Damn straight. But it's easy to get away with everything if you constantly see yourself as the victim. And then you just jumble up all the reasons under 2 words - male patriarchy - or whatever...
[–]Yoursparkinthedark 72 points73 points74 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sad part it's not because they are male. They are the status quo. I'm a man and I have zero power.
I'm referring to the male patriarchy theory.

i don't like women that had plastic surgery, i think that natural is always better, but i respect their life decisions, i despise the fashion indutry and hollywood that teaches young girls that if they dont look like gal gadot they are not worth.
[–]Thoarxius 69 points70 points71 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I agree, but I'd say the exception being plastic surgery after medical trauma. Like a mastectomy, or (house)fire survivors. Loads of examples like that where 'plastic' surgery is crucial for mental recovery after trauma. And imo, those should be covered under health care.
[–][deleted] 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Plastic surgery was originally for patient recovery of those who had suffered massive scarring tissue.
This was and is still known as reconstructive surgery.
The first reconstructive surgery to be recorded was in an Egyptian medical text around 1600 BCE for a reconstructed nose.

Eh... women and girls get plenty of affirmation. Most of it just for existing.
What we teach men about where their worth comes from is so much more awful. And boys and men have no campaign combating it. It's just affirmed everywhere he looks. Every man I know tells completely average women they are beautiful the way they are, so it's really only coming from Hollywood and some other women. Men have women telling them they are only worth however well they fulfill their social role of creating and giving to women.
[–]-MimiMasquerade- 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is valid, men have it shitry growing up too! Just please consider that BOTH genders can have it shitty in different ways. As people its always easier to recognize our own struggles than those of others. Men AND women treat eachother like shit from birth till death. The things drilled into my head as a women from the instance i was born would make you shiver, and im sure the same goes for what you grew up with. Lets not invalidate other struggles! We have all been fucked up by our fucked up world :)!

i bet your internet history would say otherwise. fashion industry and hollywood nonsense can get fucked but a hot ass girl who puts her appearance first will get whatever she wants on this planet and thats just the way it is. "natural is always better" is utter nonsense and i can tell you that even as a male who's had essentially a cosmetic surgery (jaw surgery + braces).

Women call me short on occasion. I'm Asian living in an Asian country and I'm average height. Like, my ancestors ate rice to fill their stomachs, they didn't have the most nutritional diet. I can't exactly inject something in my spine to grow a couple inches either.

Common double standards that women hold toward men:
(1) He should be taller than 6', but he can't have any preference toward her weight (fat shaming)
(2) A man should pay for things, but also treat her as an equal.
(3) A man should do all of the dirty work / labor, but also do an "equal share" of the housework / family responsibilities
(4) A man shouldn't express his feelings or he is perceived as weak, but she is encouraged to express her feelings / emotions and is perceived as strong for doing so.
[–]Correct-Reference-98 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I need to know what women you're looking at. Sounds like a little girl to me. My husband is 5'6, I do the dirty work(spiders are a big fat Nope to him) while he likes to clean the house, he cries more than I do(My lack of tears is trauma related), and I make more than him, so I pay more than him. I'm also twice if not more of his weight, and he doesnt like thin women at all.
Should we talk about men's issues too? Since we want to be equal here.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This concept doesn’t make sense to me, it’s not really double standards if you’re not even talking about the same thing. He’s talking about women wearing things that enhance their appearance, not their personality. Men/people in general being called real/fake is often regarding their personality, not their body. A woman could wear fake nails, lashes, have plastic surgery, but be ‘real’ personality wise. So can a man. If what he means is that women with plastic surgery want a man with no plastic surgery, then he is correct. But if he is referring to the fact that most women want a man who is a decent person, then he is wrong. Wanting your partner to be a good person is normal, no? Anyways, excuse my ranting, but if you have a problem with it then kindly air your grievances to your own ass, because I am sure even it cares more than I do.

The downvotes with no comments on your reply prove what you said even further. I joined this subreddit for funny shit about actual double standards, not this incel dogshit.
Yes, there are many cases where women get the upper hand socially and it’s fucked up. The Johnny Depp situation for example. However this is not an excuse to be sexist because there are some women who have an inflated sense of self worth.
As displayed by this post and it’s comments, a lot of men have this exact same issue with inflated egos.
[–]-MimiMasquerade- 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah same lol. Why is the majority of it just like "woman did a bad >:(" when its TOTALLY unrelated to gender or sexuallity in any way? Its still fun to come here and give a womans perspective and try to be somewhat educational... But gee... Some of these guys need a wakeup call :(.
[–]LizzyLeonhart 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
EXACTLYY. Half the posts on here as of recently are exactly that. Like I’m getting close to just unsubscribing to this subreddit because it’s almost gotten to the point where it’s just pure incel content and not ACTUAL equality or “pussy pass denied” moments.

