Brian Laundrie killed his girlfriend Gabby Petito and then killed himself. It turns out, a little while before that, there was a 911 call about a man attacking a woman.

Brian Laundrie has visible injuries on him. If Gabby has injuries, they are not visible to me. They question both of them. Gabby admits to physically attacking Brian first. The police are about to arrest Gabby based on the fact that they have no discretion not to arrest the primary aggressor even if the victim doesn't want it. And in this case, the police have identified Brian as the victim and Gabby as the primary aggressor. They are then able to find a loophole in the law because she said she didn't intend injury, she only started the physical aggression because he told her to calm down and she wanted to stop him from saying that. So they are then able to let it go.

Some time after that, they both go missing. The bodies are found and it is determined that Brian killed her and then killed himself. Very tragic situation indeed.

Now my issue is, if the sexes were reversed here, how would feminists and the media have treated this case? It seems pretty obvious to me that if the police saw a bunch of injuries on a woman, the man admitted to initiating physical aggression against her because she told him to calm down, and then it was found out later that she killed him, this would be seen as a clear cut case of self defense by many feminists and the media. And even if it were conceded to be cold blooded murder, it would still be seen as an understandable reaction of a battered woman who "snapped".

The injuries on the woman would be trotted out as well as his confession, to forever condemn him as a monster that we should not feel sorry for.

Take the Jodi Arias case for example. Now there aren't a whole lot of Arias supporters out there, but the amount out there aren't completely insignificant either. Now imagine if there were pictures or video of her with injuries as well as Travis admitting to starting physical violence with her and the police almost making an arrest on him for that. I think that case would have been handled very differently, both in the media and by feminists.
