Avoid, where you can, minimize the impact where you cannot.

Ex. I have a buddy who has a great big heart. Unfortunately, it does not appear that this great big heart pumps any blood to his brain. And he always wants to help. So if we're having a cookout, I have him bring the hot dog buns, not the hot dogs. Why? Because if he fucks up, you can eat the hot dogs without the buns, but not the other way round. Simples.

I don't deal with them. I just acknowledge that these morons are the reason why people like Hillary Clinton will manage to win the presidency... inept, clueless, oblivious, absent-minded morons that have no idea how the world works and consume everything CNN feeds them.

I do feel sorry for them though.

You do not sound so intelligent if you still ask for help with this condition "if you offer help than you are all in" like WTF... maybe those people actually don't feel good all the time. Just ask for help for certain small parts. And then for the next small part and so on.... this is what rational people do.

If you are doing more work than you need to do, talk to your managers. That's what they're there for. You don't have to try to wreck someone, or come at it emotionally. Explain logically, with details, why you feel like you're doing more than you should be.

I dunno. Are they idiots or did they just realize that in the corporate work world - staying up 'til midnight to finish something up will likely result in ZERO BENEFIT ACCRUING TO THE PERSON WHO DID IT? In fact, the most likely result is that it will now be a routinely expected part of the job.

I agree if you make a commitment you should honor it but perhaps the meaning of commitment was never assumed to be working ridiculous hours, something that should have perhaps been clarified from the start.

Working corporate jobs for 30 years will certainly change your perspective on who is the idiot.