When you wholeheartedly defended someone who called every user on here "incel" simply for pointing out the hypocrisy.
Can you actually show examples of what you are talking about? If no, you are in no way better
[–]NatsuZeGeek 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I don’t really need to provide examples because i’m pointing out the general state of this subreddit and the examples are in the comments.
EDIT: I should really just say “want” rather than “need” cause i don’t have the time to provide examples.
My main issue with this post, is the massive overgeneralization of women. Saying that they generally wear fake lashes, get botox injections etcetera. This is just entirely untrue. Second off, stating that all of them request a “real man” has no logical backing.
At the end of the day, people worth loving will love you for you, so many people in the world are willing to date anyone, regardless of looks and stuff. It’s just completely backwards to blame an entire gender for being unlucky in the dating world.
[–]Aaricane -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I don’t really need to provide examples because i’m pointing out the general state of this subreddit

I’ll keep it simple then.
This isn’t worth my time and i’m not gonna continue arguing with someone unwilling to hear me out. At least respond to what I said without mocking me
Maybe it was wrong of me to call you all incels, i’ll admit it. That was a generalization on my part and unnecessarily inflammatory on my part. However I still think it’s not okay to insult and overgeneralize all women as a whole.
[–]Aaricane -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The time it took you to write all these comments could have been spent to provide me with the examples.

I love my gfs natural body. Her face is beautiful and doesn’t need makeup or anything else to make it look better. She puts on mascara sometimes but you barely even notice. [–]GlutonForPUNishment 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I saw a post the other day about a woman claiming men are too scared to wear makeup to "Express their real selves" and I'm like "wouldn't going everyday of your life without putting on a literal mask be more real than the shit you do?"

[–]Tayaradga 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Its a double standard because typically when referring to what a "real man" is they're referring to muscle, income, and other bs like that. So to want a man with real muscles and a real income while having a fake body themselves is just hypocritical.
Dont get me wrong, i fully believe that personality is the only thing someone should look at when deciding a partner (im Demisexual so thats the only way i get sexual interest in someone.) However, in general that is not how society operates, unfortunately enough. So i would say that this is most definitely a pussypassdenied as women are typically allowed to reject someone based off of their body or some other random thing, whereas men are generally dehumanized when they reject someone because of their body or some other random thing. Getting the all to familiar saying "a real man doesn't care about a woman's body!!". Well if thats the case a real woman shouldnt care about a man's body, but ya never hear that one; or at least I've never heard anyone say that.
[–]Versaiteis 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So to want a man with real muscles and a real income while having a fake body themselves is just hypocritical.
I dunno, they're not really dating themselves though. Like I wouldn't begrudge a dude that likes to cultivate mass (whether it's fat or being jacked) just because he has a preference for small women.
TBH I don't even care if people really are looking for super shallow relationships. As long as they're honest, clear, and respectful about it I don't really see a problem.
[–]Tayaradga 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is a good point
[–]LizzyLeonhart 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Agreed if that’s what they meant- usually when I think about what a “real man” is I think about someone who supports you, treats you kindly, doesn’t cheat, and is loving. So at least the bare minimum.
Both men and women are for sure allowed to deny either gender on their looks or body. I don’t think doing so makes you less of a real man or woman.
The reason I say this isn’t pussy pass denied is because of the fact that he was putting down women for getting plastic surgery or having their hair/nails/lashes done and a woman understandably said that those women don’t want him anyways. Which people started making their own stories and assumptions on.
[–]Tayaradga 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That i can definitely agree to. Men do need to realize that a woman can reject them for any reason, but they have the right to reject any woman for any reason as well. Belittling other's for their choices is rather childish as well. Who knows, maybe the person was insecure with their looks before hand and plastic surgery gave them the self confidence they needed to go about life, or maybe they were in a fire. Whatever the reason we as humans have no right to judge what someone does with their body (abortion included). We can say that we personally don't like it but we shouldn't call them "fake" because of it or belittle them in any way, shape, or form.
[–]Randomcat32 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I disagree. I see far too many people, mainly from Asian countries, that say " getting plastic surgery is just as normal and healthy as going to the gym to lose weight" that's bull shit. Its cheating, more so when you see some of these famous people, men included, they where ugly as hell (Gollum level) now their super rich and have millions of follower's on Instagram? That jut shows how shallow people are. More so when said people attack others for not looking good, if you cheated you have zero right to attack others how they look.
You might not want to have included the abortions part, a man should have a say in the abortion as well. Its not right if she wants to abort it and he wants to keep it. Also not right if she wants to keep it and he doesn't. Tax payers shouldn't have to take up the slake for her "mistake" either. Her body, her choice, then her sole responsibility . I have a right to judge others on their bodies, if they make themselves fat and over burden the healthcare system even more and if they keep making babies to help over populate the earth even faster and eat up resources even quicker.
[–]Tayaradga 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Honestly people that get plastic surgery because they were ugly have no right to attack others for being ugly. They should know what thats like and they just want others to feel that same pain, it's messed up. But that's not everyone, it is some of them just not all of them. I highly doubt it's even the majority of them really, like i said they've been through that same pain. An honest and kind person would not wish for others to go through something just because they did.
I included the abortion bit meaning anyone, man or woman, has the right to judge what anyone does with THEIR OWN BODY, including abortion. If the man wants the kid but the woman doesn't what are you going to do, force her into conceiving? First off that's just messed up. Like that is her body and you're going to force her to use it to create another living being? Yea thats messed up. Second off the stress of that would horribly impact the child and would severely increase the risk of the child coming out with a disorder or even dying in the process anyway, putting the mother's life at risk as well.... If a man wants a child and he doesn't have a willing partner then he can adopt. There are plenty of children in foster homes just wishing and praying to be adopted everyday. Just because it's not your own "flesh and blood" doesn't mean you can't treat them as such.
But all that aside, you do have a point. You do have the right to judge someone for their choices really, but keep it to yourself. Judging is something humans do automatically, so it can't be helped really. But do you really want to be the kind of trash person that openly says what you're judging? Nobody will like you if you do, and that's just how it is. You can judge all you want but keep it inside your head, the world doesn't need anymore negativity than it already has. Try making a positive change instead, you might find you're happier with that change.

