allow me to correct this

a lot of fathers have to walk out of their marriage to protect themselves from their violent ex and know that they will be accused of abandoning their kids, even though there are little to no shelters for them( even with kids).

when a mother does this society rewards her( even if she makes false DV allegation to create de facto custody).

when a father does he is punished by society who would rather he stayed until he is killed and then the feminists will portray the mother as a victim of patriarchy. never mind the child who is left without one parent( the father) and forced to live with her fathers murderer and continued abuse.

They always think it's the men leaving while most of the time it's the women breaking up with the man and replacing them, even though they have kids together.

My ex dumped me when she was pregnant. 5 years together and immediately had another guy. I still dont understand how you can hop from relation to relation without a decent time being single between it? I guess it's a girl thing.

My brother has had a pattern of meeting women, moving in with them, then "losing" his job so he can live off of them. About ten years ago he repeated the same pattern but this woman had 2 sons so he was a stay at home "Dad" for 3 years. He flew back to our home state to visit for xmas, met an ex from H.S. that he hadn't seen in 20 years, moved in with her and never went back. He left that poor woman and her kids with no explanation whatsoever so when I flew back I was left to try and explain to her what a self-centered piece of shit he is.

He's now married to the woman he left the other one for and they have a kid. He's once again a stay at home Dad (that is, imo, a valid job) but hates his wife and his life but can't leave. His wife makes all the income and owns the house they live in so he knows he would lose his daughter if he left plus he's over 40 now and it's too hard to trick anyone into letting him play video games all day while they work. Karma's a bitch but I got a beautiful niece out of it.

Sorry for rambling a bit but OP's post just reminded me of all this.

Same comment saying society deems it okay also shows why its not okay by the kids most likely resenting the parent that's not there (due to things they don't understand/ won't until later and that resentment has already built up.)

Who tf cares about what "society" deems is okay? Live your life how you want. Only opinions that should matter are those close to you and I'd say most people with kids heavily value their opinion of them.

Whilst people think the men are happy being apart from their kids, there are some dads that hate it they can’t be with their kids everyday and if they tried to get custody the mother would fight it out of spite. The grass certainly isn’t greener in my eyes.

I swear if I have a kid with a woman I think it is my responsibility to stick with her for the sake of the child if the woman think it’s ok for a man to walk out of that responsibility than she must be loose as a goose… also that child will end up without a proper role model and will lead down a harsher environment to grow up in because they will have a lack of proper guidance. It’s almost like as if you were born from a parent who’s a stripper and refuses to get their act together for the sake of you the child so you won’t end up in a dangerous environment…
