After the end of my 17 year marriage, I have been on an uphill battle fighting depression and thoughts of self-harm. Fortunately, I have things worth fighting for that alongside my therapist and this group have given me a life line through this ongoing storm.

I have struggled to communicate what this feels like as a man till I watched the newest season of Stranger Things. I do not want to give away the plot but would like to recommend it if you are processing these emotions. The main villain is a metaphor for suicide and the grasp of depression, loss, and trauma.

There’s a scene worth winning every award imaginable (Max’s) because it captures the fight to live for what matters to us most. That’s it. Stay blessed, love each and everyone of y’all. We will get through this toughest of life moments because we are stronger than we could ever imagine.
