College student (20 yrs old), going towards a beta filled industry. (Comp Sci, Information Technology/ Information Security) work. You'll be lucky to see a '6' in the department/ 90% are men who have trouble holding a conversation. Most of these guys are outcasts who spend the majority of their time browsing 4chan forums for free porn access and celebrity nude leaks.

From that population, there are a few guys who do have the push towards the industry, and have the right mentality on moving towards the top/ know their way around the industry / the right people, yet still have the beta mentality with women. Look down upon guys who spend time getting fit and healthy. I was laughed at for trying to go Redpill and my attempts at picking up women. Even though I'm always the one who gets approached by women when I'm out with them/ and I can sense the jealousy.

I was legitimately told by an IT Network Administrator "If you want to fit in in this industry, you need to start getting fat."

How would you guys deal with this? These guys know their way around the industry, they are great sources of information, yet aren't the type of people to be hanging around when speaking of self improvement.

Should I simply separate my social life from my professional life? Keep them as 'professional' contacts, then try to make some 'alpha' friends while going out to the gym?
