Over the past few days I've seen a couple of posts about baldness and the fear that goes with realising you're going bald.

As someone who's experienced this reality, and that fear I hope this will help others.

I remember being in my barbershop in my early 20s. The barber who'd been cutting my hair for over a year told me I was losing my hair.

I was mortified and in denial. He sold me some "special" shampoo to slow it down. I did everything I could to stop the balding.

Fast forward to my early 30s. I was still trying to hide it and I ended up spending a small fortune on a product called Regain. It worked. My missing hair grew back. I kept applying Regain until it ran out. Didn't want to spend more money on Regain so I stopped using it. A couple of weeks later all my new hair was on my pillow when I got up. It had fallen out.

I couldn't pretend I wasn't going bald, couldn't hide it either.

From that point on I've been shaving my head. I also grew a beard like Russell Crowe had in the film Gladiator.

Result: More women than before, no more worrying about going bald and no more wasting money on shampoo or other "remedies".

Embrace it, shave it, beard up and don't look back.
