I will play devil's advocate on this one.

Feminists are correct on this one point. Yes, women DO have to conform to a variety of social expectations. That is what is required to participate in that society.

The problem is when they think that they are the ONLY ones who must conform. Men, gays, blacks, immigrants and just about everyone else must ALSO go to school, pay taxes, wear clothes at work, get a life, etc.

To claim that this is all patriarchal is fucking ignorant beyond words. More importantly, it is completely misogynistic to completely dismiss the role women have played in shaping our culture and the rest of the world around us - not to mention the historical overwhelming effect of mother hood on almost every human being on the planet. Ever.

As soon as they mention Dworkin, you know you have someone who desires the extinction of humanity. Dworkin believed that all heterosexual sex was rape, and therefore advocated only lesbian relationships. But with no men and no heterosexual sex, the species goes extinct. Reminds me of vegans who think they’re advocating to save farm animals but don’t understand that their beliefs actually lead to the extinction of livestock; because if there is no market for meat, then meat animals will not be raised, and those livestock will go extinct.

Feminism isn’t hating men. There is no monolithic group that embodies all of feminism.

Most feminists are reasonable people and that don’t shit on men endlessly, such as myself.

I understand how anyone would not want to be a part of hateful talk. It is a fact that over the last 30-40 years pointing out and discussing sexist behaviour have resulted in many improvements in laws and society in general in the west, and of course improvements in women's lives such as in the workplace, education, in the home.
