So, I am a single father. My story reads like a MGTOW nightmare, had a GF who "Was On Brithcontrol" but was suddenly pregnant. Ok so we are going to have a child, and so she moved in so I could be the stand-up guy. Within the first trimester, her real personality emerged and it became clear we had no future beyond co-parenting. Still, I took care of her and her daughter while waiting for our baby to be born, when we discovered we were having a son she freaked completely. She wanted an abortion but knew I would kick her out if she did. So the pregnancy went to term and as soon as the baby was born she disappeared with the baby and held him for ransom, only allowing me to see him if I had cash. Eventually, with the help of her family, we got him away and he has been with me ever since but that took 11 months. During that time she was partying a lot and would stick him in a closet so as not to upset her partner for the night or hour. When I got him within the first hour he was with a doctor being checked out and then another and another assorted specialist. Needless to say, he had been criminally neglected. She had at this time moved 3 hours away and when I refused to give the baby back she contrived a BS story of kidnapping and got a court order, tried to have me arrested, and sue me for child support. I had to retain two lawyers in two separate counties and fought her in court for over three years. She told ridiculous lies about me in court that my lawyers easily disproved and they also pulled up her entire criminal record stemming from ages 18 to 35, we provided testimony and solid proof with dr. reports showing the abuse and still the judge while giving me custodial custody granted her all weekends and 3 evenings a week. I documented everything, when she arrived, when she dropped him off his condition, etc... One evening I received a call from the police, she was being arrested at a hotel she was staying at for non-payment of services. She was being arrested with two other men one a known drug dealer. When I arrived I took possession of my son we were in and out of court over the next years, CPS and other county resources. The short story is that she kept getting the benefit of the doubt and I lost my home, cars, bot, motorcycles, savings, 401K from three years of fighting until finally the judge recognized the reality and gave me full custody ordering her to pay child support for which not a penny was ever paid. Last year I was able to get the courts to remove her parental rights and removed her name from his Birth certificate. I had on day one compelling reasons to protect him from her, she didn't even show up in court most of the time and still, I was raked over the coals. I love my son and would have done anything to protect him and because of the inequality, our court system shows fathers I did. Losing all financial security in the process.