I don't know about modern plastic surgery but women who got it done in the 90s to early 2000, you can spot bolt on boobs a mile away.

[–]Tayaradga 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
That's a bold assumption there. Id say its more like most men either dont care or fear the retaliation they'll get from saying something. For me its hardcore the 2nd, I notice when a woman is wearing make up or has plastic surgery. I'll compliment them if they did their make up well seeing as it's pretty hard to do (tried doing it to help my trans friend feel more comfortable dressing as their gender, I did a horrible job).

[–]Tayaradga 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
My wife. She wakes up beautiful, goes to bed beautiful and is beautiful all the time to me. Doesn't matter if shes throwing up even, i still find her beautiful.
My best friend being another. Dude has abused his body to all hell so most dont think he is, but with everything he does for everybody else i think thats a beautiful trait that is beyond physical looks.
I'm Demisexual, i dont care about looks, gender, or anything else really (besides age. Im not a pedo). All i care about is personality. So i find a lot of people naturally beautiful. Even if their physical body isnt generally seen as beautiful, i still find them beautiful.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I certainly couldn't do any of it lol. Its the double standard that i don't like. If a guy doesnt like a girl with implants or that wears make up that should be fine. But society tends to outcast men that do, and yet turn around and glorify a woman for rejecting a guy because hes too short. Everyone has their own preference, we shouldn't make a big deal out of if someone got rejected or not to begin with. Stop giving out trophies to women that reject men and stop belittling men that reject women. Simple concept.

If you don’t care if women wear makeup why are you complaining on this sub about it? Also what does women rejecting short men have to do with any of this
[–]Tayaradga -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I'm not upset by women wearing makeup. Im upset at the double standard. Same for the women rejecting short men, im not upset by the fact that it happens, im just upset about the double standard regarding it. Im not even complaining im just stating facts really. Do you need to read back through what was said? I understand if you do, i have brain damage so im very forgetful myself. Please take a moment to refresh your memory 🙂

But what does that have to do with my comment or the original post? Not trying to be rude I agree there is a double standard but in relation to the post I just said most men wouldn’t be able to tell if someone was natural or not.
[–]Tayaradga -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Which I simply dont agree with. There are plenty of men that can spot someone camping in grass across a map essentially. If those same men can't tell if someone has had work done on their body i would honestly be shocked.

Cringe. This sub has been overrun by incels. This is not what PPD was about, ever.
Have fun complaining to each other about "females", virgins.

Why’s it sad that a woman had to stand up to him?

As a contrary point of view here, while I 100% agree with what the last woman said, I also think it’s fine to have double standards, it’s fine to be a hypocrite, it’s fine to not always be consistent. There is no reason to not to. For some reason people like pointing out others hypocrisy and double standards without realizing we all do it all the time. To me that’s the progress on this thread. Yes some women want to artificially enhance their beauty and yes some of those women want a “real” man that doesn’t. It’s not some gotcha or anything, it’s just the reality of being a human.

I got thrown into the dating world after I found out my wife was cheating and I tried it for a little bit and realized it’s not even remotely worth the time you spend as a guy. I have stopped trying to date and now I hang out with my dog and I’m currently 3D printing a 1:1 scale of Death Trooper Armor.

Reminds me of a Poe story in which a handsome man turns out to be a badly scarred man wearing fake everything. That's what it's like with women these days. Fake lashes, contoured jeans, fake hair, contact lenses, and so on. You really have to look carefully to make sure your hotty isn't really a notty.

For those that have not, check out the horrible animations of Lainey Molnar. Her "work" insists on no standards for women but is downright vicious on putting men down. It seems her creed is no man is good enough for her so she is better off alone.
I think when women say real man they dont really mean real visually lol, they just dont want to be lead to believe youre someone that youre not. AS a woman, im not saying that shaging how you look severely isnt deceptive, its just deceptive in a difderent way. Also, its not really a double standard if the male dominated (up till recently) society expects women to do all these things that men just dont have to...
