone, are we okay with this?" And then everyone watching agrees again and beats the original victim together.

This isn't going to solve anything, and the only thing it will accomplish is creating more resentment between people.. Saying that all men have all the power while all women have none, or acting like what I just wrote this bookish post about isn't going on is disingenuous at best, and intentionally being malicious/spreading hate because of sexist bias at worst.. Every human being on this planet is fucking equal. No one is born better than another for any reason, full fucking stop.. And if we don't all start recognizing how disgusting we're treating each other, this will only continue to get worse.
